First sighted in the distant lands of Kara-Tur this truly exotic kind of crossbow can shoot 6 bolts in the same time when an ordinary crossbow shoots one arrow. Although it takes a special skill to handle this weapon one should not take this bow lightly. In the hand of a proven archer this bow can make a remarkable impact in a fight. P.s.: When viewing the model in the Model Viewer click on the bow and move the mouse up and down fast, then zoom in to the max. Then you can rotate it as you like. I dunno why it doesn't move correctly when zoomed out....
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 13 that made this score of 6.61 then rounded to 7.

If you want a disadvantage to a Cho-Ko-Nu crossbow, it's the strength, it should cause significantly less damage than a standard crossbow, because the draw strength had to be reduced to allow the archer to pull it back and release a dozen or so times a minute- and were this a normal crossbow, that would be impossible, even for a highly-trained archer, therefore it lacked the range and strength of regular crossbows but overcame the whole 'one shot per minute' problem encountered on a windlass or canterleaver crossbow.

-sigh- it's Cho-Ku-No people. Case closed.
if someone can script this thing to actually shoot 6 bolts per round in the hands of anyone, I'll download it.. ( too busy to worry about that myself ) otherwise it's just curtain dressing, and I already have a nice set of 12 weapons. ( 3 by Zoome, many thanks )

It's a Cho-Ko-Nu, not a Chu-Ko-Nu or a Cho-Ku-Nu, and it's a real weapon, so it doesn't matter what amount of bolts some made up book says it shoots. It shoots a lot, and six is plenty.

I may be wrong, but I believe it should be "Chu-Ko-Nu"
or "Cho-Ko-Nu"... Perhaps it doesn't matter... I've seen
people spell "Bin Laden" in a dozen or so different ways
and noone cared.
O, but I didn't want to talk about the name, but the number
of bolts in a cartridge. As I recall, the 3E DMG spoke of
five -not that it matters here.

The repeating crossbows advantage was that it could use
some speed related bow feats(ex:rapid shot), so basically,
it's a crossbow that counted as a bow for matters of
speed. Repeating crossbows in 3rd ed had a crank(possibly
on the cartidge itself) that was used to quickly get to
the next arrow in the cartridge. The disadvantage is yes,
reloading a whole new cartiridge took a little longer (I
dont know the specifics) than just relaoding a bolt.
Model looks great, but showing it WITH a cartridge would
have been better.

So do we have any modified code to allow for crossbows to
benefit from rapid-fire?

Alex, disadvantages would be load time, i think

Excellent, isn't there a repeating crossbow in the game
anyway though? I'm surprised if there isn't, since there is
in 3rd Edition. Its pretty balanced in 3rd Ed.

nice weapon, but way too powerful imho, cause there are
skills that let you shoot even more arrows per round. any
disadvantages? :)
