This model is fantastic! I fully appreciate how much effort must have gone into creating and animating this. A polycount reduction would probably be good (though I'm not having issues as of yet that I know of), and it could really use a re-texturing, but those are small next to how well everything else is done. Great work!

I fixed the animation events so the creature now compiles - updated version will be available in SRD patch 3.1 _________________________ --

A nice addition to the NWN creature list. The polycount is a bit high though.

One other thing: I had intended to see if the skin mesh could be improved, however I've had no luck getting it to open, despite using several dds extractors/convertors/plugins for photoshop. Any help would be appreciated.

The polycount and texturing will be corrected in the next release.
You should be able to find the appearance in the list when making a new creature from the creature wizard.
As far as scripting, you're on you own there.

This one is cool. However-Do you think you could lower the polycount without compromising on the quality too much?

Great model, love it and its animations (althought death animation is a little wierd, but its all good)
Umm....I downloaded it and used the self extractor, and I got the displacer.hak file only. I put it in my NWN hak folder, but to get the displacer beast for a monster, I have to put a monster down and change its appearance to displacer beast, it has no scripts and of course, the original monsters abilities/stats.....is this suppose to be like this or is there a better way? Thanks
I would like to thank Bioware for the c_cat_panth.mdl and the c_drgshad.mdl for the parts that I used to model this creature from. I would also like to thank Discreet, Adobe Systems Inc., Wizards of the Coast, and the NWN Community in general for the creation of all the tools that make modeling possible.
With the exception of the above listed names, all the work done here is my own.
Anyone can modify it to fit their own needs.

Does it actully move around(displacing itself) ?

Finally - a real displacer beast. It's nasty looking too, in a good way. I always loved the 3d edition pic of the Displacer Beast...

Once its had its polycount lowered and the skin sorted (needs a total new skin, not just a pic from the MM) this will be a great addition to the game.

Looking good, but does have a few more polys than needed, and the skin could be a little more than the picture out of the monster manual. Nice try though.

Nice model, too bad the poly are too high to be useable for me. I Looked at it in gmax and you should be able to drop
700-1000 poly off it without even changing it appearance. Good luck :).
