The heads from the CEP initial release stripped out for use in your override directory to allow for custom head selection in multiplayer games and single player modules without the haks loaded. No modifications have been made to any of the files, they were simply extracted and repackaged. This was requested by some people on the Bioware forums.
Update 08/01/04: Added Orc heads (sorry for missing them) Update 10/27/04: Revised with CEP 1.50 corrections, removed extra file.

The cause of the metallic heads, is that it cannot look at the CEP pack from character creation. Therefore, in any non-CEP module, the heads will look that way. This seems to be a texture based problem, applying helmet textures to normal heads.
Aargh... I just cannot get this file to work. It worked when I first downloaded it, then just suddenly vanished, never to retur. Several attempts to re-download it have not brought it back at all. Do I have to change the name of the file when downloading it? What must I do?

Quite useful, although it's a shame that some of the heads are metallic when choosing them. _________________________ "Smoking. It's religious. Something about seeing your breath, breathing fire, feeling like a dragon or sinatra. I think sometimes I'll smoke myself new octaves...and dreams."

Hi folks, sorry for the lack of updates or posts - but I've been without internet on my home computer for some time, and probably will not have it for some time to come - thus, I have no plans in the near future to update this to include the 1.66 female head fixes - nor can I continue to support this at this time. Please feel free to continue to use this override, plus the other one for the female head fix for the Bioware 1.66 patch. It should do the trick well enough.
If someone wants to root out the metallic head issue - I believe the problem lies with a certain range of head numbers that are not properly pulling textures from the correct place, but rather drawing from some unused Bioware resources. I'm guessing the fix for this would be to remove those head numbers from the override, but I have no way of checking this out at the moment. It may also be a combination of the above, combined with the fact that the Character Creation screen does not support heads over a certain number - if this is the case, removing *all* heads from the override that are above that number should clear up the problem. Just some ideas that perhaps someone could look into at some point and release a fix.
Good luck, and good gaming!

any chance of putting this in zip?
i downloaded it 3 times but it wont extract right i think its my WinAce so i was hopeing maybe you could put it in zip format?
When you unzip the RAR from the link provided, overwrite ALL..which should leave you with the fixed female heads for version 1.66, and Lastwordz' male heads and female heads for other races. _________________________ "So many people look, but never see."
-I dunno, me I guess.
i cant seem to get to last word link for the head file

Well first are the servers you are playing on cep if not everyonelse see you as being headless and second if it is a cep server you could still appear headless due to the fact that not everyone has these heads including the server admin, but they are there.

I have un-rared the files into my orverride folder (not the override.hak). The heads work nicely in single player, but I can't get them to work in multiplayer.
Any ideas on why?

BTW .. the version of the heads file that I have is from 08/01/04. I haven't updated to the latest version.

Just revisting the metallic head thing again. I don't know what the difference is, but when I play a SP game using my module, which uses the CEP (1.5) I DO NOT get the metallic head problem. But when I play on-line at Divided Kingdoms, I do get the metallic head problem. I believe that is the reverse of what I have seen from a few posts here and at bioware.
I have a Mac and don't have any trouble reading .rar files. I've noticed this complaint several times on various modules/hakpacks. The only thing I can figure is that some people don't have the latest version of Expander. Oh well, it extracted and works in game for me anyway! ;)

Well about the metallic heads...
When I use them in single player they continue to appear metallic in the game.BUT:
If I select them at a CEP compitable server they will appear normal to others AND me or just to the other people who see me?
What program should I use to open the head files and see them out of game?Photoshop will do?Because if I can see them all off game then I can choose probably which ones please me and put just these in the override folder thus eliminating the problem with the metallic skin.that will work right?Putting less heads in the override I mean.

Extract it to Blah/Blah/NWN/override. Use winrar, google search for it and DL the trial version. Hope that helps,
Jon

hey,
thanks for your help. i have been looking for these head pack for quite some time.
although i found some problems with it.
i wanted to select the "gandalf" head (the one with the wizard hat head) and when i tried i cannot pick is hair color. it looks like all his head is a metal helm or something like that. i've tried more heads and a few had the same problem. those heads act like the helm heads.
very frustrating i hope you have a few suggestions.
