These files replace the "Nordic-Track" run animation and "Silly Walk" with the original (Pre-HotU) movements while still retaining the new cloak and tabard animations from the version 1.68 update.
"Old_Mvmt_New_Cloaks_2.5" is all the base animation files including the new Large Phenotypes.
"Old_Mvmt_Fantasy_Dress_2.0" is a hak pak to be used in conjunction with Lisa's Fantasy Dresses, which can be found here and in the newly-released CEP2.
"Old_Large_New_Cloaks_1.0" contains the Large Phenotype animations for anyone who already downloaded version 2.0 of the base animations.
I've tried to fix as many clipping problems as possible. The ones that remain also exist in the current 1.68 animations and would require serious alterations to eliminate.
See the ReadMe files for known issues and installation information. Please leave a comment here if you run into any problems.

Does anyone know if someone has fixed the new coats to work with the old-style run? Mods are using them these days and sadly there seems to be no fix. :(
This is THE most outrageous thing I have seen in NWN, and I have been around since the very beggining. How anyone can believe this hilarious jumpy-jumpy walk is better than the so-called "tracking walk" is completely beyond me. I showed the animations to exactly 24 persons, and each and every last of them thought they looked ridiculous compared to the 1.68 modifications.
I really hope I did something wrong and the files were somehow corrupted or had conflicts with my overall overrides, because if this is the way a contribution worthy of a 10 looks like, I think Ragnarok and his DLA team are beyond human standards.
Yeah, I know I may sound too harsh, but really, people, why are you so yippie about this?... I mean, I can understand how things like Harry Potter may work for feeble minds... but...

These are most excellent, I've made a small mod so that the a_fa.mdl can work with Vaei's custom animations. I haven't seen the robe issues yet, perhaps I might be able to fix that as well once I see what the problem is.
Yes, it would be excellent if an update could be made so the animations could work with the 1.69 robes etc... _________________________ - R-Uni

A must-have. The old animations are simply.... better.
Any chance of updating this to work with the new overcoat robes with the 1.69 beta?

Great! It's compatible with visible cloaks - very well done...
I'd not have thought how much of a difference this makes - but once you compare the before-and-after animations, there's no going back, this is an essential override!

This is so great! I've got the Diamond Edition of Neverwinter Nights installed, and when I played it, I was like: "Okey dokey, why is my character acting like a cardboard figure?" And I saw a hakpak that did this same thing on FK The Shadow Relic. At first, I flinched, but then I realized it looked much better--- and much more realistic--- than the expansion's. In other words, excellent job! Keep it up!!! _________________________ All the tales of the greatest adventures never mention the fact that most of them were spent walking, do they?

Does anyone know if this fixes the animation crash from sneak attacks (as the other old animation override does)? I notice this one doesnt modify the combat animations, which I assume is where the problem lies.. of course, no one really knows what causes it, other than the HoTU animations, but I'd still like to know, if anyone has used it for such.

I'm glad someone did this, the Bioware animations are horrible. _________________________ -=Jaysyn=-
As an early Halloween present I've added files for Large Phenotypes. I'll see what I can do about the remaining phenotypes in the next week.

Earlier today, after unpacking the mdl files from "Animation Fix for HotU" (contributed by Humlebi) I was assured that your work would fix my 1.68. With those files in override folder my female elves were walking like in original campaign. Also, human male walked properly, with shield nicely swinging on the side. However, phenotype large was mostly unaffected by those files.
I ~so~ approve what you did with the shields. A hybrid of pre-HotU casual swing and Hotu's rigid stance!
Sorry for some off-topic comments not related to your work but I'm still baffled how my 1.68 patch came with these issues. I shall take this to the appropriate forums.
I downloaded your walk/run fix and it fixes my 1.68! You healed my nwn! If you consider completing the whole package with large characters too, you will only have to fix five of those all possible twelve. It seems that large men of all races and large females from dwarves and half-orcs share same animations with normal bodytype. Only human, elf, half-elf, halfling and gnome large females are special. I tested.
My hat is off. I was considering 8 for those missing femmes but John Cleese in screenies cracked me up! :D
The arm synchronization problem is a result of two different animations being used. Apparently there is no way to sync them. The post-HOTU files have separate animations for the arms when holding weapons that do not include the legs. The old animations did not.
What I'm doing with my revised files is to deactivate the separate animations (like they used to be) or only animate the forearm (so the shield and bow are held at an angle, but the bicep animation is used from the existing walk animation)
Again, not sure if I'm actually making any sense here. You kind of have to look at the files to see what it going on.
As for phenotypes, I haven't checked, but I don't believe they have distinct run/walk animations for them.

I have not yet tested this but even reading about this made my heart leap like a gasell. I would like to ask few questions about the process. Can you tell where is the synchronisation done? Can it be altered/set correct? You see, my clean 1.68 (both OC and full HotU) featured arm and shoulders sync problems. One handed melee weapons and bows result left hand swinging too slow, especially on female PCs/NPCs. With two handed weapons the free hand syncs all right. All out of sync animations are soft and flowing. Also running has no synchronisation problems.
Will the alterations in your contribution be phenotype insensitive?
In you opinion, would it be technically possible to fix animations sync problems via an override?
Funny, my OC has now two main plots! Wailing Death and cerebellum disorder on humanoids. =) I'm sure your work will turn out to be a shining success. Thank you.

Oh, and regarding the HOTU crash, if it was happening with the existing, unedited animations it will almost certainly still be happening with these. I am altering the existing animation set to replicate the old walk/run, not replacing it with the old set.
Been busy at work lately, but I did manage to edit the female walk. Made a few changes so the weapons don't move so radically and she doesn't smack herself in the face with the crossbow anymore.
Still need to add the walk to Lisa's dresses and edit the male walk before I can post everything. Might have them ready by Sunday, but it will more likely be some time next week.

Did you ever get the time to look at the walk anims?
