I'm a huge Whitewolf Vampire fan. But seriously. Shut up. Sue this, Sue that, really puts you off the company, then people whom encourage this by going around flaming others about it being illegal even through he has said the original material is from vampire masquerade: redemption and not charging anything for it at all. Thus making it anything but illegal *Slaps both his checks* O and look there goes the whole point of the flame. Nice one guys, way to go *Sarcastic Thumbs up*.

On another note. Great work. Almost a perfect transfer. Being a perfectionist I have noticed a few things but otherwise it looks great. Big no sarcastic thumbs up to you for some great work. Keep it up.

Cool addition, though a little buggy due to being from another game originally I'm guessing. Nevertheless it is a very cool looking addition. Looking forward to seeing some more of this type added to NWN soon!

Wow...outstanding work!...i got 1 request heh...can you make this CEP compatable?? that would be insane!! this new armor model is an example of wat ALL NWN ARMORS SHOULD LOOK LIKE...REAL ARMOR!...great work..KEEP IT UP!!

any new models comin out soon?..post'em plz!

This is not just "inspiration"... the model has been taken and reExported for nwn. This is a full copy of the orignal model. I guess this is illegal, while taking inspiration from more or less famous stories has nothing illegal about it...

oh yeah, just scrolled down haks main menu... hmmm Shadowrun (FASA) , Dragonlance (Wotc, AND Weiss and Hickman),Stargate etc etc.. have they been bollocked? nope, and nor should they be.. else every pnp Rpg Ref who has ever shared information with another Ref (like say at a tournament or convention) would be in court.

If this armour is removed then in order to not be hypocrites, half the vault should be removed.

I'd love to see Aliens, Res Evil, Fading Suns, Elric etc represented alongside original stuff (as long as credit is given to the original creators).

Take deep breaths now... *its just a game*

*Groans and shakes head in hysterical disbelief*
Man this copyright +blocked+ again..
Hmmm... illegal? Less so than a thousand other haks, portraits, modules, PW worlds, weapons, etc. on the Vault.
I don't personally care what the fine line on the modification of a game model from Vampire is.. however i am sure that the rights to intellectual property should be no more or less important..im sure White Wolf Games (the creators of the Vampire: the masquerade mythos) couldnt give a flyfart about it...

How many haks, modules or ideas are derived, inspired or simply copied from other peoples work?

Hmmm... Lord of the Rings (which is VERY well represented), Stargate, Cthulhu, Rokugan, any DnD setting from Maztica to Planescape,DragonLance the list goes ever on(bearing in mind D+D is owned by Wizards of the Coast, who have given no specific permission to represent any of their worlds other than Faerun through the medium of NWN)yet no one moans at the Lotr hak builders that they'll get in trouble, or says to the OriRural builder and the CEP team, "you can't have that Clan Scorpion banner in there, its the property of Wizards of the coast!" if they do they'll have to dump stuff from the CEP coz (and boot Lotr and everyone else) the Dragon Kimono alone is an almost photographic copy of the Dragon shugenja picture i have. You cant just pick on this guy.
Take for instance d20 modern, and this is not a flame (i v.much like their work.. :), the d20 Modern title is owned by Wizards of the Coast, but im sure the d20 team is not being sued, and im sure there have been more pnp versions of d20 books purchased just as campaign ideas for NWN. i know i have bought eight, just for NWN.

Tolkien Enterprises HASNT sued the Lotr hakpak makers, Iron Crown Enterprises HASNT sued the MERP Hak authors etc. etc.i could go on all day but its already becoming a rant..

Basically i like this guys work (and yes it is his own if he worked to export and modify the pieces... which i find tricky myself) using another games models, fair play, i hope you make some more, im making some star wars stuff at the moment and intend to also use stuff for Cthulhu, LOT5R, and Mechwarrior. Since im making no money from it nor claiming the ideas as my own (in fact ill be tipping my hat to the creators in a big THANKYOU) then i for one could not give a +blocked+ what anyone else thinks and neither should you. It dosent harm anyone, as im sure by now the Vault would have been sued for its continued distribution of stuff nicked from other sources... Its just a +blocked+ing game, a great one, but just that... like just keep it real eh?

" Most unethical piece of sh!t I've ever seen. I hope he goes straight to jail."

I agree, these kind of comments serve no purpose in educating anyone and is pretty much akin to flaming. Cyan keep trucking indeed, its good to see more and more people modding. I just wanted to make sure it was done responsibly.

So that's why the models where deleted?! I did search for those..

Anyhow, Stealing is bad, but I don't call that stealing...
He did a nice work, besides, TEUTONIC KNIGHTS RULEZ!

Posted by Cyan_Bloodbane at 2004-12-11 17:40:00
@Nexus : Sure, my next step is modelling my own model and create a texture for it...However i don't think that i've stolen credit from someone, because i specified that i got the model from vampire. An other thing, if the authors of vampire have done an hard work for make it, why nhilistic software release the tool for import/export models and edit them?

Holavez

Posted by iceferret at 2004-12-11 15:36:00
I find it quite funny that people here seem not to care that laws that protect artists and creators are being broken so blatantly here. Im all for learning and experiment. Heck take apart any of your games and make cool +blocked+ until the cows come in. However when you begin to distribute textures/models and other game ressources across the internet you are infringing on all the hard work that went into the product. Ask anyone at bioware, and Im sure Steel Wind at DLA would agree as well nexus, that this is not a prudent path to take.

Nice idea, there was alot of custom content made for Vampire The Masquerade when it came out many years ago that was excellent. Community support kept the game alive for several years. You might try looking some of those models up as well as the stock ones that came in the game.

Posted by Cyan_Bloodbane at 2004-12-11 12:45:00
@Devan_Crowe : Yes i know, i'll fix it in the next release.

Wow, what a lot of uptight busy-bodies there are posting here. Y'know, I'm really glad life isn't fair, because if it were, I'd dread to think of all the awful things that would be coming to all of us - even the likes of Illegal_finder, iceferret and mr anonymous...

Posted by Cyan_Bloodbane at 2004-12-11 11:46:00
Only a thing, vampire is free for the modding.U can pick the resources from the zip file, i have only added it for nwn.

->FYI, using game ressources from other titles and converting them to nwn is quite illegal and unethical. These models are for the people that actually bought redemption and you are violating a whole slew of laws when you distribute them across the internet.

Looks very good!!!
Big and impressive armor. He looks mean.
I hope it isnt a illegal act to use this but that is up too the server admins to deside.

Nicely done anyway. Congratz to a first jobb well done and please keep it up. :)___________________________________________________________

This looks really cool. As for taking this from another game, it's not ripping them off, it's a tribute, an homage! ;)

Thanks for all comments. However i have seen other things taken from vampire...If it's illegal, the admins can remove it from the vault :).In the next version i'll fix the major bugs.

Oh... and one more thing, I've just tried the hak... and the shoulders (more biceps) are too wide, can't use the sholders models...
So try to do somethin with it...
great work, though
