The revolution is here! Open Face helmets are possible!
In this pack, goes a hakpak and a module for testing. I found out that changing the 'capart' file, overriding the belt model with head models, it is possible to use head with open face helmets and several hairstyles. The cons- you loose the use of belt models at all The cons- when you get an armour, customize the belt part to match your head. If you put on a helmet, a head will still be visible. -you can use open helmets -you can use various hairstyles ( created as helmets... you can call them wigs ;) -you can change hair colours -you can do much more... just use imagination!
The hakpak is a demo with humanfemale005 bald head, an open faced greek helmet, and a hairstyle.

Well, as by patch 1.66, the female head models are fixed. This is simplifying things ain't it?

Please, I beg you, don't resort to modifying head models. I saw some of these in the CEP but refuse to use them based on my inability to use a face of my choosing and the fact that the helmets cannot be removed.
Some people are going to groan over this, but why not mix it up? Put a few in necks, belts, pelvis and even cloaks. That way you can play around with it if you want certain vfx's to show.
The only other thing I can think of is to do two chest models where the helm is attached to its respective piece of armor and another model is not, much like Lisa's wedding dress. *shrug* ;)
Yeah, I know...more memory, more time...two models for each race...yadda yadda yadda. I've already thought about that, but it was something I was mulling over. I've also just finished my fourth cup of tea so my mind is running in chatter box mode. :PWarm Regards,

Well mates, messing with head models just got me to a fine situation... It seems that female head nodes are placed too low, compared to male ones. This makes helmets wrong placed and incompatible for open face. Also, helmet size correction doesn't match proportions. Females look neckless and smallheaded.
The solution? pfh0,pfh2,pfa0,pfa2,pfg0,pfg2,pfe0,pfe2,pfo0,pfo2 models must be corrected so the head nodes match male ones, and helmets are placed in the correct position. This makes all female heads appear out of place, so all female heads must be corrected also.
This situation makes us change mind on what models to use. We were thinking on using belt models, but as female heads will be displaced anyway, it is better to go for head models, period.
More info will be posted later...
"this buggy situation was probably caused because different designers were working on each race and phenotype. And probably this is one of the reasons Bioware stick to close faced helmets"
Ok, i will start working hard on this now. The final decision was to use belt models instead of head models, so players will be able to still use normal heads. An empty helmet model will be created for that purpose.
I still have to test plt for the wigs. Either normal hair or Cloth1 will be used.
All bald heads will have plt's changed to use these particular cases... Lip colour will use hair palette. Eye colour will go for tatoo1. Aditional face paintings will go for tatoo2.
Male models will have these changes too, so you can make more choices on customization.

Well mates, apart from the fact that we can choose any model part to make the override, the best picks are indeed the neck, or the belt. Apart from dynamic scabbards, i have not seen much more of really important in the belts. Note that the lower parts of armour can be remodeled into new pelvis and that makes up for the loss of belt models. About the necks, well we loose the great chance to have cloaks.
It's as you said, a question of choice. About my opinion, as you can see, i take the cloaks as much more important than the belt parts.
What do you say?

Nice work, tried out ur work and if I'm not mistaken, u can just make a new .2da for belts (or necks, as Raymar_Demonslayer suggested) and be able to use all the heads!
Personally I think overriding the belts or the necks would not really satisfy everyone 'coz some people would want to be able to use things like cloaks or DLA's quiver (which are neck parts).
Anyways, This thing of yours opens up a LOT of possibilities. If somebody could make all the heads hairless (or at least closed cropped) and make all hair as helmets, then it'd be a (near) perfect NWN world :)
Thanks for the posting, mates. This step was really necessary to go into roman era, as all helmets must be open faced.
Greek set is almost done. Think i'll add 2 or 3 robes for common use.
Please keep posting your ideas and opinions, cause i need them to make things better.

Pretty major breakthrough in PC customization here... you might want to post on the Bio CC board as well. Congrats!Carpe Terra, Project Lead
