This collection of Aribeth Heads honors the Anniversary of the 'Lovely, lovely Aribeth' thread, the longest running, active, thread on the NWN Community Site*. Urza began the thread on June 14, 2002 in the Pre-release forums: lovers and haters of Aribeth have been posting ever since. There are 11 new heads in this collection, numbered for slots 12 through 22. Re-numbering instructions are included Models: 12 - Improved Aribeth - Now without annoying shadows! 13 - Haircut Aribeth 14 - Ponybeth - Cloth2=Scrunchie 15 - Ghostibeth - Metal2=Hair ring 16 - AriGoth - Tattoo2=lips, Metal1=Earrings, Metal2=Nose stud 17 - AriHawk - 18 - Kyribeth - New 'Huge Hair' Kyri model Tattoo2=hair stripe 19 - Camobeth - Tattoo1=Camo1, Tattoo2=Camo2 20 - Elfhelm Ari 21 - Winghelm Ari 22 - Horsehelm Ari Tattoo1=eye color on all models. *This statement may not literally be true, but I'm too lazy to search for any longer-running threads. Anyway, it 'feels' true.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 8 that made this score of 8.50.

Does this one not work anymore with the Hordes of Underdark modifications? I've extracted the files into the Override folder using nwn.exe, per the instructions, and I'm having NO luck. They simply don't have any effect.
It's quite possible I'm just messing it up in some way. If that's a possibility, could you explain it VERY carefully to me so I can get these to work? I really don't like any of the Bioware player character heads that much.

Ah, new content for my bloated override folder! Some of them are little bit silly, but I would say that good work you have done indeed. :)

If you want any custom head to appear to all participants in a persistent world (or any multi-player game) the models have to be available on all the players machines, i.e. they would need to be distributed via the PW hak. Additionally, there are issues with all custom heads that cause them to only work properly when they are stored in the NWN override folder. With all that being said, there *are* ways that you can substitute a custom head for one of the default NWN heads. Only you would see the custom head, everyone else would see the original Bioware head --- but at least you wouldn't be headless. If you're interested in that option send me an e-mail and I'll provide instructions.

Is there a way to replace one of these head models with one of the original head models in the game? Here's the problem, I really like one of these Aribeth heads, but the PW that i'm playing on right now doesn't use this hak pack. Everyone sees me as headless. Kinda sucks. Another option would be to somehow put the head model in the PW's hak. Would either of these options be possible?
Thanks in advance.

The heads work fine in SoU if you have extracted them into your Override folder. If you leave them in the hakpak, the hak must be linked to the module - definitely not recommended. Read the 'Readme' files included in the download for installation instructions and recommendations.

The heads look very professionally done. Only thing is that I cannot get them to work in the expansion (My characters either end up with a default head:like the Prince Valiant look, or go through the game HEADLESS). Any advice on what to do about this would be appreciated

Bioware should take notice of your quality work. The heads you've created are just as good if not better than what they provided.
I would just like to beg you to re-size some of them to work as half-elves. Specifically the platinum blonde head on the far right of the picture. Its amazing!!!

Wow, these heads are very nice work. I continue to b eimpressed with the quality of your work Bearthing.
Question...is it difficult to produce a head with multiple parts skinned off a single texture file (like the Aribeth with helmet heads)?? I've been wanting to start messing around with making a head or two myself.. I was thinking of combining the lich head with the human male head 2 (the hooded one) and trimming the crown to a smaller size to make a hooded lich with crown as a head...is that sort of thing hard to manage? I've tried doing it using the Chilliskinner tools after watching Danmar's low-poly count texturing tutorial, but the lich head parts and hood do NOT want to play nice...maybe I'll go check out his tutorial 8, the more advanced texturing one..
Anyway, GREAT work on these heads. Any plans for the future to do mroe open-faced helmet style heads? Your work really is top-notch. :)

Great work! Not many modelers have touched the female elf head catagory.

Like all of your work, AWESOME. the game really needs more heads and yours are top quality.
Posted by SSH83 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-06-14 15:10:00
Heck yeah. Much nicer-looking elf-heads then the regular ones in the game!

That's some great work right there! The helmet-heads look stunning! Please do make some similar (perhaps same) heads for male gender (after all, for the most part soldiers are male). Great work once again.

I have some more (Non-Aribeth) heads to release, but this Pack is all about the beloved Ex-Paladin.

just thought of something I don't like about them. NOT ENOUGH!!! come on get some more done. LOL
Posted by BoromirNo1 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-06-14 12:31:00
these are amazing. Is there any chance of a non-aribeth version. It'll be a bit strange to bump into everyone with the same face. And lots of folks are going to use these. I especially like how u have taken helmets outta the toolset and incorporated them onto your heads. Stunning, fantastic, brilliant. Infact I cannt find a bad thing to say about em (baa humbug)
