Flintlock Pistol(1-handed) ======================= The small one handed musket is a weapon that is very rarely seen around the Forgotten Realms. But there is one place where the musket is quite common and that is in the hands of a Giff. Fear a Giff that points his musket at you for they know how they have to handle this weapon. Although the wizards of Thay and some obscure gnomish Engineers have 'invented' their own versions of the muskets they are far from being as effective as a Giffs' musket.
I believe it was called a wheel-lock pistol in Spelljammer

I must say that your model is masterfully created. Although, you made a model of a percussion cap firearm, not a flintlock. In response to Aztirith, I don't recall a "starwheel pistol" from 2nd Ed. But then again I don't have all of the source books. But I do recall the Arquebus. Jupp, the arquebus would be an ideal firearm to create though. It was basically a small cannon that shot a 1 inch to a 1.5 inch ball. the cannon itself was about a foot long and attached to a spear shaft. The shooter would lay a lit match (held in the other hand) against a short fuse which would, hopefully, discharge the weapon.
Anyway, keep up the good work.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 22 that made this score of 7.41 then rounded to 7.

How to use this what does is replace or show up as?

To all of those who weren't heavily into 2nd Ed. D&D, primitive pistols did exist to a LIMITED EXTENT in the Forgotten Realms after the release of the Spelljammer setting [I believe they were referred to as "Starwheel Pistols"?]. Anyway their use, if I remember correctly, was mainly contained to eastern Faerun and [who would have thought ;)] gnomish communities.

It looks very well done indeed, but how do u make it in a game, do you go into crossbow to make or what. Well anyway its very good, considering making more diffrent kinds of guns too cus I think it is great, I wish I could do it, but i dont know how, lol
Thanks for such a cool gun

The stupidity of those who discouraged this model amazes me. Note that though it's good, it's entirely useless out of the game.

hi i saw your model and i was blown away from the beauty of it and was wondering of you would be interested to make a flintlock musket to complement your pistol possiblily for adapation in a oriental mod particulaly in fedual japan period where spanish and portugease sold firearms ( Flintlock muskets/ mini cannons / percussion cap psitols technology was in its infantcy)
and if it is possible to make them weather dependant so they wont fire when its raining or snowing heavily. Many a great battles have their tide turned when a cavalry unit facing a barrage suddently by a stroke of luck encounters rain at the critical point hence leading the charge to decimate the Musket squadron.....Brings back memeroies of a samurai classic... q-__-P
Cheers and thanks

I have played Fallout and I have played the HELL out of Fallout2
But I want more
MORE!!
Arcanum is not as good of game as NWN
So if anyone can give me good firearms in NWN then Huzzah!
Landru was correct though, the picture shows a percussion cap pistol and not a flintlock pistol

I crack up every time I open up a new "Gun" model and find people complaining that the gun mods will create an unfair nuke-the-world-plasma-rifle. Tell you what... when you figure out how to get a #@$^*& gun to do 10d10 damage, tell me, k? I know a good 30 people who would *love* to screw around with item properties and create a steampunk/sci-fi/modern world, with appropriate weapons. As is? All "Guns" are either crossbows or slings. They just look funny.

First of all, I applaud Jupp for making a supreme effort on the modeling. A flintlock pistol is indeed just what this game needed. There are indeed many people of this time and age that use them. (see ARCANUM) Use it if you wish. But I'll stick with my necromatic spells. I'll make you so old you won't be able to lift the gun. Once again, great work. For those of you that believe that he's gone to far. What can be done about it now? TDB, Sei La Vi, Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda. Too late now. Theres no point in Bi**chin about it now. Forever Yours, Calmino the Necromancer.

DWARF USE A GUN? GUNS ARE FOR WEAK LITTLE GNOMES. Really now, ye stupid humans dont know what real dwarves of Faerun are, damn it. We use axes, hammers, chairs, broken bottles, bare hands, goblin corpses, and what have ye, but no weak-man guns, durnit, so shut yer ale-holes and stop mixen us up with gnomes n' giffs n' such, else ye find a fist through yer face.

You want Nukes Plasma rifles and what not. Go play Fallout. Or Fallout 2. Or Some other game that Nukes, Plasma Rifles, and Such. I also admit that if someone dosne't want it. Then don't download it. Or don't play in someones mod that has it. I'm just saying that you would get a better experience from it if you played a game that supported those type of weapons. These type of weapons are good. (I'm gonna sound like I know what I"m talking about for just a sec) ..... I belive dwarves make weapons like these and use them alot. So for all of you that are complaining about it "not being true to the game"... save it for someone that actually makes a nuke. ... This guys ideas are good. These type of guns are indeed "true to the game."

Also, kickass model. Hope you make more.

Some of you simpletons need to realise that not everyone who plays NWN plays in Forgotten Realms. To be perfectly honest I can't tell the difference between any of the types of D&D nor do I give a rat's +blocked+.
Who cares if he made a pistol? Who cares if he made a plasma rifle? I'd love to see a modern, futuristic or alternate plane mod for NWN. However if Mister-Comic-Book-Fatty-Play-It-By-The-Rules-I'm-Telling-On-You-In-My-
Livejournal doesn't like the idea of a pistol, Sig 550 or a thermonuclear skateboard he doesn't have to download it.
Dipshits.

Hi. I know that people are allowed to have their own creativity an all. But what if one has so much creativity that it ruins the game for others. I admit... the gun idea sounded cool so I clicked on this link... but reading your comments...I've found that if you make guns...someone could eventualy build a nuke in this game...and what fun would that be?? people aren't playing this game to get their butts wooped... their playing to have fun... you take out the combat for firearms... and your making it a very dull game. Sorry.. great idea...but not for this game.
Posted by Tillo ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-03-07 21:12:00
anyone ever figure out how to put this in the toolset or
just have it in the game..?
Posted by Noah ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-03-07 20:40:00
if you dont like the flintlock pistol in the game then why
did you click on the link, let other people enjoy it. This
is something ive been waiting for.
Posted by T0nic ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-02-12 23:04:00
Okay, I know that no one is so absent minded as to not have
any creativity in here... I mean hasn't anyone heard of
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura... Come on
People! D&D is great but there are other time periods and
there are still rumors of Witches and Warlocks today. If
Someone wants to create they need an imagination... I sure
hope no one who is critisizing the fine work these People
are doing are make Mods because if you are It's just gonna
be neverwinter nights, and every other recreation that has
already been done. Now if your done crying about stuff that
is not reality and will stop being so freakin shallowminded
then I would like to say this... Great Idea and Awesome
thought!

Mongoose, you should pay closer attention to your forgotten
realms history. For one thing, what does our history have
to do with it's? Secondly, there are far more than
just 'muskettes' available in this setting. Lastly,...
you've never heard of a Giff? This exactly follows the
forgotten realms history, wake up. :P
