Title  Tree City tileset
Author  geekgirljess
Submitted / Updated  07-08-2002 / 06-29-2002
Category  Tileset
Description
The 'Tree City' hakpack is a reskin of the Forest tileset which replaces the forest floor texture with a wooden plank texture, allowing platforms to be made. It also reskins the most of the buildings to use a wooden plank texture. But best of all, it replaces the 2x2 Camp 1 group with the 2x2 Giant Tree group from the City Exterior tileset! W00T! :)

drow = scumbag

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 14 that made this score of 6.72 then rounded to 7.

drow aren't scumbags. They are evil but they aren't scumbags. They are deceitful treacherous and dishonest but not scumbags.I for one really like drow. They're just cool...I think it's just that they're really evil they really are survival of the fittest.

Not only that, but Wood Elves are NOT Wild Elves...
COMPLETELY different birds.
Just thought I'd chime in on this also... :)

Khara, what are you, crazy? You just said Wood Elves are nomads, and High Elves are Wood Elves... Wood Elves live in tree cities like this, High Elves live in cities in gorges, and normal ground, carved out of white marble, etc., not gold either. And they are DEFINITELY not like Dwarves at all.

Just thought I'd clear all that junk that people were saying up.

Heh Kelethin hehehe.

Wood elves (Wood elves ie wild elves.) in D&D are nomatic
like elves who live in tents that can be moved easily. Well
something like that. Wood elves would see this as a
defilement of nature and wouldn't stand for it. (chopping
down trees just to make a home *gasps*) I could be wrong,
I can't seem to find my Elven handbook to check on that. =)

=) It would seem more like a 'High Elven' city that is far
from any other city, thus still able to be close to nature
without having to acomadate for the needs of humans,
dwarves, halflings, and gnomes.

Also, on the golden gates and statues. Elves are the type
of artists that turn their home into art. Gold gates arn't
as inspiring to elves *imho* as a gate that was formed of
living plants. (kindof like vines on a gazibo.) Elves are
supposed to be very nature orentated, their art and music
show this.

Opps carried away big time, sorry. =\

The tile set is nice, really hope you finnish it up!

I have only one request if you decide to update this hak
anytime soon, there are a couple things missing before
this tileset is awesome.

1st, you need a "tree with door" placeable for the regular
forest tileset (with a coresponing tree with door for this
one). That one's a little more complicated than
reskinning, but there has to be some way to get to the
treetop city, doesn't there?

Also, those black areas make it look like your leaning out
over a void. Is there any way you could reskin that to
look like a forest canopy?

Just a couple suggestions, thanks.

Oh, and anyone thinking of doing a couple of hut tiles?

Cheers,
Dustin

Just wondering, does this REPLACE the forest set? A tree
city will be great, but I don't want to replace to forest
either.

Awesome job!
Thanks, Works very well = )

From what I can see from the initial image it looks to fit
with a wood elf socieity just fine. Wood Elves aren't
really majestic golden gate creating creatures. That would
be more High Elvish. And they would live in stone carved
areas. Almost like dwarves just above ground, and not as
dour, though very uppity.

I haven't toyed with the set yet, so I will not comment on
the completeness of the module.

While I agree that this wont make a good Elven City or
whatnot, the large trees and the more human made look makes
it work well for Solace from Dragonlance.

Erm... Aren't tree cities usually filled with splandour and
statues and golden gates and stuff? It's more like an Ewok
Village now! :/

Other then that, it's missing ALOT. Bridges don't make a
city, buildings make a city... I'll keep an eye for more of
your works though, it's quite well done all though
incomplete!

Hmmm...I go the impression from geekgirljess on the bioware
forums that this interesting tileset had quite a bit of
work left on it.

So is this a finished product submitted to the community or
an incomplete project sent out?
