This useful pack contains all of the terrain placeables made by markrendl, all of the Egyptian placeables made by MGSkaggs, the Arcane Space placeables by Nightbringer, and the full contents of the Overhead Water by Jackal_GB and the Bloodthorne Placeables Hak Paks. Lastly... A collection of useful floor
coverings and ceilings placeables also created by markrendl has been added. The result is a universe of whole new choices for those builders who might want something new, different, exotic, or strange in their modules.
Chaos Placeables is a very unique compilation, for use with CEP only.
This set contains both a .hak file and an .erf file, containing all of the placeables. *WinRAR is recommended for extracting!
New version! v1.3 includes Placeable Houses and Huts by NWC Snake. Both of the original readme files for these have been included, along with my own.
New Version! v1.4 includes the Rays of Light by Grzech_U, as well as Gothic
City Placeables by Kelebalf, and the Placeable Buildings by Grzech_U also.
Avatarship Placeables by Zonker; Lion's Head Bust and Lion's Head font, both by Jaffbarrow. Original readme files have been included wherever possible.
New Version! v1.5 now includes all of lordofworms' beautiful WoRms Placeables Forest Edition v1. These trees & rocks, are so wonderfully done, that they have required me to update this compilation just to add them! Great stuff indeed.
Minor Update: The conflicting entries in the Placeables.2da file, reported by Daijin, have been fixed. Thanks Daijin!
New Version! v1.6 brings you two sets of quality placeables: Obelisks by DNC NWN Computer Labs and Elemental Forges by v3par. Sure to please any builder!
New Version! v1.7 adds 112 Paintings by Chanteur, Mr. X, and Lupin III.
Plus, 108 Paintings by MNMWarlock and still more fine Paintings by Tukaram.
Besides Paintings, I've added Tukaram's and Twisted Kitty's Carpets, as well as JDA's Chult Placeables, Evergreen Tree Placeable colv1 by diademus, Flowing Liquids v1.1 by The Amethyst Dragon, Maztica Pots Revisited by the talented DrHoo/Hydromancerx... and RK Placeables v2.5 by lord rosenkrantz rounds it out.
Minor Update: Added the Tapestries & Wall Maps set by Borden Ha'elven.
Minor Update: The new Hak Pak that is available, chaos_placefix, includes my recent CEPv2.0 Battlefield Placeables Reflection Fix, which fixes the issue with reflections on armored corpses, bodies, and placeable weapons, whereby they appeared slightly transparent in the toolset and in-game. The fix fully corrects them, making them reflect as they should. Place the chaos_placefix hak on top of the chaos_placeables hak and associate both with your module.
New Version! v1.8 adds all new content including... the Placeable Carrack by _Six_Six_Six, the Moons of Krynn by Tonton alias Nekorkahn, MGSkaggs Tower Placeables Pak 1 by M.G.Skaggs, Orrery by StoneMonkey, and lastly the awesome Space Ship(Colonial Viper) by Flavien Clermont alias Sphax / KzimiR666.
New Version! v1.9 adds the Necronomicon and Ash's Car placeables from the Evil Dead Hak by Aramis SyX. Perfect for all fans of Evil Dead! Also, the magnificently wicked Orcus Statue by ShadowM has been added along with the LOTR Map by Tom_Banjo that nicely depicts Middle Earth. Monferrat's Simple Stained Glass Windows add more variety to interiors and Okto's UO Runes will bring back memories of the Ultima CRPG games. Sic jake's Propaganda Posters v1.0 are there just for the odd effect.
New Version! v2.0 adds the Statue of Liberty, Playground Placeables, Sandbag Barricade, Gas Pump, Chainlink Fences, Incubator and Cloning Tanks; even Aircraft and Cars... all by the talented D20 Modern Team. Also included are the PHoD Metal Placeables and PHoD Starship Walls & Pillars by the PLUSH HYENA OF DOOM, as well as the Starship Ceilings & placeables by stacy_19201325. Other miscellaneous D20 Modern placeables round out this set. The Jukebox placeable was designed by DrHoo.
New Version! v2.1 adds the Stained Glass Windows by Borden Ha'elven and the Law and Chaos banners by me. Also, the CEP entries are updated. A major new addition is the chaos_blueprints Hak Pak, which contains all of the placeable blueprints from the .erf file. It is an alternative method to importing the .erf; instead, you can just associate the new Hak with your module and all of the placeables and scripts will automatically be made available, as in the CEP, so long as you also have the chaos_placeables Hak Pak associated first. chaos_blueprints goes beneath the chaos_placeables Hak Pak on your module's Custom Content priority list. Using the blueprints Hak Pak is less resource-intensive on the module, and allows for much faster loading than was possible before.
Although v1.7 for CEPv2.0 will always be kept available to ensure backwards compatibility, any new content will only be added to the CEPv2.2 versions (1.9 and higher) of Chaos Placeables.
The CEPv2.2 version does *not* use the chaos_placefix file, since CEPv2.2 has the battlefield placeables fixed in it.
Chaos_Theocrat, if you're still checking in on this page, could you reply to this post. I have a question about this hakpak. Thanks.

