This override pack was designed to improve the visual of one of Bioware Winter Rural tileset. It replaces all of the Trees terrain and several tree objects on snow tiles.
Like my Bioware Rural Trees Override, this is an overriding pack, so that it can be used with any module, campaign or PW, but, if you feel like adding it as an obligatory hak to your module, feel free to convert it into one.
There's been almost a year break before I've started and then finally finished the pack today, so I could have easily missed some tiles. If you find one of those that still require attention, please, let me know.
Since it's an overriding pack, the textures you will find inside are still in TGA format: DDS overrides tend not to work properly on many systems.
Note: if you are looking for Rural or City Exterior overrides, you can find both of them here.
Update #1: added a hakpack along with an overriding pack

This is outstanding work and very much appreciated. I already see where this can be used in our module. Thanks! _________________________ Lysithea: Farsong designer at nwnlysithea.org

This looks so nice that I'm already merging it into my PW's next update hak. :)
I actually prefer that the trees don't have a heavy coat of snow. In real winter, the snow only really sticks to the evergreens (and other trees) right after it snows or if it snows right after a rain or heavy fog.
The only thing I don't care for (and this is something that comes with using alpha textures for trees and can't really be avoided) is the white that outlines the leaves of the "stand-alone" trees when viewed from an angle where you can see the ground snow through them. I'll live with it, since these are soooo much nicer than the default rural winter trees.
Combine this with some of the evergreen placeables now included in the CEP, and you get a lot of variety.
While this won't really work for those that use the rural winter tileset as a winter version of the rural tileset (since they couldn't make "duplicate" areas anymore), it makes for superb northern winter scenery (there are many real-world forests that are primarily evergreen).
Thanks a lot for this, Helvene! _________________________ World of Aenea (Hall of Fame PW and the origin of all my works)

Well... It certainly looks better than the mushroom-shaped canopies of bioware, but it seems to me it has a couple of things that could be upgraded.
First, the texture. I've noticed most of the tts overrides/additions work over a strange mechanic: trees are quite colorful and clean, where as in a snowy landscape, judging by the amount of snow on the floor, trees should be smothered by white flakes.
Second: although I love the new canopies and trees, they all look the same. A little variety would be appreciated. Not to compare, but the original NWNCQ tts override contained three different types of trees.
Anyway, aside from those, I think this is a very anticipated override pack. Thanks, Helvene! And may you forgive my grumpy comments and not resort to making yet another voodoo doll with my name on it!
