What is hunting without spears thrown? What self-respecting Achilles, Hectors, and Odysseus would leave home without one? I've made a series of throwing weapons for my ancient Greece module, and would like to share this with others in the community.
This hakpak replaces shurikens with javelins/throwing spears (tips/shaft/end, 6 of each), complete with visual effects and feats (all 7 weapon-specific feats). See the associated readme (in PDF format) for more details.

(Oh, for you non-land-lubbers... I've also thrown in throwable rapiers, for all these dashing pirates who want to cut ropes from afar =) )
Updated to Version 1.1; this adds the spear models from Deph's Armoury II (model 1-4, colours 8 and/or 9), as well as that from Trooper9's Greek set (model 16)
Sadly, I've yet to get this to work? Am I doing something wrong? I can't find to make the item with the creature wizard and I've tried substituting both shuriken and throwing axe but the models don't appear there either.
The PDF mentions a different named hak and an erf which are listed here.
Vaei's email listed there is no longer valid either.
My group is making a Rome mod for our Applications Programming class in University. This would be great if we could get this in.
I haven't used yet, but perhaps you could make it so it is a special ability that spears have where it would then create a dropped version of the weapon where it hit. This way you could have a character throw their spear at an creature and then pick it up without having to change from useing their close combat spear. _________________________ Time is never on your side.

A superb piece of work but just clarifying something, seeing that this hak needs a tlk to be functional, doesn't that make it uncompatible with the latest CEP pak as that requires a tlk file too? Sorry, I'm a newbie at this.

Can't just make a new one, as it's a ranged weapon, and we're limited to the # of ranged weapons the game can handle.

why not just make it a seperate weapon class rather than a replacement like cep does with tridents?

Vaei... as you've probably seen, Nexorcist has released his primitive weapons pack which includes two great flint/obsidian spears of a suitable length for use as javelins. Any chance you could stick 'em in? I have some animalistic 'elves' that need arming.
I'm not entirely sure about this, but following a Names Differ error message, I think you have misnamed some of the model files.
wthjv_m_241 to 243 should be renamed to wthjv_b_241 to 243
and
wthjv_b_241 to 243 should be renamed to wthjv_m_241 to 243
Maybe you did it this way for a very good reason, in which case please ignore my prattle.

Perfect! Just what I needed for my (Insert-Module-that-will-never-be-finished-here)! Actually I have been working on Prefabs. If you could make a non-overwriting, CEP compatible version I will mail you a money order for $2 pending you live in the US!
Hiya... great! Good to see it working out. A very likely trip-up point is that in baseitems.2da, the column which refers to ammunition used doesn't take in the actual index (nor index starting from zero), but something odd like index+1. Go figure =P

well, I *thought* was capable of switching them myself, but my brain is apparently completely shot.. as I've had *no* luck doing it myself.. I've got ISSIG's throwing daggers to replace my shuriken.. and trying a self-job of replacing javelin has been all but futile :-P Thanks in advance!

excellent! thank you. Alsoo.. you might consider putting up an alternate version that replaces darts with Javelin, for those who wish to keep Shuriken?
Just joking =) I've added both of them to the set, and updated it to version 1.1 - caveat, I haven't tested DephArmouryII ones in-game. Have fun with them!

Kleos is still in the writing/drawing-boards, is quite a major undertaking, and probably won't be completed at the earliest December/January-2006. The first half of the module roughly corresponds to the Iliad, and is more styled towards players that wishes to explore and be engaged in the personalities, emotions, and psychological conflicts of the men of Troy.
Anyhow, that's my teaser for you =)

I think I've tested all parts. I haven't figured out why they don't show up in the toolset - but they appears correctly in-game (sorry, that should go in the readme!) You can use the icon as a guide to how it would actually look.
If anyone has ideas on why it'd show up properly in-game but not in the toolset, I'd love to hear from you.

Looks pretty good thusfar.. however.. when I attempt to use appearance #24, upon using bottom #24, the entire model vanishes.. the same goes when trying to use the rapier appearances.. looks pretty good thusfar, just a few little bugs need to be sorted out.