Sorry about this! What was I thinking?! I was trying to comment on another page!!

Hey! Unfortunately, I can't open any of your modules anymore! (Agrenost, Tul Gundar, Village Pack 7) I've tried emptying the override folder but I'll try reinstalling the haks; maybe that'll fix the issue. The game usually just hangs at the game loading screen before I can choose my character. Once a message popped up saying that the module file might be corrupted or a newer version of the game or toolset may have been used. My game is patched to 1.69 which is the latest as far as I know.
Anybody else come across this problem?

I am very new at merging 2da's but I've tried to make a CEP 2.4 compatible one using the "placeables" one from this hak. I'll be glad to share it so it can be merged into this hak.

I have always liked Tukaram's fantasy paintings. Did you include all 49 of them in this hak collection? Thanks!

Quick question. Do the Tonton moons rotate as per the original hak? _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

Dear Chaos_theocrat,
This is a fantastic compilation! I have waited a long time for Egyptian placeables compatitable with CEP. Not to mention all the other goodies you put in. Thanks for the hard work.
PS. Any chance of you and Jackal_GB getting together and making a mod with the story base of NWN Vault members working together , rather than attacking one another? On a serrious note, the comments you made earlier struck to my core, and I could not agree more. Have a great day. _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Today marks a new era for Chaos Placeables... sort of. A new Hak Pak has been created by yours truly that can be used instead of the .erf, for those who want better performance. The .erf is still there, though, for those who do prefer the old method. Also, some new placeables have been added, making for a whole new version. Enjoy! :D
Whatever the problem with the Chaos Placeables CEPv2.2 Part 2 was, it is fixed and working now. Just now, I left-clicked and downloaded it with no issues whatsoever. :D Same with the CEPv2.0 version. I downloaded them a coulple times previously too, just to make sure. Perfect each time! I also tried downloading both files at once, and it worked perfect that way, too.
So, it was either a Vault issue or a browser-related thing. Either way, it seems to be solved, so all is well. :)

Ok I found out the problem, I'm so used to left clicking everything but this one went renegade. Be sure to right click the part 2. _________________________ Life is but a Dream.

Speaking of keeping this pack going, today marks the official release of Chaos Placeables v2.0, which adds a huge amount of new placeables. This time the theme is modern and sci-fi. I merged almost everything from the D20 Modern placeables pack into this, with the exception being that I've left out anything that was buggy, broken, out of place, or redundant. It took about a week to put together and test, which is either really quick or a long time, depending on how you look at it. ;) I left out the spaceships this time, but may add them in a future version. (You never know!) - Farewell for now!!! :)

