Welcome to the CSP:
Inspired by the CEP, the CTP, the CMP and the CCP, this is my contribution to the sets of Nwn community compilations: the Community Skybox Pack (CSP). Tired of seeing the same old skies high above all your world's lands? With the CSP it is possible to have different skies for every conceivable terrain type. You'll find clear skies, stormy skies, skies that are full of stars and skies that are full of planets! Even skyboxes that simulate environments, such as jungle, forest, underwater, and outer-planar to name just a few. All skies, have been carefully selected from among the very best that has been seen on the Vault.
There is so much, we couldn't show it all in the pictures or fit it all in the demo module! With the CSP, you'll have interesting skies for any world.
Demo Module Requirements:
- The Demo Module requires Nwn 1.68 as well as SoU and HoTU in order to run. -
Download Instructions:
- The download has been separated, into four smaller parts. When extracting, you must have all the parts to extract the entire CSP. Begin extraction from part one, to start extracting all parts. -
For those who want just the .2da Hak File, so you can play modules that use the CSP without having to download the entire thing, you can now get just the CSP .2da Hak File, available here. Thanks to Sherincall for getting it set for me so that I could upload it. ;)
*** Updated to v2.0! Fixed CCS skies by the CTP Team have been added... as well as all the new skies from their skybox pack. Credit for these goes to both the CTP Team as a whole and to Christopher, especially. Credits for all other skies have been included in the documentation that comes with the CSP. Thanks all! ***
*** Updated to v2.1! A New Skybox, called Vortex, which was created by NinjaWeaselMan, had been added in this new version of the CSP compilation.***
*** Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 Update... a missing file, ctpskyn_006.tga, has been found and included in the Hak.***

@Superfly, the larger the file, the harder it is to download. I for one, have difficulty downloading a file thats 200mb+ if its not a torrent. For some reason it always cancel itself 1/10 through.
Wait what? I'm confused. The demo requires expansion... does the normal files do as well? (Im sick of hakpaks being incorrect when it says "works on all versions" or "NWN 1.x" >:(
Why so many parts? This could just be one part.... _________________________ X-Fire NWN1 guild page: Link

Overall the quality of these skyboxes is exceptional. A few have some problems, but the hak pack is still worth the download. Thanks. _________________________ Vault Submissions | Arnheim | Beyond Vives

Today featured a minor update... more a bug fix, actually. A missing file for one of the night skies was found and added into the Hak Pak properly. _________________________ Chaos is not about anarchy! It is creativity that is boundless and unrestrained.

Saduj, thanks very much for the vote!
It's most definately appreciated.
Izk, I must agree that an image like Bruegel's "Triumph of Death" would be intense indeed, with all those undead skeletons and the like on a rampage in the background. Probably be good for a battle sequence involving the undead.
Someone should make a series of what could be called "Classical Painting Skyboxes", with stuff by Dore, Bosch, Bruegal, and others in it. I've seen a lot of classical paintings as painting placeables, and a few as loadscreens, but as skyboxes it would be a unique idea that we haven't seen done before.
As for "The Fountain", I must say the celestial sequences at the end were a feast for the eyes, as was the "Tree of Life" sequence. A landscape that depicts that tree would make another awe-inspiring skybox image for Nwn!
With so many great ideas brought up in these posts, perhaps someone with the skills to make such skyboxes a reality will pick up on these ideas and give the community some great new skies. ;)

Had to come back and comment on the Dore link for a skybox idea, as I'm a huge fan of his work. Fantastic! Also, see the movie "The Fountain". There's a celestial/cosmic skybox for ya. And there's a lot of Hellish medieval-style paintings that would make great skyboxes. Similar to the Ash Wasteland that's in here. Pits of fire, jagged moutains in the distance, evil towers, and of course, souls in torment. Now if only I could get a skybox of Bruegel's "Triumph of Death", somehow. :) _________________________ Silent Hill-ish Hak | Skybox Experiments | Creature/NPC Reskins Vol 1 | Works In Progress

Fantastic. I was tempted to give this a lower vote because of the seams, but considering that wasn't your doing, and this is just such a great addition I give it a 10, and maybe I'm a little biased because of your tile combo. :)
These require some experimenting and in-game testing to use. Fog colors, horizons, even area size all seem to affect the look of many of these. Ended up creating a wand that let's me scroll through them in-game. It will even toggle night and day for the skies that support it. Well worth the effort, though.

Many of these should well have been included in 1.69 (not to say it's still impossible, I suppose) and should be a part of every toolset for builders,

Obviously my wife is right - I AM getting senile, but I'd have sworn I voted some time ago. Probably thinking of 2.0 or.. Whatever, better late than not at all. Very nice indeed.
