Yep it was made the day after the Model viewer came out.
He basicly was playing around with the asci files that were
released and came up with this.

It *is* Poly's Mindflayer, but it's a real early version
when there was barely tools for it...

Yeah, I realize that is not Polyhedral, but umm...despitte
the millions of models he has taken pictures of, how many
of them has he actually released? even as a sample pack?
Yeah, the other polyhedral's stuff LOOKS good, but where's
the motor?

Good start... but I always pictured Illithids wearing robes
and having both hands clasped together in front of them
with sleeves covering them (like monk/priest/cleric style)
rather than a blue body suit. I like the head and the
tentacles though. Great first draft, Poly.
