This hakpak disables minimap in areas of selected sizes: horiz x vert
*4x5
*5x6
*6x7
*7x8 and so on, so forth, up to
*21x22
Previously Minimap-disabling can only be done by manipulating tilesets, which are not only tedious processes, but also count towards the upper limit of maximum 24 tilesets imposed by the BioWare engine. Additional caveat using that approach is that its not selective all areas that uses that tileset will not have a minimap available; the flipside is that they work only for the particular tileset that has been altered.
Here I present a novel approach to the problem; to construct an area that you wish to hide the minimap, simply construct (or resize) that area to be of one of the above listed sizes. There is no need to manipulate tilesets on an individual basis.

This is an updated version of the hakpak I've posted over a year ago. It now applies itself to a large collection of off-diagonals; easily accessed, but seldom conflicts with existing areas. Instead of the "blank" void that was left behind, a message is now displayed.

Excellent little tool.
However, you need to reverse the sizes listed in the docs to get it to work properly. Thus, instead of 3x4, you need to use 4x3, the larger number first.
It works fine with the lastest CEP2.3, just put it at the top the hak lists.

Hello !
First thank you for this hak, it works fine :)
But i've a little problem : i'm french and the messageon the "minimap" is in english I would prefer a black minimap or another picture? How do I modify it please?
Hi can you tell me if your hak is completely compatible with the Cep,and if so where do you put it in relation to all the other haks?I tried to use it but it seems you actually size the area opposite to what you have said, largest size on left instead of right.I got it to work but when you edit the area again sometimes your hak dosent work?It must be conflicting with something.I have it at the bottom of the list of module haks so that could be the problem.Anyhow good work ill come back and rate you later.Andy _________________________ Three Headed Troll Art Wurks
Primogenitor & DW: yes, it does depend on a certain degree of goodwill on the part of the players (like many other things). With that assumption, this is as close as we can get - given how NwN works.
Eeep. The update still has to be uploaded :|

Not if the contents of this hak were merged with a larger server-hak

One problem though, since NWN only checks hak names not contents, if this was used on a server a player could bypass it by removing the contents of the hak leaving just the name. Or at least, I assume they could I havnt tested.
The long answer is that I've just noticed a "scrolling bar" glitch with the larger ones (when devising devious 16x16 mazes) - it doesn't affect the function, but is somewhat aesthetically unattractive. I think I can fix it and would post that version later tonight.

This is a gift from the gods for anyone trying to make mazes and such. :) Thanks.

One awesome thing about this is that we can finally make working mazes. Mazes suck with a minimap.
*4x5
*5x6
*6x7
*7x8 and so on, so forth, up to
*21x22
Is what you listed...
so you have 8x9, 9x10, 10x11, 11x12, 12x13, 13x14, 14x15, 15x16, 16x17, 17x18, 18x19, 19x20, and 20x21 as well?
If so... then yes this is a must have hak. :)

I like it. I hesitate to add another hak to my server, but you can be damned sure this is gonna come as a required for any mods I make in my own time, especially the underdark.. Muahahahah _________________________ Itinerant Admin: RPGModding.com - Where Modders Muster.

This one kicks butt! I always hated that anoying mini map that spoils the whole idea of mazes and stuffs like that :D
- Now its more fun to tease players that do illegal things with bringing em' to a crypt that takes ten hp per five seconds, its a freaking big arena with only ONE, very hard-to-find exit :) _________________________ Jesus saves...... and takes half damage.

Brilliant! Good work. I hope a feature like this is standard in nwn2..
Nice one, been looking into GUI customizing myself recently. Had seen all the Map panel mdl's for the variouse sizes but had'nt thought about that removing them would remove the map :P. Or at least im assuming thats how ya got it. Pretty cunning all the same.
