Tom's Invisible Object Fix V1.2 ******************************* This hak fixes the invisible object placeable so it can be used to sit on properly. As described in the NWN Lexicon (www.reapers.org/nwn/reference): 'On an invisible object or any object other than a chair or couch the creature always sits facing east (direction 90.0). This is due to the 'use01' dummy located close to the model's center (the 'use01' dummy is used to determine which direction the sitting creature will face). By modifying the invisible object model in a hak pak (i.e. moving the 'use01' dummy forward 5 units), the sitting creature will now face the direction the arrow points.' I've done just that. This hak actually replaces the current invisible object with the modified model so it shouldn't interfer with any other haks. Just use the normal invisble object listed under standard placeables.
Version 1.2 change: 2da file removed, should work with all versions now. Huge Thanks: Hannah Davis for catching a major screw-up I made in V1.0 More thanks: Achilles for being smart than me and saving me having to screw around with the d2a ever again. RE: the linux issue... many moons later, lol... linux is case sensitive, windows is not. Any and all hak names therefore MUST be in lowercase only.
Thanks a lot for this, Tom. Drove me nuts. _________________________ Aspiring author; NWN builder and DM.

Has anyone heard about this not working with the Linux version of the standalone server modules?
We seem to be having a problem getting the mod to load with this and using linux.

Perfect!
Small, ingenious (to find the problem, that is ;)) and perfectly practical and usable everywhere.

I love this, small and to the point. I think it could be made even smaller though. I'm almost certain that you don't need to include the placeables.2da in the hak because you use the same model name as the default. The engine will just use yours since haks have higher priority than default content. This should make the number of conflicts when adding it to other haks practically nil. Plus you'd never have to update the 2da after a patch.
In that same vein, you can probably leave out the walkmesh too; you can't bump into an invisible object. That would leave just one file, the mdl. The mdl is what you changed, isn't it?
Anyway, thanks for putting this out.
Unless that's where you had to make the necessary change (which I don't think it was
Take this with a grain of salt because I know only a little about modelling.

I did the exact same thing. And I even tried scripting a set facing function (I'm a rocket scientist!). And then I found out the real problem. Then I was all like "Pff, I'm sure someone made a hak to fix this little problem." An hour later I've got a modeling tutorial, three programs I've never used before, and only the slightest clue what I'm doing at all... 6 freakin' hours later its done, tested, and uploaded. But my NPCs and PCs will sit facing where I darn well want them to, so it was all worth it. Even more so because at least one other person found it usefull. Thanks. :)

Dude you rock, I tried using the invisible placeable to make it possible to sit on tileset items (Thinking I was a genius, LOL) it didn't work , thank you so much for this. Little details like this just make the game that much better. Thanks for your hard work.
