This is a simple modification of the Bioware microset tilset. The flat ground geometry has been made invisible, and a new skybox called "vortex" has been added.
Combine these two in an area and push the fog back to about 500 and you'll achieve the illusion that you are suspended in space.
I found that it's about de file skyfade1.mdl, from the cep2_add_skies.hak. Removing it will make the sx_space_tileset work. But the problem it's I don't know what skyfade1 makes.
I find this hak wonderfull. But is bugs when combined with the Community Skyboxes Pack (CSP) : the ground has a big hole instead of seing the vortex skybox. Any idea to solve this ?

Just noticed a bad mistake in my previous post: When I said "you can simply use Microset here" in paragraph 2, I was refering to the space tileset. Oops. _________________________ CW

Oh and I'd also like to point out that there's no need to use a new tileset for this design (unless you are worried about the name) since seriously, why would someone use the Microset tileset? It is merely rural wihtout any extras on the grass and obscenely limited tile options.
So maybe someone does need an area which is very simple just as a tresure generation area or something? Since PCs don't enter this area, you can simply use Microset here as well and if you think about it, it is an even more simple tileset than Microset - blank tile instead of grass. Therefore, this work is even better than I thought before but heck, I can't vote beyond 10! _________________________ CW

Actually, the vortex skybox has been taken from CSP so it's not his. If I'm wrong than I apologise in advance. And yes, the grass tile has been converted to a blank one so there is precious little actual work here although nevertheless, it's still had a brilliant effect especially with the fact that a skybox is hardly going to move which is how it's going to be in space so it is still worth a 10! Good work, even if you didn't need to do much. _________________________ CW

Simple but quite useful where it can be applied - and beyond my abilities to make, certainly! And as usual, NinjaweaselMan demonstrates the ability to make creative use out of existing engine parts. The Microset will no longer sit idle in my modules! _________________________ [Blog] [Revenant Module] [The Immortal Module] [Darkened Ruins Reskin] [Immortal GUI Alpha Test]

I'd say this is useful, but simple. _________________________ This is a clever signature; filled with quotes, humor, and spooky statements.

The idea is great, but:
- by all means there's no tileset work here, only a skybox;
- it would be worth remodelling a skybo you are using so that the texture you are using would tile evenly.

Very nice! I will replace the old one I got by this one on my SciFi mod! _________________________ Dark Horizon

Of limited application, but but excellent for those uses. First thing that comes to mind is a 'Death Location' from where a character can be returned to 'Earth' to resume play; a 'Heavenly Zone' so to speak.

With a new skybox, this will be perfect for the Astral Plane section of a module I'm working on. I love it. 8^)

Very nice, and I see no problem with using the microset rather than creating a new set. I may well use this. _________________________ View my blog regarding the Relbonian Chronicles project --> Link

Having looked in the .set I see you did indeed use just one blank model - but I still think this should've been a new tileset. _________________________ --- What can Q do for you? --- Undead Redux 2 | Wild Woods Tileset

A good idea, but...
Wouldn't it have been simpler just to create one new tileset with just one tile (ie a flat and invisible one)? Anyway it's of little consequence, this is useable and a neat idea.
And has other possibilities, too. For example, you could make an entire area out of placeables - like a placeable ship on a placeable sea.

This is a great, and wonderfully simple, idea! It takes a tileset with little use and turns it into something with more possibilities. There may be only a few settings where being suspended in space would be appropriate for the module or world, but this idea could certainly be expanded. Changing the skybox to a whole bunch of clouds could make the illusion of being in heaven or something like that. Great idea! (And can't believe I was lucky enough to be the first download!)
