This tiny hak creates a new creature faction called Neutral. The faction can be found in the drop-down Faction list on the Advanced tab of a creature. It makes the creature neutral to all other factions, and vice versa. Neutral beings will not attack players, NPCs, or monsters in the area. They will generally not react to anything unless they are attacked first.
The Neutral faction has several uses in a module. For example, you can use it for friendly NPCs in the middle of an area full of monsters, without concern that the monsters will attack them and break your area. If your module has crafting features, the Neutral faction is good to use for non-hostile animals that can be hunted and skinned by players without making all your merchants and NPCs hostile toward the crafter. This faction is also useful for "statues" and other placeables that come to life and attack when a certain condition is met, or any time you want a creature or NPC to ignore combat or other events that take place around it. You can also create many impressive special effects with minimal effort by assigning specific creatures or NPCs to the Neutral faction, then using scripting commands to affect only members of that faction. This will allow you to target certain creatures while leaving all the others untouched.
The faction in this hak differs from those created with the Faction Editor in that it has no parent faction, and can be added to a module and used immediately without the need to build the module, which can take quite a while.
Full instructions are in the included readme file.

GENIOUS! _________________________ @===============================================@
Vinchenzo made a post here.
Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.
This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:
Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...
Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.
Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass.
There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol)

Thought as much, thanx. One more question - could I edit your hak and make the faction non global in the hak or can this only be done in the factions editor?
Rikki: With regard to adding new factions to your module, each does indeed have to be made "aware of" all the others in order to properly react to them. This can be done with BioWare's GFF Editor tool, but it is tedious work. :-) _________________________ Realms Of Destiny PW
Hi, Rikki! NWN seems to default to all factions having a Global Effect, so Neutrals everywhere will react to an attack upon any one. This can be easily changed by using the Faction Editor to uncheck the Global Settings checkbox for the Nuetral faction. This will give Neutrals "line of sight awareness" that will cause only creatures who actually "see" an attack to react to it. Unfortunately, this often requires a rebuild of your module, but if this is done before any creatures are assigned to the Neutral faction, this seems to take minutes rather than hours. I hope this helps, and enjoy the hak! :-) _________________________ Realms Of Destiny PW
Is this faction set to universal (I think that's what it would be called in english), meaning you attack one neutral and all other faction members are hostile or is it only faction members within reach are hostile, or just the one you attacked?
I like the fact that you do not have to rebuild the whole mod if you add this faction is a nice idea, especially if your mod is a huge PW.
That makes me think... if I wanted to put all my factions into one hak... thinking... probably would not work... any other than neutral faction would have to know the other factions... thinking... adding a faction into the hak would mean changing all of the previous factions in the hak to work properly with the new faction...
Just some thoughts, I hope I did not confuse you - hehe
Thanx for the prompt reply... I will vote once I have tested it...
Rikki: A similar faction can be created in the toolset with the editor, but this one differs in two ways. It can be used right away without the user needed to Build the module in the toolset, which can take well over an hour. It also has no parent faction, which makes it completely independent with regard to certain scritping and global faction functions. It allows for importing and exporting of Neutral creatures without them all turning hostile to PCs, so long as both mods have the hak in place. _________________________ Realms Of Destiny PW
