Title  BTH Swamp
Author  Barry The Hatchet
Submitted / Updated  04-17-2006 / 10-23-2007
Category  Tilesets
Expansions  Works on all versions
Description
BTH Swamp V1b4: There are two swamp tilesets in this hak. The first is a remake of John Hawkin's TB Swamp and the second is a remake of the CODI Daggerdale swamp (Shadguy's version).

Both tilesets have been textured to look similar and I have imported additional models and terrain to add some variety.

The imaginatively named BTH Swamp 1 used TB Swamp as the base tileset. I have added a number of retextured forest models along with Rural trees and roads. This tileset also makes a good alternative to Bioware Forest if you are looking for something a little dark and dank.

The equally imaginatively named BTH Swamp 2 used the Daggerdale Swamp tileset as a base and I have added retextured Rural trees, roads and some Forest tiles.

Both tilesets have loadscreens and a complete set of correctly textured mini-maps.

Credit to the creators of the tilesets & models I have used to create BTH_Swamp: John Hawkins, Ilmarta, StickyGirl, Shadguy & LOK. I think I may have adapted some textures from one of Worm's tilesets as well.

I found some notes I'd made on the way some of the BTH Swamp 1 terrain interacts. I've posted the notes as a readme file.

Cheers

One of three greatest swamp tilesets available on the vault! Plus some extra features not encountered in other tilesets.

Sorry for lack of comments, and feedback but this is because of my rotting language...

BTH Swamp V1b4 corrects the problems that were raised by slink.

Thanks for the comments and feedback

Also, you lost the door to the temple. Your tbs20.set file should contain a door for tile 40.

[TILE40DOOR0]
Type=66
X=4.25
Y=0.0
Z=-0.1
Orientation=-90.0

There is a problem with your log ends. Specifically, the one on the top of Cave Entrance 3, in Swamp 1, but it also appears on the ground in places. The mdl file specifies tbs_logend012 as the bitmap. What is supplied in the hak is tbs_logend01.

Very nice.

Based on the effort and the swearing coming from BTH, these tilesets are gorgeous.

Swamps were seriously lacking a good tileset. Now we have two.

Always good to try something new in a module. Thanks for the great addon.

Nope. I used retextured versions of the edge tiles from the original tilesets.

I have added only a subset of the Bioware Forest models and the bridge model that TTF edge fix 1 refers to is not included in either swamp tileset.

And while the solution offered by TTF edge fix 2 looks good for for a forest, it doesn't exactly suit a swamp.

I'm partial to swamp set 1, but they are both excellent. Great job! Thanks!
