Didn't make this, don't know who did... sorry for not crediting whoever did. I found it online and converted it over to NWN style. I think this is the coolest short sword available right now. have fun.

Just FYI, this is a model of an actual fantasy decorative knife. I bought the same knife (different handle same blade) for like 40$ about a year ago. It wasnt to that proportion though, more like 6-7 inch blade. Nice conversion however

I have to agree. If NWN was a game about realistic dueling, this would be silly. But since it's a game of over-the-top warriors and wizards slaying an entire citys worth of monsters and such, it's perfect. This weapon actually reminds me of the cleaver archetype, a short heavy sword from middle asia (not the middle east) which was used more or less like an axe. And since the combat animations almost always involve a hacking style, it fits in really well. Kudos.

Yeah, I see what you mean... maybe should've been a dagger or some other knife instead of a short sword. The original was just a weird blade and weird handle in 3ds format, I arbitrarily sized it to the approximate length of a short sword. Still though, you must admit that as a weapon in a fantastical, magic intensive world, it's pretty cool looking. Besides, I kinda thought that it looked somewhat realistic "in-game". Sorry if you don't like it, not gonna take it down though.

I think "Short Sword" is a misnomer, as shown in the picture. It's easily long enough to be a short sword, though it's proportions look like it could be a rather large knife if it were half the size.
For a game with any resemblance to reality, this weapon would be incredibly absurd. For an over the top styled game with exageratedly large weapons it might be ok.
Did the original designer create it to be used in this proportional context, or did you just you choose to make it this large?

Yeah, it's roughly the same length as bioware's, though obviously much thicker. It seems I forgot to say anywhere that this is an override file right now, feel free to add it to your haks. As it is, add it to your override folder and it will replace the standard short sword within the game.
