These armlets produce a magical shield when worn giving mages and rogues a more practical form of shield that isn't so cumbersome.
Such devices can be found throught D&D, such as the Ring of Shielding. However NWN (At present) has no support for such things so these shields make for an intresting variation on a theme. The pack has 3 variants. One projects a large shield size wall of force (Top middle), another creates a purple, hazy field (Left). One produces a small greenish disk of energy the size of a small shield (Middle bottom) and the most intriguing of them (Far right) has a small planar gate set into it, so incoming attacks are directed to another plane entirely instead of merely deflected.
Nekomimi PC model, Robes, and Leg Model not part of this hakpack.
The override isn't working, but the hak does. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I put the hak in the hak folder and the stuff in the override part of the zip into the override folder. Is there some trick to this?... _________________________ All the tales of the greatest adventures never mention the fact that most of them were spent walking, do they?

Definitely very cool. Awsome looking stuff, emitters look so... magical! This is going right into our mod. Thanks, Ryuujin! _________________________ Builder of Moonunit's Legacy of Netheril PW
I'm the "CoolWolf" from above...
I now know how to do the effect I was after, However I would need both the shield models (Armlet with Shield) from this hack and also plain models of the same 4 Armlets (without shields)
Then I can just swap models with scripting...
Now would you be willing to help me Ryuujin? _________________________ Author of: Elemental Blades (V1.0 Swords) Link

In a word, no. It could be done using scripts rather crudely, but you can't just turn it on or off just like that, and you definatly can't add a kind of "hit" effect.

I was wondering if it was possible to equip an armlet shield, but so that is was an armlet, whilst equiped until within a certain distance of a monster, same shield effects just invisible with armlet showing, until it becomes visible when in range or hit?
The robe is not quite finished. Really I just need to tweak the texture and export it properly and give it the documentation. Thats gonna be out on NWVault very soon.
The leg model is from the CEP. Though I have got the author's permission to export the leg model with the robe pack if I wanted (I may not though to avoid messing up more 2da's than I must).

Awsom. Just Awsom. On a side note where can I get the Robes and Leg Model?
" These look great but I can't seem to use them. (I have the CEP) what can I do to utilize this and the CEP? "
See my post eight down. Or if you don't care, you can just give this a higher priority and it'll replace some of the shields in the CEP.Cherish always the memory of the fallen. Link

"Azenwrathe" and "Devon_v"
Thanks, you two!
Between both your (quite timely) comments, I was able to get these shield models functioning perfectly well with Large and Tower shields.
Top-notch folks around here, that's for sure.
Thanks again.

@ Dallbee-forgotpass:
CEP doesn't appear to use large shield slots ashlw_014-020,024-030, 034-040, and 044-050, so you could use any of those slots without replacing any of the CEP or Bioware shields.
Very nice shields btw.

"Any chance you could explain how to edit those tgas and mdls, please?"
For the TGAs, just rename the files. The numbers are the slots they take up. For the MDLs, you have to rename the file in the same way, then open it in Notepad and look for a line that says "bitmap" followed by the name of one of the TGAs. Change that line so that it has the same number that you've renamed the TGA and MDL to and it will work.
"...renaming them to the next subequent slots in the Large (256, 257, 258 and 259)"
255 is the limit. You have to replace something.Cherish always the memory of the fallen. Link

The pictures really don't do these shields justice - they look much better live (which is really saying something, as the screenshot looks none too shabby).
A question, though:
I'm aware that these models are for small shields only, which does make sense, but let's say a guy was making an Eldritch Knight sort of character, which necessitates the Auto Still Spell feats, thereby allowing the PC to glean the added AC bonuses of, among other bits of attire, Large and Tower Shields without worrying about penalties and casting failure.
With that in mind, how difficult would it be to associate these designs with the other 2 shield types as well?
I tried copying the .mdl and .tga files in my Override, then renaming them to the next subequent slots in the Large (256, 257, 258 and 259) and Tower (231, 232, 233 and 234) shield progressions - I'm using the CEP, which is why those ranges are so high - but to no avail.
The Large variants aren't showing up at all, and while the Tower shield models will display on my character, their inventory icons all appear as shield icon #230, a piece of CEP art, and not as Ryuujin's appropriate icons.
Any input would be appreciated, as these models are quite slick, and I'd like to put them to more use in-game.
Thanks!

great work, man :) I just renamed/edited the mdls and tgas to 89, 90, 91, and 92 to make em work with CEP ... I just wish there were more of these, as well as models for large shields and tower shields. Now my "stormchaser" small shield has the appropriate look, hehe ... Good work!

Okay, there is so much trouble on every new hak about how to get it into the friggin game!!! Some people don't like it all that much, but if you want to have your character packing custom content in NWN campaigns, you select the files, copy, paste into the NWN-> Override drive, and THEY WILL BE IN. Unless of course, something is wrong, I mean and error occurs or somesuch... Anyways, Ryujiin, these are GREAT, you really have a talent for modelling. Moreover, you can get them into the proper formats for NWN, and out of your model studio. That is a good skill to have. I myself spend hours modelling, and can do it, but cannot manage to do the exporting and file changing to get it to work. Yeah, it sucks. Anyway, I did see your, "Fluffy Purple Dragon", and meant to ask this earlier, but could you consider doing as serious Purple Wyrm, like the Cormyr Purple Dragon? You know, I don't want you to confuse it with the Purple Worm, but I'd like to see modelling of that quality channelled into something more serious. Thanks again, you got my vote.
