This is a coniferous forest mountain tileset and is a WIP Project. It is fully functional for basic area creation with a forest terrain and raise/lower + 3 features!. The "dragon skeleton" group is a PLACEHOLDER!!!
I´ll update this tileset when the new terrains/ crossers are ready and you can find my progress reports always in the specific thread over at bioware forums.
You´re welcome to post any kind of feedback or ideas.
ENJOY and have fun.
ps
The Wallcrosser is a PLACEHOLDER too! And edge tiles as well minimaps are being worked on as I type!
pps
Regarding credits... just be a cool guy and do what we all do!
You can upload your modifided version here on the vault. I have no problem with
that and others may have some interest in what you´ve added too. I think it´s
exactly for what it is released to give others also a base from where they
can add or modify it to their own world/ area;)

I love this set. Reworking some forest areas with this now. This is one I am finding really doesn't need roads and a ton of buildings, etc - it just reminds me of a deep forest where one could get lost ... enter at your own peril.
Thanks for the "Your welcome to modify it as you wish" statement. For my use, I added a simple ocean terrain (simply your chasm with a water plane), as my forests using this tileset are on islands, and two different bridge over water crosser terrains for transitions. I also added a few of the Mulsantir houses, camps, and a complete additional terrain of the raised forest platform walkways and houses. I'd be happy to send what I added to you, for your review if you'd like, to do with as you please - or toss if they don't fit your concept :)
Again, thanks so much!

Thanks for your feedback and the smooth halfheight crosser is something i already thought about. A river/ water terrain is also a must have terrain;)
But i dont need to compare my work with yours to be honest, i did this tileset for myself in the first place and shared it cuz i think it´s quite usefull for others too;)
The more tilesets we have the better for builders so I´m looking forward to see at least some screens about what you´ve done already:) _________________________ Baba yaga´s art blog/

Hey baba! I'm working on a very similar tileset. I vote yours a ten of course, but lets compare when we each finish! Looks like we have a similar need for the same forest.
Mine has all the groups from the rural and forest tilesets reworked, plus about 10 more 2x2 groups including more caves and various standing stones (one with sacrificial table). It also has 4 different trees instead of all trees being one species (got some nice poplars). I just gotta round up the correct gmax (I know I still have this one!) file and see about packing a hak.
Only difference otherwise is my ground cover is all ferny instead of bare. It might cause some issues on full zones due to poly count. Looks more like the forests out of "empire strikes back". Kinda slow sometimes in the toolset. Also, I only path-out trees greater than 1 meter in diameter, for ease of movement. I also do 100% hiding on smaller trees as you walk under them, instead of just the upper trunk, like most bioware tiles.
Can't wait to see your finished product.
Also, I have a variety of crossers you might want to try:
*river-right handed
*river-left handed
*river-merge to water tile (lake or slow large river)
*path-deer trail
*path-dirt road (not bioware wagon tracks)
*smooth half-height crosser
I don't have any wall crossers, but I was working on adding an impassible-rock half-height crosser.
Mine is also in 500 gmax unit scale with 250 crossers.
Edge tiles are a slow ramping tile out to about a 2 1/2 tile depth if I remember correctly. Choose from either forest edge or rock edge. Water edge was unfinished.
oh and for the suggestions like a path... yes there are some basic crossers i have in mind pretty well visualized already + a river terrain. So again, if you want to integrate some tno buildings dont hesitate to do so, should be easy. Just remember that I used a 7m raised floor terrain when you integrate your stuff! I needed this to make sure shadows are cast correctly for future tileset terrain like the mentioned river and something not announced and well... still a bit far away....;) _________________________ Baba yaga´s art blog/
thanx a lot for your votes and feedback:) Always a good feeling your work finds some love;) and hopefully some use. Your welcome to modify it as you wish... i dont have much time left atm but this tileset as well my other projects are NOT abandoned at all. Just on a hold once i can focus on them again;)

Impressive work. I was left speechless when I checked the latest modifications. Thanks for hearing out, Baba. This thing is... amazing. I wish the original forest would look at least half as good as this. Great detail in textures and more than that. The way you used overlays of splotches with flowers and plants... just beautiful. very realistic as well.

Ok, I know I'm late, but until Helvene added the edge tiles I had forgotten this master-work. ;-/

This is fantastic. I'm impresed I hope you can add some buildings and a forest edge or mountian edge to this set. Perhaps a path would be nice too. I love your work keep it coming.
