Description
Updates and additions to the Wings/Tails parts, which can now be used on any creature (that supports wings/tails), interchangeably.

Secunder's FX wings are included in both the wings and tails 2das, so you can go nuts with those. ;)

wings/tails.2da: CEP II compatible, but new numbering may break the old hak numbering in many instances.

12/2/2006: another fix.
sorry, guys, but one mdl and two dds files were missing. the black and blue butterfly wings now have textures, and the kenku blue-grey wings are in!

GAH! okay, NOW it is really there and really working. thanks to ghett for noticing an error in the 2da files. fool missing space! if you downloaded between now and my previous comment, please get it again. or, edit the 2da files so there is a space between '2DA' and 'V2.0'

NOTICE: Version II of this should be coming out this weekend. it will be cep2 and 1.68 compatible. a few items have been renumbered. the FX sections have been pruned and extensively renumbered. the lame wolf and werecat tails were removed in favor of ryuujin's excellent work.
oh, and to top it all off, i got tired of tails sticking out of people's butt cheeks (read: devil tails), so i edited a LOT of tails to be positioned properly.

question: does anybody want this hak renamed to UniversalWT.hak? or keep the same name so you dont have to do rebuilds? ;)

UPDATE: 6/2006: finally added ryuujin and aperion's half dragon wings/tails, and lisa's plt wings/tails. Redownload. 2.66M.
ps: i saw my preview pic on the cep2 preview. wohoo! guess you got your wish. (er, now someone needs to tell the 'cep goons' i updated :X )

Umrahel,

which game are you trying to play? I'm pretty new to this, but it seems if the hakpak for the module you're playing doesn't include the wings files, then they won't show up. Try putting them in your override folder--the matchng #s shoud work.

thanks for pak but it seems i can only use default wings and tails for pc i edit the numbers for wings and tails in Leto AE on savegame but it doesnt show up in the game. got only default ones so far(angel, bird, butterfly wings and lizard, bone tails) please if anyone find a solution to my problem it'd be much appraciated.

I've been trying to play as an elf with angel wings for ages, got leto, didnt work, says it needs a hakpak, so i got this one. iv downloaded, extracted, but wher do u go from there? iv noticed lots of people asking, i dont understnad how you use it with in leto. so please please please help. sorry for being so rubbish with computers!

Nifty ^_^

Just a little side note, my gold half dragon model has it's own wing and tail which you can rip out if you want. The wings are unusual in that they're semi transparent and you can see the veins and stuff in them. The tail's a tail. (Gold, whiplike lizardy), well the preview screeny gives a good enough idea.

The tail even has a customs et of animations if anyone wants to nick them for their own tails.

Frankly, the lack of new PrC's, Tileset's, and useful wing/tail models were the 3 biggest disappoinments in CEP. They were frankly where I was hoping for more to be added, instead of more weapons that you can't even focus in, or new races that have been broken for aeons. Again, Bloodsong, Brow beat the CEP team into including this, things like this, actually qualify as expansions.

i turned the lizard tail into a variety of dragon/lizard tails of different colours.


to use the hak: extract to your nwn\hak directory.
to put them on your character, you must use leto (see the forums for details).
to create creatures that support wings/tails, see the txt file in the archive.

in case you didnt re-read the description, there, i updated this!
i didnt take out any of the fx, i just restarted their numbering at 94 so they all fit. if we end up with more than 94 regular tails, then i'll see about weeding those out ;)

the appearance.2da, wingmodel.2da and tailmodel.2da are in the hak.

i'll have to check the higher ones, haryon, thanks for the heads up.

i didnt edit or change the vfx stuff at all, i just put it all in there, since it wasn't taking up any resource space except in txt files. but i can see about editing those if there's a 255 limit.

you can't just activate wing/tail nodes on a creature, the model has to have wing/tail nodes inserted into it. which means all the mdl files have to be redone, and THAT would take up a huge chunk of space. so i only did the gargoyle, because it was really pathetic-looking :)

Nice hak.
Except :
- wings and tails above 255 are buggy (e.g. displays as some of the spike tails). I think the limit is 255 and it rolls or folds somewhere.
- some of sec's vfx are horrible (why waste a slot with a door, a waypoint or such).
- I got disappointed by the fact that among all lines modified in appearances.2da you activated only one tail node : the gargoyle. I wish (especially with the vfx) a lot of more creatures would get wings and tails nodes (or don't edit appearances.2da at all - why change the creature size category of the bone golem for example ?).

heyas;

i found a strange bug with this hak. when you create a base gnome or elf npc, they will have the spike-trap fx wings AND tails on them. i have no idea why, they should have none/none, like everybody else starts out with. this might be a problem with the standard bobbyknock and linu characters in the palette. if you create a new gnome/elf, you should be okay. or just change the wings/tails to none/none when you edit them.

I think they made the normal dragon wings by just opening the mdl, changing the texture paths and then saving it under a different name. Based on the number of errors I get with them sometimes having the same name in the mdl and therefore overwriting the others, I assume its right.
