This is the final update for the Dracolich. I've made some changes to the mesh and the skin and also added new Hakpak support. You can add it to the list of models or overwrite the penguin model. ENJOY!
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 21 that made this score of 7.10 then rounded to 7.

Just wanted to tell you, Overdroid, that I just checked
this out and it's going to be perfect for my next module.
Thanks for the great work, man!

Overwrited my appearance.2da with the draco hak one, and
overwoted it again with the one in 1.27 patch. I now got a
silver dragon who looks like a Iron Dracolich.... :| lol

Hmm,
both versions work for me (I even downloaded them just to
be sure). Have you made any other modifications to your
game (perhaps in the override directory)? You shouldn't
have to change the override directory at all if you are
using v1.23 of the patch.
Any other information you could give me would be great.
Which monster template are you using as a starting point?

For some reason, the Dracolich looks fine in the toolset,
but ingame it is static, with no animation in an odd
position, and ti slides when it moves, somehow hurting
you. Am I doing something wrong?

Odd i can not use this, i have used hak pack before , but when i add it and try and make a new creature to use the Draco lich , it gives me a NWNtoolset Failure, not sure of the exact one!!!
using patch 1.23 and the new toolset also...
anybody else having these problems ?

Disregard my last post: I was using the last version

I love this model, but there's something you should fix (I
had to do this myself). Change the model name to c_drglich
instead of c_drgsilv. If you do that, people can create a
seperate Dracolich appearance in their .2da file and also
have silver dragons in their mod.

Wow. This is cool. I got it to work great. Thank you.

By request the model now exists in HAK PAK format.

Great idea, but I don't like that it replaces the Silver
Dragon model.

Hi,
the model looks good so far, but it`s textures are a little
bit "clean".
Maybe you could add a little more yellowish-brown, that
would make it look more ...skeletal.

The override directory is Bioware's official directory for
changes that they make to data files (2da's, biffs, and
the like) in updates. Putting files in the override directory
means that they might be erased or changed every time
you install an update. I haven't tested it, but as long as
everyone on the same server has the files in this
directory they should all see the dracolich instead of the
silver dragon.
I'm working on a Hakpak, but I'll probably wait until I've
solved the ghosting issue before releasing it. The
Hakpak system doesn't correctly override all of the files
it should (I believe it doesn't override the
appearances.2DA file). So you would still have to muck
with your override directory in any case.
Feel free to do whatever you'd like with the files as is.
Mostly I just posted them so people could test them,
play with them, and give me feedback.

I am not too familiar with the override directory, does
everyone on server have to have files in override or just
host? Can you make this into a hak pak?
Posted by Overdroid ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-19 08:06:00
I'm not sure why but for some reason when I originally
started building this model the whole thing was ghosted. At
one point I changed the skin TGA source from the Silver
Dragon to the White (so the Body was initially from the
Silver and the Skin from the White). This cleared up the
ghosting issue. I figured transparency data was stored in
the TGA files. However, when I went to build a custom model
that didn't override the Silver dragon - it became ghosted
again. So for now I decided to keep it the way it is and
fix the issue later when I have more time to play with the
files.
If anyone has success at adding the model without
overriding a dragon already in the game and that also
doesn't turn it into a ghost (although I suppose some
people might like a phantom Dracolich), let me know how you
did it.
Also you should be able to easily make it override a
different dragon (some people have complained that silver
dragons are needed in their campaigns or modules) by
changing the names of the files to c_drgbrass***,
c_drgbrnz***, c_drggold***, etc. Just rename the first part
of each file and keep the endings the same.

All of you should stop whining, who cares about a good
aligned dragon its not like heros go on their epic quest to
slay the honorable silver dragon. Anyways the way bioware
has been so stingy releasing a decent way to include new
models i'm sure this is the best he can do. I know i'll be
downloading it, looks great!!!
(Anyone curious why bioware left out so many essential
monster models to begin with, i mean no dracolich,
beholders, and sahuagin. Also thats a poor excuse for the
Yuan-Ti. Hey does anyone know if people are trying to make
some models in the style of some the baldur's gate images,
the yuan-ti in those looked great.)

Looks great but... Silver is my favourite!!!
Posted by 22 SAS ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-19 02:47:00
Hmm......Dracolich or Silver Dragon! Arrgh I don't like
difficult decisions! Please make it so it doesn't overwrite
anyting and is a stand alone wonder.
BTW great model, keep up the good work.

Oh no...You've not only created an awesome model, you've
also made a conundrum. Dracolich or silver dragon, say it
ain't so! Looks fantastic, and props for sticking with the
original animation (creating your own could take months and
would be an utter pain in the arse). Can't wait for more
models from you!
Posted by Darknight ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-19 01:11:00
Ermm, its very cool BUT! No Silver Dragon? Sorry, I need
that dragon.
Couldn't you have used brass or bronze instead? No one
cares about brass or bronze dragons. :-) But Silver and
Gold are quite used.

very VERY nice, but I'm not downloading it until I can keep
my silver dragon :-p
