v168d contains an entirely new tlk and top hak with the same name as the last 'c' update. Please be sure to use the files from this 'd' update, overwriting the previous files.
Ooops, the new tlk didn't make it into the rar. You'll need the crap312_v168d_tlk which contains the latest tlk
Easy to install, simply replace whichever crp2da.hak you are using with this 'top' hak, and switch to the included tlk.
Of course, you'll need to be updated to 1.68 and have the new CEP 2 :)
Extra features:
New custom toolset pallets for DM's and Builders: Doors, Creatures, Items & Placeables.
Additionally, you will notice a new hak is included: crap312_scripts
This hak is intended for fresh builds using the included Base Module. It has all of the crp scripts that are not meant to be altered, essentially hardcoding them into your module via hak. This is convenient for builders, as that huge list of crp_xxx scripts is now tucked away under hak resourses. The control script, as well as the mod_event handlers are still as before, as they often require editing for individual projects.
For those updating an exsisting crap module, I recommend that you do not add the crp312_scripts.hak since the only way to actually take advantage of it would be to delete all of the crp_xxx scripts except for crp_inc_control and the mod_xxx event handlers. Lot of work.
We hope you enjoy this update.
Hopefully an official release will come in time.

Has anyone used the rope climbing and jumping and spike hammering animations elsewhere? I could spend the time to dig through this system to find them and figure out what it takes to make all of this compatible with Project Q which has a number of nice animation packages in it as well, but if anyone has extracted these basic systems out that would be very helpful.
I like C.R.A.P. but it is mostly for the pit falling, climbing and jumping systems, which are awesome. _________________________ Vault Submissions | Arnheim | Beyond Vives
All of the custom motions you see in the system are due to custom animations created by C.R.A.P. Team member Plywood Chicken. He took his time and did a great job on those animations. We are all very proud of him!
Other great animations in the system worth checking out include, but are not limited to, Rest (lay down on side), Climb Ladder, pound spike into ground, search area, break dead branch from tree...

Urk, posted under the wrong log in. :( Apologies to the rest of the D20 team, the post below is mine.
Excuse me, it's me again.
I'm back with questions to ask.
I had some fun trying out the small demo module that was provided with this C.R.A.P.
There are 2 things of which I'm very impressed by, and might hope to try them in a module of my own.
(1) - I really love the jump action which was made when you entered the pit and had the option to jump over it. (well that, or down it)
I've had a look round on the vault here to see if anyone else had used anything the same, (with regards to scripting) but they are all either jumps from mid-air to the ground, (using the animation to make it happen) or just a simple "JUMP_TO_WAYPOINT" (or something like that) without any actual jumping or animations to make it happen, which to me is rather plain and boring!!
I do like the jump from mid-air option, but if you were to jump a chasm or leap straight across, then I would much prefer the jump which has been used in this C.R.A.P module instead!
Your erf scripts provide an "ANIMATION_JUMP" from the constants list in the Toolset. I'm just wondering how you managed to make this kind of script function in the first place. It's really cool!
(2) - The other script function I really love that you have used, (and really impressed by the most!) is the effect to make it look like the pc is really climbing back out of the pit again via the rope which was used.
I really have to ask.... but how did you create this effect?
(I thought that was AMAZING! BRILLIANT!) What scripting functions did you use to make the pc actually climb up the rope and out of the pit back to higher ground again??
I'm really amazed by all this!! Really, I'm actually quite speechless at this point! I don't know what to say hehe.
Your scripts make it obvious from the jump action that "ANIMATION_JUMP" is in there to be used, but I cannot find the scripting functions you used for the climbing.
Please excuse me, as I am by no means any type of scripting wizard and therefore I don't really have much in the way of scripting knowledge behind me really. All I have is rough ideas here and there.
I would love to be able to try out those 2 scripting functions for myself in a self made module! (the jumping and climbing) The jumping part I think I may be able to handle, but I'll need some advice on how to create from scripting... the pc climbing up a rope please, and using the pit.
Also, is it possible to create the pc climbing down a rope, aswell as up? How do you do this please?
Thank you for the info on what the c.r.a.p acronym means. :)
Its meaning isn't placed on this page anywhere, as far as I can see. It would have been helpful if the author, or authors (Accerak & Rosietreats) could have done so to make it look more specific!! But ahh well... nevermind.
Thanks again for letting me know.
Btw - I found that since this is specific to 1.68, it doesn't seem compatible with 1.69 as yet. It would be nice if it was updated sometime in future to be made so!
Thanks again.

