***UPDATE RECORD***
  • Sepember 24, 2003
    • Fixed textures for the food placeables - they actually show up as colored items now.
    • Removed CFR Tileset files.
    • Removed 'nwscript.nss' that was hidden inside, making half the scripts you used not work.
  • September 19, 2003
    • Added the Tir Na nOg 'Dead Tree' placeables
    • Added two new benches from Janus's Sittable Chairs
    • Fixed the .2da files to include SoU Entries
    • New .erf included - all items now show up

Updated hak file, but .erf remains the same for these. Safe to download, working as normal (finally). New file is labeled as version 5.

Delete the old and rename to: 'XxV4.5-SoU.hak' if you're updating from the last version and don't want your module to spaz on you. You may need to remake prior scripts that were effected.

Excellent hack here, I love it. It takes so LONG just to patch together some placeables with all the 2DAs and endless endless Bug monkey baboons trying to eat your fingers.

I have but one request, could you patch up a HotU version?

Updated again, (last time, hopefully), new filesize should be 25.9MB so you'll know when the latest version is up.

If you don't want to re-download the whole thing, and have a way to unpack the hak into a folder, here's what I changed. Takes 10min to fix, honestly, and not worth redownloading if you don't have to, as not much was changed (but what was changed - see the last part - was important).


--Fixed the textures for the food placeables - Changed them to 128x128 and 64x64 (size) instead of the incorrect sizes they were, saved it as 24 bits/pixel. They weren't showing up, and now they do.

--Removed the random CFR Tileset that was somehow inside the folder. *boggle* Take out all the "trf01" "tin01", and "tdm01" files (9 files, depending on what you want to remove), if you don't want this. (I don't even remember who did it, now, so it's probably best to remove it =p)

--Removed the nwscript.nss file that was also somehow in the folder, (I wish I knew whose hak had it so I could bonk them senseless with a whiffle bat). It had the extremely annoying side-effect of not allowing a lot of default script options to work, and a lot of script functions didn't show up when trying to script.

Uploading the new file as we speak :) It should be slightly bigger than this one, (26.4MB on my harddrive), so that should help you know when it's done being uploaded, and is safe to get.

Explanation of the larger filesize: Added a few more placeables (see above). We're now up to 588 in this one!

I had the same problem about a week ago. I was working on a module then upgraded to SOU. then I installed a placeables hak file and couldn't get the SOU placeables to appear. after about a 4 hrs I found the problem they added a new line to SOU and thats why the hak wasn't working.. so is this the version thats up right now the SOU working version? or do I have to wait?

Hi, well i had the same pb for i bought SoU some days ago and wanted to create a new module including a placables Hak ( an old Denmar's LokPak ). My trouble is that in the NWN source file, the placables.2da don't shows the SoU entries, thus i couldn't copy/paste them to my hakpak placables.2ta.
If someone knows how to cope with this, please tell as i would like to use hakpak like this one ( i will download it and try, anyway )

After bashing heads on our desks for a while, Linna and myself figured out the missing SoU placeables, and I have it working, although I have not made the new .erf yet, still only about half done with it.

As a side note, the bodybag.2da, polymorph.2da and irpr_ammocosts.2da are for SpoonMerlin's Boats, apparantly they blow up neat. :) Lisa uses portraits.2da for her placeables, so they all have custom images. appearance.2da and baseitems.2da are for her items as well, I believe. The tileset .2da files are for umm I think the TirNaNog trees, but I could be very wrong.

I should have the finished/uploaded version up by daybreak, with luck :) Thank you for your assistance!

I opened up you hak and took a look at your placeable .2da.

The problem is that the new SOU lines are not present. If you cant find them, email me and I would be happy to send you the .2da.

Also, I noticed there are some other .2das in your hak that do not pertain to placeables. ie appearance.2da,baseitems.2da, bodybag.2da, iprp_ammocosts.2da, polymorph.2da, portraits.2da, trf01doors.2da and trf01_edge.2da.

I would suggest not having them in your placeable hak. It of course all depends on what you want to do. But if you have more than one hak loaded on a module with this placeable hak, it may overide some of your other haks.
