Hey, listen, the Drylands tileset included here, is it the high-res or the low-res version?

Posted by Old_Scores_Transfered at 2004-02-20 10:32:46    Voted 8.00 on 02/20/04
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 31 that made this score of 8.02 then rounded to 8.

BTW: cool hak.

I get no errors decompressing with WinRAR. Maybe you have an old version?

Posted by Nazo ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-06-22 18:33:00
Oh yeah, and people seem to be under the impression that because WinRAR is commercial software that they have to pay to decompress RAR files using it. This is not true. If you decide to get the full version, what you are paying for is actually stuff like the aunthenticity verification which I haven't really heard of anyone using and you support a company that deserves support. The shareware version can compress and decompress RAR files every bit as well for normal things. I also cannot help but point out that WinZIP is also commercial software as is PKZip and practically every other pkzip based decompression (I say pkzip because the compression is the same, only the compressor/decompressor has changed to add a pretty gui and long filename support -- which was already in the compression back then even, just the os didn't support it.)

Not True ToughGuy ... I have ZIP'ed & RAR'ed the same
things and RAR compresses more for most file types.

Posted by Mr . WinRar . esq ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-02-11 15:24:00
Oh not again Dload Winrar you Lazy ORC
hence winzip (its poor fatherless cousin) will seem but a
distent memory!!!
I dloAD'D WR n hav never looked bak

Posted by ToughGuy ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-02-01 19:51:00
OK, let's settle this once and for all. Winrar will
open zip files. So distribute in zip files and everyone
is happy. The compression difference is negligible.

Posted by Dave ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-25 05:17:00
Sorry, I thought it was gonna have lots of those +Blocked+
things, which I thought would look funny. Anyway, for my
real comments: There ARE indeed pro's and cons between the
two (or more) formats, though, there is no reason to fight
over it. Of course! Have your oppinion, but it really
comes down to: If you want the mod, get WinRAR, unzip it.
Then delete WinRAR if you really want to. It's the rar
format not because Arcanius zipped it in that format, not
becasue he doesn't like zip files. So just get WinRAR,
unzip it, then delete WinRAR if you really dislike it that
much! - P.S - Really sorry for that big swear thing,
I don't usually swear! I just thought it would be amusing
to see all the "+blocked+" things. Sorry!

Oh my god! Now I have started. I am out of here I cant
stand this.

Posted by Crash2744 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-18 12:13:00
I don't see why people don't just get winrar. It handles
nearly EVERY and I mean EVERY type of compression about.
Tar , zip , ace , rar and so on.
Its one program and it does the lot.

Arcanius also didnt have to make this and whatever
compression he uses is up to him. I also think the ones
that started moaning about compression are ignorant and all
that stuff should not of been posted. It's stuff like this
that gives the internet a bad name. If you cant decompress
a winrar then download winrar or dont bother download the
rar file in first but why do you have to post all that
rubbish.

Posted by Dustin Asche ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-02 14:27:00
Dave, shut up.

Arcanius: I can't unpack the rar file with any program on
my computer. Unfortunately, Rarlabs' program costs $30
and I don't feel like paying that to unpack a file. This
is nothing against Rar, and if you like them that's cool,
but .zip is just more universal. Anybody can unpack .zip
files so maybe an alternate download in zip format?

P.S. thanks for your efforts, even if a bunch of morons
have given you +blocked+ for your choice of compression program.

Posted by Crash2744 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-13 12:32:00
Hahahahahaha! I can't believe u guys are arguing over some
sort of compression crap. Havent u got anything better to
do.

Posted by AfterMidnight ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-10-13 16:58:00

I hate to resort to profanity, but you guys are a bunch of
F'ing yahoos! I'm just out here looking for good content to
add to my mods and hoping to find some review type comments
to help me select good add-ons and not waste my time on
crap. But all I find are a bunch of no talent a$$-clowns
having a pointless debate about compression that belongs in
a newsgroup somewhere. If any of you has actual comments
concerning this particular hak pack, please share them with
me.

I was unable to extract this file with ver. 2.80 of Winrar,
however upon downloading the newest version (3.00) I was
able to successfully extract this file. Note for all ^_^

Posted by Athiril ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-09-04 20:51:00
You idiot, WinRAR 3 also comes on magazine cds, it has much
better compression, you are such a tool.

Posted by DaZZle ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-27 06:51:00
My file is ok

Did you use a download accelerator? At my parents house
where they have ISDN files often corrupt when you use
multiple download threads.

Posted by Darkon86 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-20 10:54:00
WTF? I downloaded the mod that requires this file and:
IT'S CORRUPTED!!!! THIS IS BS!!.

Posted by Shambhala ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-17 10:15:00
I've downloaded this file multiple times and each time I
try to extract it I can't due to a CRC error.

Posted by Thought ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-08-13 17:59:00
Hmm, rar?

Yeah, right. Whatever.

Posted by Dark Elf ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-07-28 07:27:00
Zips, are THE most common format on the web and that is the
common denominator. Compression shouldn't matter as people
not DL something merely for the fact thaty have to go
somewhere else and DL something to open the first thing.

If you want to get your modules, tilesets, models,
portraits, and the like DL'd, you must go for the lowest
common denominator. For all you dingbats out there spoutin
that WinRar and WinAce unpack zip files as well.... GOOD
FOR YOU! You don't have to download a new program. Just use
your fancy schmancy rar/ace program and unpack the zip file.

As for having to Activate WinZip.... that's not true, I'm
using a trial version of it and haven't ever though to
registering it for well over a year.

hmm WinRar and WinAce worked just fine on my Corp Edition
WinXP Pro. Methinks you arent getting it correctly.
Anyways, both WinRar and WinAce are avaiable free, just get
the demo versions from their sites. Myself, I use WinAce
(WinAcec demo can also decompress .rar files fyi) nowadays
but I used to be a big fan of WinRar.

Posted by Jazael ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-07-18 01:08:00
Just passing by, and saw the comment below about WinRAR
not working on WinXP. That's not true. I primarily use
WinZip, but I also have WinRar, and it works fine on XP
Home Edition. Just so you know.

omg... you guys have to be stupid...

Posted by Derek ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-07-15 17:55:00
Ok I just read all your posts about compression tools, I
laughed my +blocked+ off, hahahahahahahahahahahhaa ok ok let me
put my two cents in, ACE compresses things better
HAHAHAHAHHHAHAHHAAH winace much better

Posted by Talenn ( 07/14/02 15:52..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-07-14 15:52:00
Does anyone have a link to this thing that ISNT in .rar
format? I cant get it to extract using the 'free' version
and I'm not about to pay $29 for the WinRAR.

Posted by Compressed ( 07/14/02 13:26..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-07-14 13:26:00
I downloaded this from both here and neverwinterhaven.
Both times Stufit said that it was corrpted. So today I
tried again and got the same message, so I downloaded
winrar and behold, it uncompressed this time. For those
getting corruption errors, and aren't using winrar, it
looks like you will be forced to change to it.

downloaded 3 times, how's that for bandwith conservation?