Community Roleplaying Adaption Project, I believe. Though, as ever, there's a chance the name was picked to fit the acronymn ;)
In the documentation it says that you can use the rope climbing to get the PC to otherwise inaccessible areas, and not just to get out of pit traps. I was hoping this meant climbing up to otherwise inaccessible clifftops, e.g. in the rural tileset. Anyway, I followed the instructions that worked with the pit trap scenario. I raised a small platform in a rural area which was inaccessible, i.e. no ramps leading up to it. Then I placed a pit edge placeable at the bottom, and a waypoint at the higher level, then set the destination variable of the piedge to the tag of the waypoint above it. My PC throws the rope & grappling hook and climbs up ok, but then instead of reappearing at the higher level he reappears somewhere just inside the cliff-face on the lower level, just to the left of the pit edge placeable and then climbs out of the cliff. I don't get why this is happening considering that the waypoint is on the higher level. Anybody know what's going on?

Sorry guys.
I've been (unintentionally) MIA for quite some time now.
To my surprise, the online forums and documentation have disappeared.
I believe I have a copy somewhere archived for good measure. I'll see if it exists and/or can be found and get it up here.
Okay, It mostly works great, but I have a small problem - the module seems to be ignoring crp_inc_control. Anyone else seeing this? (Wow, I really, really wish somebody had the documentation.) _________________________ I drank what?

This is awesome and i plan to use it but i would like the original documentation too. Could you please upload it, Rosie?
Thx in advance

Looking for the original CRAP documentation that was posted on their website.
"crp_base_hak_doc.rar" In this file is a small htlm file called "Base Hak Documentation"
This file is one page long and it is a summary. At the bottom of the file is a link to there web page that is not online anymore. "If you want to access the base module online doc and learn more about it, click here." This use to link to pages of documentation with pictures ect... It is not what I am looking for but thank you anyway.

It's exactly the same documentation, actually (I'm talking about downloading the crp_base_hak_doc.rar), it details everything about the hak pack. The other small things you can find out in the inc script. _________________________ City of Arabel
I know about that simple documentation. What I am looking for is the detailed documentation that was pages long that use to be on there web site I believe you could download or view it on the web site. That's what I trying to find but thanks any way.
I understand that the C.R.A.P. team called it quits, but does any one have a copy of the detailed documentation they had on there web site?
Thank you C.R.A.P. team for all the work you have done for the community

yea it was a shame this got dropped for n2..it was started but RL got to our programmers...further down (it stood for Classic Roleplay Adaption Project).
Maybe one day this will get lumped into one of the other projects.

Shame about that. :( This is such good work it's a pity it'll not be updated.

Rosie/Asserak,
I noticed there was an update on the 2nd of march. Which one did you update and what did you change? Second question is; Is this compatable with Rosie's adventurers pack?
Congrats Rosie! You definitely deserve this for everything you did for the C.R.A.P. users! _________________________ "Victory is built from the ashes of your enemies." - unknown

I'd heard about C.R.A.P., but it was even better than I'd expected. Great system - really breathes life into tabletop-style NWN. Incredible attention to detail (the hammer strokes are timed to the sound effects!) on classic tasks such as jumping, attaching ropes, and listening at doors. Thanks for all the hard work.
