Here is an early beta of the Shadowrunner Nights firearm system.
Still alot of work to do on it before its a fully working system and to be honest im not sure if its worth the effort. There are just so many hardcoded issues i cant get around and it does feel a bit like one large work around.
Its been made with SP in mind, you could probably achieve alot of this better with NWNX for a PW.
It only works for human male normal pheno at the moment.
It wont work for NPC's yet.
It wont work with cloaks and coats.
plenty of shadow problems.
Not implemented long range snipe feat.
Not implemented full auto feat.
Not implemented build/repair feat so you can upgrade guns with laser sights, silencers ect. The CC and scripting is there, just needs implemented.
not implemented different ammo types, EX , APDS ect.
Im not really a very good scripter so the scripts are very messy and could probably be made alot better.
the placeable cover system was put together at the last min and doesnt work too well yet. Really needs a better scripter than me.
The sound were put in last min too.
I will try and put together some documentation at some point.
Not sure if i will continue working on this, i quite fancy going and modding Deus Ex. Depends on the responce i get from this and if anyone is willing to help me out with scripting, 2da, tlk work.
I also added in jez's new lockers to the crates and barrels hak.

Update- updated the module because of some dodgy scripting errors. The miss effect works now but its still not perfect.
e.g If you are using 2 pistols you dont get a miss effect if you kill the target with your first shot. Stuff like that.
Im also not sure if im using SHAPE_SPELLCONE right.
Instructions- open module -> Select Premade Character -> Create New Character.
Special Abilities -> Shadowrunner for the instant feats.

What an awesome start. I'm a huge fan of your work HB and really hope that you'll come back to NWN one day.
Having said that, Im working on expanding this system.
The following features will be present:
1. Full NPC compatibility
2. Complete removal of the 35 meter range limit (already complete, if you can see it, you can shoot at it)
3. Completion of the weapon attachments such as silencers.
4. Addition of rocket launchers
5. Animations for female human (already complete)
6. Animations for male and female dwarves, elves, half orcs, and issigs half-ogre.

I tried creating a human female, and the animations don't look half bad for the rifles. Actually they look very nice, and professionally done!
Honestly, your creation looks very promising so far, especially the dual wielding ranged weapons part. I really would like to see more of this.
Thank you very much for what you already provided us with in any case, your talent is indeed appreciated.
PS : If you don't mind an advice, your worst enemy in all this is probably to take on everything at the same time : custom animations, custom models, custom feats, custom scripting, etc. I think dealing with one item at a time would help your motivation (since you'll get better feedback) and sanity (!) a great deal.
PPS : Is there no way to tweak the baseitems.2da + ranges.2da files to get ranged weapons to fire at higher range than 30 meters ? Did you check that PCs and NPCs had a perception range higher than 30 meters also ?
PPPS : Please don't show too hard on yourself. One can do only so much within the limits of the engine. Good luck, and best wishes :)

Prole, this stuff is revolutionary for NWN. D20 Modern only has a handful of new animations right now for combat, and you've redefined gun animations completely. Dual-wielding in NWN shouldn't be possible, and you've made a way to do it in style.
Ways to go forward:
1) I could help with scripting for sure, and I'm sure Horred and others could help out, too.
2) You're right about the range limit - I hit the same problem trying to add Far Shot and other range bonuses in D20MM. NWN is completely rangeless for missiles, and it's a shame. I've pretty much thrown up my hands at that one. Only other option would be a long-range spell-like feat instead of actual combat, and a complete rewrite of missile fire.
3) Do you have to make new animations for every race and gender combination to make those possible? That sounds like a LOT of work. Or can you just copy things into the appropriate models? I'm guessing that position and orientation keys are different for every gender...yikes.
So I see the big issue being all that work ahead of you on making at LEAST female human shooters possible - I don't think other races are critical.
Let's talk about options over on the D20 Modern forum, so you can decide where you'd like to take it. Great job!

Reload anim look bad when you use the feat while moving.
Reload anim look weird with robes.
Assault rifles and smg/carbines don't work too good.
the way your arms go to the side when you leave combat.
I think what i will do is remove the burst6 mode and rearrange the phenos so assualt rifles and smgs both get they're own pheno.
that means i can make anims like pause1, walk, run ect unique to the weapon. Will look a lot better i think.
Might even change the longarms to a different weapon wield, xbow does not work as good as i thought.
Need to do ammo slightly different. At the moment you cant do anything for a few seconds after reloading or your action gets canceled.
The cover and miss system needs a better scripter than me.
The sounds dont quite fit, might need to change the anims so they play a bit later. removing the burst6 mode will help with this.
Doing this will also sort out the delay with the miss effect.
The 35m range is a bitch, nothing i can do about that but i makes me wonder if i should put so much effort into making this better.
If you want good guns in NWN petition for a range increase in 1.69. :)
well thats all i can think of right now, gotta get some sleep.
If i do continue working on this i think i will start from scratch for the next beta. Keep whats good and leave out whats bad.
So let me know what you think should stay or go.

Awww... Prole it sound like you're stopping this. I hope not. You know i'm a fan of what you're doing. I'm sure that with Horred and Forrestwolf you could get around scripts.