Glad to see your keeping up with this! Great stuff. _________________________ -----------------------------------------
Creation is 100% imagination, but hakpaks
are another story altogether! ;-)
I just did a test download for all of the Chaos Placeables files. They all download perfectly, and extract just as perfectly, which is good to know.
To me, jdeavila, what you described sounds like a problem on your PC. "C:" is the standard designation for most Hard Drives, and downloads always will save to the Hard Drive. So, one of two possibilities could be the case. 1: It is possible your downloads may not be saving to your hard drive correctly. Check and make sure your downloads are using the Hard Drive as their save destination, just in case they aren't.
2: It is possible you may have in some way set up your PC to save downloads to a disk. If that's the case, change your download path to the Hard Drive or insert the disk you are using for your downloads to save to. That should rememdy the problem, if this turns out to be cause of your error message.
I'd recommend completely re-installing your modem and it's drivers (if yours comes with drivers) just to be certain.
The modem, typically, handles all of a PC's downloads, so any malfunction of the modem *will* affect your downloads.
If everything on your PC is set up the right way, you should get a screen on which it says something like: "File Download - Do you want to open or save this file?" followed by the options to Open, Save, or Cancel. If this screen is not appearing when you click on a file to download, then it is certainly an issue with how your modem is set up.
All in all, I hope you were able to solve your problem since problems with ones' PC are never fun to deal with.
Tonight, I've updated Chaos Placeables to v1.9, and that naturally means not only full CEPv2.2 compatibility but it also means: NEW PLACEABLES!!! :D So be sure to check it out... and have fun.
jdeavila... first, install the latest version of WinRAR. I think it's up to v3.80 or so by now. Then, just click on one of the chaos placeables files to download it. Alternatively, you can right-click on a file and then select Save Target As, which will also allow you to download. If these things do not work for you, you may want to check and make certain your method of downloading is working correctly for .rar files in general. Just to be safe, also make certain your extractor is set up for .rar files and doesn't have them unchecked since that too can cause problems with such files. If it is, then you should be pretty much set.
Once you have all five files for the version of Chaos Placeables you want (either 1.7 or 1.9), extract the file marked part 1 and all 5 parts will then extract, giving you the whole pack. That's all you'll need to do.

I've just sent you an email to let you know about the update, Graymater, in case you don't get by the Vault today.
And, to everybody: Chaos Placeable is now v1.8, with new content. See the description, above, for full details.
:D Cheers!

I can certainly see your point as to the inherent complications. Pity, that, but as you say, there are indeed a great many *great* new items knocking about that would seem to beg inclusion in your pack.I do not envy you your having to pick and choose!
As you put it, on another note, I'm finding it more and more difficult to check the Vault regularly - anno domini, arthritis, etc - and if it is not too much to ask, may I give you my email address in the hope that as your Placeables are updated you could please drop me a quick note? I've no wish to be a nuisance, but it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and best wishes.
It's funny you should mention those, Graymaster... because I was ready to consider all of the Nwn2 placeables for full inclusion in Chaos Placeables when I noticed something about them that was to end up making that idea not really viable for me at this time.
I decided not to consider including the Nwn2 placeables when I looked at the contents of their hak paks and I saw that they contained portraits .2da files and custom portraits to go with the placeables. Were I to include them in my compilation, then every time I update Chaos Placeables I would also have to update any and all portrait hak paks I made so that nothing would overwrite. Naturally, I could indeed have removed the portraits and their respective .2da files, but then that would've necessitated having to assign portraits for them in the toolset that were never intended for them to have by the author. So, there is the issue I had with the Nwn2-Nwn1 conversions.
It is my hope that the CEP includes thegeorge's excellent placeables in their next version. Then, I would just have to update my portrait packs once, which would be a much more reasonable option than the others I mentioned.
However, on another note, I have seen some *great* new placeables coming out that don't use custom portraits, but right now there aren't enough of them to warrent a *full* Chaos Placeables update. When there are, however, you can be sure that Chaos Placeables will be up to v1.8; thanks very much for the good wishes, too! I appreciate it.
Farewell for now.

Noticed that you are as impressed as my wife and I with thegeorge's NWN2 Books, etc. Is there a chance you will be discussing with him the addition of such to a later version of your excellent submission? My continued good wishes. Mac
