The Heartlands is a NWN Persistent world set in the Forgotten Realms around the region of the Western Heartlands.
The server can be found under "Roleplay" in Gamespy as "HD". Heartlands is a roleplay server.
Heartlands has lots of custom content not available in the standard NWN and expansions, including custom tilesets, subraces, appearances, and spells, all inspired by Forgotten Realms lore. I would also like to thank some of our fantastic community custom content creators for some of the work they've done on tilesets, placeables, etc. most notably Lord Rosenkrantz and Lord of Worms, both who have added some amazing tilesets to the community.

The Heartlands is one of the most beautiful, well-thought out RP servers that I have ever played, and I've been on several. So, what is it that makes it different than all the rest?
Well, for starters, it's just plain beautiful! Granted, there are a lot of haks to download, but every single one of them makes this place worth it. It is visually stunning.
Second, while visually stunning is all well and good, it means very little if there aren't any DMs around to bring the world alive. The Heartlands doesn't fail on this count either. The DMs are always coming up with something to make your characters' lives that much more interesting.
Third is the player base. While small, it is continually growing and the RP is, in a word, phenomenal!
So, if any of that sounds like something that piques your interest, stop by and see for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed.

The Heartlands is -the- best, and most beautiful, server I have ever played one.
From the very start, everyone has been extremely friendly and willing to help with anything. The builders have done a "beyond" incredible job with everything. So many people are against "haks" because they're too lazy to download them or for whatever other reason, but the truth of the matter is that haks -will- greatly improve a server. They can achieve what no script alone, can.
This server is ever growing and carries many "unique" things that are made -by- the staff. There's still a -loooong- list of incredible stuff that is being worked on that will make this server even more enjoyable(x100, lol).
I say "Anyone who is looking for an incredible RP server, come here. Get past your reluctance to download haks and you will experience and amazing, friendly, and well made RP server.
Tilesets, heads, clothing, 2da's, and way way more is already in the module, and there is a lot more to come.

The building is awesome! It brings the areas alive. NPCs walk into inns and out of inns, the waitress moves back and forth serving the patrons, the areas are beautifully designed and fit the mood of their role. At my euro times are few players, usually around 3 (at same time, more in total) and they are good players and very fun to play with.
The DMs do a splendid job with well thought out plots with failure as a clear option :D which makes successes even more enjoyable and make the plots much thrilling.

Well done PW. I like it very much. Areas are well made and consistent, dungeons challenging and good for solo and group adventuring and ruleset well planned. I like the low magic side as it brings each character classes' strengths better into forefront. Low magic also provides smoother challenge curve from 3rd level up and makes for fewer balance headaches in my experience.
I also like starting area selection.
Server also has active developing team so yes, as a player I am liking what I am seeing. Thumbs up from me.

I've worked with this group before. They make beautiful worlds and they have revived several worlds that were on the brink of extinction. Great role players, experienced modders, and overall some of the best players I've come in contact with. The world has everything from in game quests, to fun dungeons, to excellent rp. A good core group of people.

This is a great place. I'm not just saying that cause I'm on staff either, but we'vevgot a core of really great people and I hope we can add a few more quality people as well. :)
