This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 8 that made this score of 6.25 then rounded to 6.

You did a good job on the model and texturing is a hard job to do.. it takes a lot of time and a bunch of work to get it so it looks the way you want it.. just don't give up on it. You have some good skills and it would be a sad for you to quit before you got good.. Firehawk had some good suggestions and I know it does sounds harsh but he did take the time to try to help you make the sword the best it could be..

Well I have been doing CGi for a good 3 years or more now and I will say this.
1.The design of the Sword is a great.
2.The Texure is..well thats where the problems come into it
The texture is incomplete, as this is a low polygon sword im guessing from the looks of it should be about 150 quads at most(300 triangles)
You need to include shadows into your texture, where the blade meets the guard is the problem, it flows from one into the other, there is no break showing they are 2 seperate peices. Add a bumb map to the texture across the blade where it meets the Guard so it shows a shadow-indentation.
Dont let bad comments about your work put you off, and dont feel ashamed or imbarrsed at putting your work up for public viewing.
Your always going to get some people that, well comment harshly about your work, then you will get people that will comment truthfuly.
Just remember, everyone had to learn once...hell im still learning. Yet when I go back and look at my old work I must admit I do laugh at some of my attempts.
Yet if I hadnt made that +blocked+ work...I wouldnt have learned how to do things better and be able to do what I make now.
Textures are a massive pain in the +blocked+ for me :) I can model..I cant do textures very well....It comes down to what I enjoy I enjoy making the actual model..I dont enjoy making the textures.
As such quite often I add detail to the actual model I should really do by using a texture or bumpmap :)
As your sword was posted almost a year or so ago :) I do hope you keept practiceing your CGI work, and didnt let A-holes put you off.

I like the sword very much...Simple and very useful...
remember the Holy Grail is a simple carpenter's cup
too...however a lot of ppl would like to get a hold of it..
As for Hasse...He's just jealous couse a monkey beat him to
modeling..the formula is in his case...Hasse=h(ass)le+monkey

This is pehaps one of the coolest blades I'v seen. I am a
fan of straight-edged blades, and the way the gold hilt
rides up bart of the blade was pure genius! Keep it up,
Ty!

Ty Worsham's sword was a very good first try. I have seen
much of his work and believe that this young man will
become the future of NWN. His ideas are innovative and his
work is continous and determined. Please Mr. Worsham, do
not stop doing your work. Do not let this Hasse person and
his use of improper grammar deter you from acheiving your
goals. Thank you.

nice model dude but one thing it should be named
barbarian sword as it and the pic you were lookinjg at was
probably not the actuall sword that he used in the movie
for close ups it was probably one of the live stage swords
that were used for teh actual fights as the one that they
showed in close ups was not afunctional weapon but hey i'm
just being technical (i know my swords I own quite a few
includeing the official conan sword and one of the live
stage barbarian swords that use the conan look) what i what
to se now is ascottish claymore model that some one
actually gets the size of the langlet right.

Mr. Hasse,
If youre a professional modeler and skinner perhaps you
could post some of your content for us laymen to see and
use. Or you might write a tutorial and explain some helpful
tips that would assist us beginners. Otherwise keep your
condescending negative opinions to yourself. Not all of us
are blessed with your natural raw talent.
Constructive Criticism is just that, constructive.
Try, "Good first try, I think you might want to try and
flesh out the blade a little more. Its a little dull and
could use a bit more detail. I would suggest adding a blood
groove or a edge on the blade that really spices up swords.
Overall, well done!"
You see, its not all that difficult to help encourage new
developers and also add suggestions that will help him/her
to be better.
I frankly dont think you have EVER created a 3D model, if
you had you would know how difficult it is to learn and
give anyone kudos for even trying. If you are a modeler
please post here a link to any model you can take full
credit for.
Mr. Volition,
Very good first try beat the hell out of my first try at a
dagger! Keep it up!

Maybe it's a silent 'H'.

:-( so much negativity Jeremy Hasse.
Hmmmmm if ya drop the H and the e from his last name,
Yup but says it. :-)
Thought it looked good, keep up the good work volition

I agree with Jeremy to an extent. While there's certainly
nothing wrong with it, the skin is bland at best. But in-
game it's hard to notice.

Good stuff. Since the NWN weapons seem to be all mix and match in creation, this would make a great item to stick on a weapon rack, have laying across an occupied table in a tavern, or mounted on a wall with a shield.
You up to making any placeables like those I just mentioned?
Hasse, you are an idiot. You may direct any further comments about this item, and all other custom content, at the nearest brick wall.

Not everyone is a modeler son. Stop wasting time and post
worthwhile virgin.
The sword for a first try is a worthy one. I would suggest
you look around at some texturing tutorials on the net.
Also keep practising and model other objects to get the
feel of it. Nothing comes easy at first bud. Keep it up and
you'll get better. Also ignore comments like the moron from
the previous comments.

It's a good model and it's the first, i hope that he will
continue doing such things, i apreciate this one!
Jeremy, you are very rude!

Nice try, but no. I am not all caught up on what is
required to make a model for NWN, however I do weapon
modeling and skinning. I must say, it is crap. I have seen
a monkey turn out better stuff. But that is my opinion.
