The god of the nice and cute metallic dragons. The picture lies a bit since i've rescaled him so he's larger than regular dragon Don't know what else to say... You won't beat him in melee combat... =) This is the D&D version of Bahamut, not the FF one! A pack with various new skins and abilities will be uploaded sometime in the future (when we're done with our minimodule, The Grey Willow) that will include the FF Bahamut among others
Greater Ruin's the way to go. And hellball's multiple elemental damages, and knocks you down... implosion makes you save vs death, or take x damage on successful saves. but anyway, if we could get a silver skin on that, it'd be great. don't really need platinum.. silver's close enough for it...
I have never played any of the final fantasy games or anything like that, but that doesn't look like a dragon king to me. The best thing to do in my opinion is edit Bahamut's properties and give him ?? charges of the "hellball" spell. It is like implosion, but uses flames. Hellball I believe requires HOTU and is an Epis spell. _________________________ -Do not try to attain the power of a god, worship it.
I'll post it in this Vault after im done making it. _________________________ Cowards taste death many times before they die, but the brave only taste death once.

Bahamut was found in Islamic myth (probably in Koran, I'm not sure).
Sorry to break your fantasies, fellow FF players, but Bahamut is not a dragon.
It is a big swimming creature with Kyata/Kjata riding on its back.
No proof to confirm nor deny if Bahamut = Behemoth (Behemoth found in the Christian Bible).
As for Tiamat, it's originated from old Babylonian myth.
The Champion of Gods Bel Marduk split the old dragoness in half, the body became the earth and mankind, the blood became the sky and the stars.
I don't remember text by text, but if I'm mistaken, please forgive me, and Google is your friend.

hmmm... that's not a bad idea really... how about a .plt skin for the old fellow?
then you could all chose what color he should be yourself and can't blame me for making him the wrong one! weeeehaa! :D
hey heres a suggestion, use one of the hidden colors, the shiney one, it looks platinum for sure, use that and silver to make him look really platinum, trust me it would work.Khelek Heru

Bahamut is platinum, isn't he? Not green.....
No wait... Now, he's a fatass with a circular thingy on his back. I freakin' hate FFX bahamut. Mega flare was pretty decent looking though. Perhaps you can modify a harm spell to look like mega flare... or was it giga flare? I don't remember.
Anyways, I know nothing about DnD bahamut... and very little about FF bahamut. so... bye.

Although it looks nothing like Bahamut it still looks nice 8)

hehe, I promise to do my best to become the king of dragons ;)
though i doubt I'll be able to satisfy all hardcore FF fans, I'm really not a good modeler, but I'll try as hard as I can not to disappoint you! =D

Wow, hope I didn't start all that FF Vs. D&D +blocked+. I know the difference between a god and a summoned creature. BTW Koffein, when you said "you can have your precious FF Bahamut... atleast the FFVII one... =)" I had to smile. Of the FF Bahamuts, the one in FFVII WAS the best looking of the bunch, it reminded me the most of a good ol' gothic dragon. I didn't like the head on Neo and the six wings of Zero with that mosquito-beak just made me angry.
I personally prefer the D&D bahamut, but I think I might be able to slowly draw my console gaming friends towards NWN if I can give them some good old FF style mods to break the ice. (which is why Zarathustra's itemprop hak is also useful, it allows one to make materia out of sling bullets :P) While I do like the NWN dragons a bit, the shape and grace of the FFVII Bahamut is, to me at least, a little more impressive. These dragons in NWN seem more like overlarge winged lizards with some powers, not really scary visually, just because of what they can do. (so if you modeled the FFVII 'style' dragon, I would have to put you up by Bahamut's throne as the king of dragons, even if not the god.)
- Serve the shadows, as they conceal your attacks as well as your retreat.

