Does anyone remember that glorious Temple of Tempus from Icewind Dale?
Well it's here!
I Had the urge last week to model it as a tileset for NWN ((1)). My first ever attempt at 3d modelling. It took me 7 days and includes 19 unique, custom placeables (+2 on top I downloaded from the vault (modified) saved me from reinventing the wheel so to speak).
I enjoyed this a lot, tonnes in fact, and would it again in a heartbeat.
Full documentation can be found in the readme file!
~ Enjoy
PS: Sorry about the missing hakpak! It's doing some weird things.
Holy*bleep*, It's so good to the point where I almost thought it was another game. Great Job.

No doubt Tempus himself guided his hand when HinnishPastry made this! Tis the work of the gods! TEMPUS!!! Wulfgar would be proud.

Fantastic work! I love the windows, placeables, and the floor! I wonder if Jerrod is still in the basement? :) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

The light emitter on the windows are brilliantly done, best i've seen. Quality work! Future hall of fame for sure.

1. That most people don't realize the power and potential of simple lighting. I reckon 99/100 people just choose their area lighting properties without really thinking about it for longer than several moments, if that. If you want do it right, you really ought to spend some time also observing the light conditions in every single tile. Again I bet most people use one of those ugly cartoon-like defaults, change the colors at most, then don't bother to manipulate light in the tiles, they just leave what the default light setting disperses.
The right colors, with the right level of darkness and fog, can make any ordinary and mundane area look good. Even vanilla nwn, mark my words.
Plus, when i built the models in 3ds, I got to put the light emittors exactly where I wanted them for maximum impact. Like, putting them right up at the windows so Icould put blue light there in the toolset that actually looked like it was coming from the windows.
2. If that doesn't convince you, it could be the quality of the uvw mapping. It can achieve the illusion of high resolution (which always looks good) by (A) ALWAYS using perfectly seamless textures (the ones that DO NOT look ugly or noticeable when you tile them over and over and (B) tiling them more than 1x on every surface, on all axes.

I don't know who you are, I don't know how you did it... I mean, I'm looking at the DDS textures, some are beautiful, but most are pretty dull and common... so how the hell did you manage to make them look better than NWN2 in-game? This has the devil's touch all over it, I say!
Now, I'm gonna have to beg like a beggar and a pleader joined together at the waist, and ask you to do more of this... maybe even some overriding textures for the original tilesets? I mean, the models are great, I love them, but I figure they are harder to concoct than the textures, right? So, here I beg, and vote, and beg some more! Too bad none of my modules have a Temple of Tempus. :(

Well done!

Yep, somehow by removing the second HAK, you reverted to the HAK less RAR. Might want to leave the second file up as well. _________________________ - Invisig0th
The screenshots look spectacular! Strangely, like a few others here, I couldn't find the hak files in the rar archive I downloaded just now. Weird that the update worked for some but apparantly not all. I guess I'll have to wait and see if it turns up for me eventually, too.
I understand you specifically created your own tileset for this? If so, why not create two entries: One in the hakpak category, containing your tileset, one in the prefab category, containing you prefabricated temple area and a link to the tileset page? If this is meant as a prefab for use in other modules, people might have trouble finding it under "Hakpaks". In any case, thanks a lot for sharing it! Can't wait to see it myself.
Yes, I've verified that this is indeed NWN1, as much as it might look like it isn't. Very high quality stuff. Thank you for sharing this with the community.
Oh, and I just downloaded both files. Both have the correct HAK, so no worries there. _________________________ - Invisig0th
As an aside, you may notice that the floor design doesn't have transparency, like it should. I couldn't get it to work.
If anyone knows how to get transparency on a placeable to work let me know! The problem is, I can get it to display perfectly in the modeling program, but when i load the placeable in game, it doesn't mask.
