Title  RLCore Gothic Estates 1.4
Author  Chandigar
Submitted / Updated  09-09-2004 / 07-25-2006
Category  Tilesets
Expansions  Works on all versions
Description
Features: The wind whistles through the trees as the aging manor creaks and groans. A single flickering light appears in the the upper window, winking in and out as the holder walks from room to room. A howl hoots somewhere in the distance, a single plaintive cry that suddenly cuts short as the stench or rotting flesh drifts in from the woods.

Containing all the tiles from the RLcore Gothic Garden tileset, this expansion adds 100% custom mansions, forests, roads and many other features as well as one sample map.

Release Notes: .... v1.4 : Fixed multiple walkmesh issues, sparkling issues, tile issues. Added clearing edge tiles and loadscreens.... v1.31 : Replaced a bad tile wok .... v1.3 : Added a new 'forestclearing' terrain and minor improvements to door appearances. .... v1.2 : Various minor fixes, erf is back in the zip, oops .... v1.1 : Grass/stone/leaf/road textures upgraded, forests have gone through a major overhaul. Expect higher polycounts for these. Caboose wheels fixed. . . Addon for empty greenhouses released July 25, 2006

Ah never mind regarding the placeables. I was referring to the interiors set, and had did not notice your ERF for the placeables.

Yes, great work indeed. Thank you.

I am curious as to why the placeables in this set are not mentioned anywhere. There are a great number of them included in the hak, but you have to know about them as well as fix the 2da to get access to them. Are they an easter egg for us intrepid hak divers?

@vanyamia: Not sure, I think its the same as of the version that they copied into CTP. Note that the two sets aren't necessarily compatible with each other.

Truly excellent and, as with the interior, essential for my League of (Un)Extraordinary Gentlemen campaign. One question though, is the tileset on the CTP site different in any way?

ooops on the double comment meant to comment on your other work.

Thanks for all your work. Now if I can get my scatter brain functioning properly I might be able to do a Ravenloft mod.

An innovative Tileset, as I'd expect from Chandigar, allowing for far greater possibilities than one might at first suppose...

Disturbingly, my first major use has been brightly lit with beautiful flower gardens and benevolent inhabitants... Must be something wrong with me... Where are my Gnoll?

PC-Maniac:
Its "gothic" as in gothic storytelling, gothic settings, vampires in ruined victorian mansions, steampunk, league of extraordinary gentlemen, etc. Its NOT meant to represent gothic architecture.

Maby to You (or Americans) this Age is Gothic.
But this Age is Enlightenment or Renaissance.

Author don't know history or history of architecture.

I wouldn't worry about PC_Maniac, Chan. He voted a 4.00 here but voted a 10.00 on Goudea and the Dark Team's Futuristic City.

He's just here to start trouble, I'm sure.

Apology for not voting sooner, but hey, I'm likely the oldest rookie in the Community and my mind tends to wander...and wander..and..There I go again. Great work and useful as all (can I say 'Hell'?)

Posted by Chandigar at 2006-12-27 21:03:00
Uh, there's plenty of non fantasy content available here. Did you give them all 4's too? Technically, any world thats not 100% real is fantsy. Please vote based on the quality of the product instead of whether or not it fits into your narrow view of what constitutes as fantasy. If you have a REAL problem with the set, let me know and maybe it can be worked out. Your comment was entirely unconstructive.

Ok, so it took longer than a weekend to get around to it. Better late than never right? The override hakpak for empty greenhouses is now available, see above. See notes in the readme in the zip.

Seems like a reasonable request. Should be relatively quick too, I may try it this weekend.

The only odd thing will be that you'll still need *something* underneath the raised walkways because you can't walk underneath them and it would look strange for there to be nothing there.

I agree that a 'clean' empty greenhouse would be much more useful than the current one... it's not like there is any lack of placeables in NWNs. If you do one more thing with this tileset that would be most welcome, Chandigar.

@Frostfyre
Hiya, and thanks! Unfortunately my time has become WAY too short lately (hence my unfortunate dropping of most NWN things) otherwise I'd convert this for you. Its not super hard, it just takes a bit of work. Maybe someone else can help? There are also some guides around that tell you how to convert tileset items into placeables, but you need a working 3d program like 3d studio MAX.

First, I wish to tell you how much I *love* this tileset, and the interiors! They are just what I needed for my module. Which brings me to a request: As someone with no modeling skills whatsoever, how might I go about getting the actual train part of the tileset as a placeable, to put in a big, Paris-style train station I'm setting up??? :)

I give this a 9.99!

I would give it a 10, but I would like to recommend a blank tile for the 'greenhouse' sets in the next update. A tile with no plants in it means people can use the greenhouse tiles as other buildings - think 'Grand Central Railway' in your goth city!

Posted by Chandigar at 2005-10-22 09:35:44
Sure, why not? :)

would this be good for non gothic related mansion stuff? for instance a crime lord's mansion?