Darkling: That would be correct, yes. Tiamat is kind of all-chromatic-dragons-in-one, like a dragon hydra and that's the reason why she can be pretty problematic to create, but I'll atleast give it a shot
Joric: Don't know about boyfriend, but I know Lolth dates Bahamut a few years back... ;p
Posted by Joric Bhaalspawn ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-05-01 17:27:00
ADA, do you realize how stupid you sound? Black with chromatic wings for the god of Good (metallic) dragons!? Sheesh, next you're gonna say its Lolth's boyfriend......
Posted by Joric Bhaalspawn ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-05-01 17:22:00
wait a sec, Bahamut is Paladine!? The Platinum Dragon was another name for Paladine, so maybe he was the same person.
I hope so, i was kinda depressed when i learned of his undeification and im glad hes a god again
Posted by Darkling ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-05-01 17:17:00
if Bahamut is the god of the Matallic dragons, then who is Tiamat? Is he/she the god/goddess of the Chromatic (evil) dragons?
Posted by Koffein ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-05-01 10:51:00
I'd love to make Tiamat, but with Bahamuts evil opposite I didn't mean her
just a reskin of this one
the problem with tiamat is the polycount and the transition between the neck and body that tends to look really unnatural, but I'll see what I can do
Posted by Reverend Jynxed ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-04-24 10:40:00
If you can get a proper chromatic dragon or "tiamat" up that would be hella cool. Tiamat being Bahamut's nemesis.
When you say Bahamuts evil opposite, are you going to be creating an evil bahamut? Or are you actually intending on creating Tiamat?
Posted by Koffein ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-04-20 15:02:00
aaahhhh... okay, never heard of the adamantine one before, but I figured he was evil after your post, sorry, my mistake... =)
I could make several variations, but the evil one isn't really based on any book, just Bahamuts evil opposite some guy requested a while back sooo... since it is a Bahamut pack, there will be no shadow dragon, might be a future project though... =)
but I'll concider the adamantine if someone could send me the stats
Posted by Reverend Jynxed ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-04-16 09:21:00
Heh, hope it didin't sound snotty. That wasn't the intent =P
Something to keep in mind however. To keep with the traditional AD&D flavor, remember all metallic dragons are good dragons, gem dragons are neutral dragons, and chromatic (or colored) dragons are evil dragons.
The adamantine dragon is a planar dragon who resides in the upper planes. Rarely seen by mortals they are very good creatures.
If you want to make an evil dragon, go for a deep dragon (purple), or shadow dragon (smoke/black), or any slew of other colors.
Have a good one ;)
Posted by Koffein ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-04-11 04:29:00
The problem is that I'm colorblind... =)
But when I create the new version of him, I'll check with our 2d guys if anyone of them could help me out a bit.. =)
Also, this is the first thing I ever created in a 3d program, so take that into concideration... =)
But now when I have a bit more experience I can do him a bit better, so I understand your critisism and I've taken it into concideration and will do my best to remake him that way
Also, an "evil" version have been planned for a long time, so I might as well make that the Adamantine dragon... =)
Posted by Reverend Jynxed ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-04-10 09:52:00
Remember that Bahamut is actually called the platinum dragon for a reason.
Granted it is hard to tell the difference by looking at the color vs. white gold, or silver, but if you used a silver base and added a cloisone type or sheen it could do it.
Another badass dragon is the adamantite dragon. This was a more recent overpowered platinum dragon knockoff. Comparing stats of these and the old school Bahamut, it would be a very close fight.
If I were to do it (which I wont because my modeling skills suck...) I would ahve given him a grander feel. Less horns, majestic wings, and less bulkiness to his body. He currently looks like a pseudodragon oompaloompah ;)
Think... streamlined.
Posted by Koffein ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-04-09 02:06:00
very good point Cevan!
I love the D&D bahamut, and the FF one isn't nearly as cool
but I like request so I'll still make the FF one... =)
Posted by dm_khonius ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-24 17:22:00
Hey I would like to make a point here. This is a great
addition. I know because I was going to do a Bahamut
myself. This follows as close as nwn will allow. The skin
is good IMO because at least its something new. Most
important is that all of the stats and other stuff is as
accurate as can be. I tested this dragon quite a bit and
was impressed.
Posted by Koffein ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-22 01:09:00
ohhh... yeah, i forgot to mention... ADA, if you don't like
the skin, just download the textures for it and do it
yourself, just go to the link on the info and click your
way to the downloads section and you are free to do
whatever you want with this model
Posted by Koffein ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-21 11:45:00
hehe... ADA: how very brave of you not to publish your
email, and if you really believe the D&D version of
Bahamut, the god of metallic dragons, is black with multi-
color wings... well... then you must be more colorblind
than myself... =)
megaflare, yes... we're working on it as you had known if
you had read the comments below´, and we're also going to
release a couple of new skins for it:
The current one, an evil version and the FF one
we have alot to do on Dremolaria right now as we're soon
releasing our minimod The Grey Willow, but after that it
shouldn't take to much time and you can have your precious
FF Bahamut... atleast the FFVII one... =)
Posted by Nonayobiz ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-18 18:25:00
ADA...you're right...but at the same time..an idiot.
DnD Predates FF by a heafty margin. Crappy though this
depiction is...it's much closer to the actual DnD Bahamut
than the FF's Bahamuts.....+blocked+.
Posted by ADA ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-18 15:39:00
HA HA HA thats bahamut.
Bahamut is a black dragon whit wings in many colers
and it stands on 2 legs
and use mega flare
