When I made the parts for my 1,220,376 New Wands pack, I also planned on doing an update for magical rods as well, since those have even fewer appearances.
Here's the result!
Tops (146)
Middles (54)
Bottoms (94)
Combined with the original parts, that's 1,243,304 new combinations.
This hak does not include models for the rods, since the game doesn't use them anyway.
The download includes the "Rod Parts Guide" image, to make building wands faster in the toolset.
Some of the bottom icon parts are "wrappers" that show around the top and middle parts to create more "magical" looking icons. These look good in the inventory and on the quickbar, but will obscure spell icons in the quickslots...but with all the new appearances, you should now be able to tell your rods apart :).
Add the hak to your module and you're good to go. You can also add the contents to your own hak file if you want.
Oh, and I like feedback/votes/comments. :)
These were made for my PW, but I thought I'd share.

They look great! Wish I didn't use equippable rods and wands, as I'd love to be able to hold one of these in hand!

Come see these in action at Aenea!

A nice mix of new appearances, really spice up the boring ol' rods! _________________________ "Death makes equals of us all"

I say again, when you can look at a thing, and tell what it is, it makes it far more useful in a clutch situation. They are all so pretty.

Distinctive, unique looking rods mean a great deal to collectors of magical artifacts and Amethyst Dragon's collection makes each cherished rod come alive with magical energy, not to mention makes identification and classification so much easier. _________________________ Your Character is your Destiny.

Doh, ignore the 'wands' comment above, meant to say 'rods! (Even though it's true for both the wands and rods in Aenea!)

Jeez, there's so many - every type of wand is unique, and they're nicely done.

I just thought of a reason it might not be working on it's own...
I forget that I use a modified baseitems.2da file in my PW haks that pushes the limits on most items to 255, enabling additional inventory icon parts for things like the rods and wands, and other items like weapons and potions. _________________________ World of Aenea (Hall of Fame PW and the origin of all my works)

These are just inventory tga files. Since, by default, NWN doesn't actually show wand or rod models (they don't get equipped), I saw no need to make models I'd never see.
When associated with a module, the haks should allow you to chose the new parts via the Appearance tab when editing such an item.
Not sure why it would cause an error for you.
I know it sounds like just an advertisement, but if you really want to see some of these parts in action, you can log into my PW...I've replaced all of the default wands with new appearances using these images. _________________________ World of Aenea (Hall of Fame PW and the origin of all my works)

Ok, I am having some difficulty with your two new haks, I went to look at the 2da files and saw none, which really peeked my curiosity, so I tried them individually, with no other haks, and tried first to create a rod, then when I switched them, to create a wand. Neither worked, at all... I could not get to the item customization screen and instead got an error.
Looking through the hak in NWhak, I saw that these haks only included tga files. Are these supposed to be new wand and rod parts that can be seen when held by a character, or just the images that are seen in the character inventory. Since there are no mdl files or a 2da file, and well I could not get either hak to work... I am just inquiring because these would be lovely and they seem to have gotten good reviews I would like to see them in action.

These rod icons look simply way better than the default game icons. Excellent.

I missed voting on this when it was posted. I am very sorry to have delayed this long.
These appearances actually make the items look like what they do! Rod of Fear? Make it grey like bone with a skull on the end! Genius!

In complete agreement that this in fact all of your work in this vein be picked up by the CEP people. Excellent as we've come to expect from the Dragon!

The rods appear of even more high-quality than the wands, and that makes them ever so more desirable. _________________________ @===============================================@
Vinchenzo made a post here.
Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.
This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:
Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...
Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.
Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass.
There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol)
