includes items icons for Forgotten realms, Dragonlance,Planescape,Dark Sun,etc and bank credit letters. includes some script too in the demo module.
PS:put sugestions and bugs in the comment section of the page. thanks updated:now the icons have transparent backgrounds. updated v1.2:now includes a customizable merchant system to use the coins (buy/sell/identify), and bank credits. it allows now multiple buy and multiple sell it allows u to set if the merchant has enought lore to identify the item. and that is the price of the items, u can make unlimited suply items too. it clears the local variables to save memory. check the readme for more information of the merchant system.

Most Excellent ! I love the coin pictures and the notes best of all ! =) _________________________ <Note: This is not a 'real' singnature - but a signature place-holder, in case, I should decide to add a real signature at some time in the future.. which may or may not make silly references to trite little sayings by infrequently quoted personages, or perhaps blithe attempts at keen insights into the nature of humanity and the world, or perhaps otherwise completely unnecessary blather that goes on and on talking about nothing in particular and doing rather annoying things like cutting off in mid-sent... ...particular reason whatso- As I was saying, a signature of this sort (should one in fact be decidedly adopted, ahem) include any or perhaps even all of these things, but then again, it may very well n- >

Everyone has an opinion lol. Not sure why they'd want to critique some new item pictures though :p I was just having a look at some new Key Icons too, but amazingly, the author emerged unscathed by critical commentary on how improper key use might destroy the enjoyment of the game for one and all.
Anyways...
Good work. These will be just the thing for pickpocket items. Thanks! :)

as u said make the items cost coppers instead of gold is an option.
i made it to make the pcs see the coins and if they find foreigner coins , it can be a clue.
i added the copper and silver coins b/c no all the ppl use FR setting and there r worlds that dont use gold coins as the main currency (as dragonlance , darksun ,planescape , and some world based in somebody's creativity)
thats why i made that ones too, to make the hak complete.
i was more interested in the foreing coinage effect than in the 100 copper = 10 silver = 1 gold. i didnt made scripts for that but maybe someone wants to use it that way ..if u dont belive it check some hardcore haks and u will see copper, silver, gold and platinum.
if u dont want use that icons remove them and use the ones u like.

I can see uses for some of the coins, as things you might find in an ancient ruin...
But what is the point of copper and silver coins, really? There's no way to spend them. Merchants can't be set to sell anything for less that 1 gp. Unless you've found a clever way around that... what's the point?
Making someone gather 100 copper coins to trade in at a money changer for 1 gp is just a time-wasting mini-game system that is detrimental to gameplay enjoyment. Unless you can find away to have merchants charge what an item should actually be worth.. Ie a Healing Kit has a default value of 51 gp. If you can make it cost 51 coppers, then then there's maybe a point to having those coins. Otherwise it's just a time waster that most players will not enjoy being subjected to in an online game such as a PW.
NWN PW's are not commercial pay to play MMOGs, where they DO intentionally put in time wasting systems to keep the players playing longer (and paying longer). Treadmills have no place in a free and open MMOG platform like NWN. We can do better game design than that.

updated
-transparent icons
-includes txt with information to change the version
Wedge
i hope that with that you can fix it, if u cant see the mobius u cant see any off the icons with a number greather than 100
Posted by ath ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-09-11 12:06:00
Wedge
the stack is a propiety in the baseitems.2da in the "Stacking" column and the number of icons that can appear in the toolset is limited to 255 , so if u use multiple haks some 2da can make that happen.
for the staking u only need to edit the "Stacking" column of the others 2da in the "24 192 miscsmall ..."2da file.(this will work in any version nwn or sou)
if u have other haks that have crustom miscellaneous items that could make the 2nd problem.
to be sure open the demo module of the hak in the toolset and edit one of the custom items > plot (coins, not the bank paper) to selec a new appareance(it would be one of the last ones) this is to check that that image isnt damaged.
i hope to finish a new version next week or so
NOTE : to edit 2da open them with a text editor as notepad, etc

great job ath, just a few things:
1: is there anyway to make them stackable in the toolset? when I make a coin, it only allows a stack of one to be made.
2: The Sigil Mobius appears to be missing from the misc small portraits.

ath these are great. I have designed a gold encumbrance system and monetary exchange system (using letters of credit) :) for the new AMOOF PW. The icons I ended up choosing to represent gold in inventory and other items in the system were... less than satisfactory.
Thanks so much.

to make smaller stacks of coins (default 10000), remenber to read the txt and the createitemonobject(tag,oPc,stack)
because if u try to create more that the max. stack allowed
the engine will create only one stack, creck the other script included in the demo mod ("comp01" /the one that dont has a b on the name. )
this is because the engine cant destroy one coin, it will destroy the stack,so after play the pc must recibe the coins he didnt spend.
thanks :)

This is great work and - how it seems - underestimated by some people.
Think of tombs, long lost and forgotten, which contains them. They may be 500 gp worth each...
Or as keys in a Planescape adventure! I will use them definitly to spice up my abandoned dwarven citadell!
Thank you very much for doing this!

Yes! EXACTLY what I needed! Now coins will have weight and take up inventory space in my module. Also I'm going to script all merchants through conversation, so this will work nicely. I don't need to worry about the official NWN gold. Also different coins will have different rates of exchange, different money changers will have different rates of change, and some merchants wont except cirtain types of coins, or will only except a cirtain type of coin.
Posted by Lost Dragon ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-08-17 13:05:00
Uh, FDL, what do you mean it can't be used in the game?
Here's an idea for how easily it COULD be used:
Make monsters drop these coins instead of gold, and then have a special money-changer NPC who would turn the special coins into the equivalent NWN gold pieces.
Tada.
If you wanted to get really fancy with it you could do a lot more. Neat stuff.
