Description
Made with NWN's, SoU & HotU. HotU Character Builder and PvP Arena was built for my wife, so that she could test out various character builds. I decided to add a little more and the result is the mod as it stands now. The Mod contains 5 areas. ~ The Construct ~ Level up and get gold in my own private joke. ~ The Arena ~ PvP Arena for testing out character builds against your friends. ~ The Merchants Area ~ Buy any item from the game, for testing out various equipment configurations. All merchants are neatly organised for your convieniance. ~ The Workshop ~ Play around and test out the new Craft Item Skills, all materials have an infinate supply. ~ The Petting Zoo ~ Get up close and personal with every creature in the game, without fear of combat. Examine, view and consider your stratagies.
I just put up 2 beta versions (A 1.7MB zip and 720KB rar) of my HotU version of the Halls of Advanced Training Deluxe. They are not finished yet and have a lot of bugs, but the 4 biggest upgrades are done -- Bringing in HotU standard pallete items, splitting NWN and custom items to separate stores (NWN & custom for each of 32 categories), bringing in HotU monsters into the monster arena and revising its layout, and bringing in more custom items, about double the number. They were uploaded on the night of 12/24 (Sometimes takes up to 4 days to show up on site).I just put up 2 beta versions (A 1.7MB zip and 720KB rar) of my HotU version of the Halls of Advanced Training Deluxe. Instead of using 40 conversation nodes with scripts to set each level, you can juse use some code like this to increase thier level by one. void main() { object oPC = GetPCSpeaker(); int iLevel = GetHitDice(oPC); int iNewLevel = iLevel + 1; int iExp = 0; int iCounter; for (iCounter = 1; iCounter < iNewLevel; iCounter++) { iExp += (iCounter * 1000); } SetXP(oPC, iExp); }

Mosko, long time no see. How is Iperoth doing? I Guess the Construct is a dead giveaway as to the Builder, It has become somewhat of a Trade Mark ^_~

GreatInca: Yes WinRar is a great program, but I guess some people just don?t like change. People still feel "Iffy" about buying games on DVD. I am not in this for "Competition", far too busy building my own PW to get into a "Who can build the best trainer" race, I am sure with 4 already under your belt, you will blow this little thing out of the water. It was only a single day project from scratch. I simply made something for my wife, and as people were asking for a trainer mod, I released it. I'm just happy if someone else finds it useful or entertaining. Wish you all the best for your HotU release of The Halls of Advance Training, I have never tried it myself but I have heard good things about it.

I think WinRAR rocks. Wonder if NWVault can offer dual-download for mods (and especially hakpaks) for rar and zip versions. WinRar is quite superior to winzip and even pkzip 4.5+ (deflate64). WinRar at max often ccmpresses to half the size of zip at max. You got so many downloads because you were first to have a HotU trainer. I'm taking longer becuase I have a monster arena to upgrade and I am also bringing in more custom items and all the store scripts had to be rebuilt becuase their names changed as a result of their split up (NWN standard vs custom). I am also going to upgrade the testing hall.

The idea was to make a Mod, not a hap dash, wham bam thank you m'am lets level and boom thing ... there are far too many of those all ready. This is why each area has placeables, little things that make each room unique. Its supposed to provide atmosphere and be a pleasant place to chill out for a few hours playing with character builds. If you want a bare bones, mono purpose builder then there are plenty of those around but I nor my wife whom this was built for, never found them anything other than practical... they served there use and nothing more. Every mod I release speaks upon the quality of my building, thus I wish to keep this one up to the same standard as the rest of my work. None of the areas have been over produced, they were designed to be functional, practical yet still be aesthetically pleasing. As I said before, this is a Module to play alone or with friends, something to spend a few hours with getting to know a build in detail, and if you cant be bothered to open a few doors then I pray we never meet on any server. Advanced Level options will be included in the next version as I keep on saying. Thank you for your opinion.

My personal little review. First, I quite love the first area you entered, nice and snowny. However, I have a few bits that I am not confindent about the design: The areas are rather large, to get to one place to another, it take a bit of walking. Additionally, to visit a shop, you have to open doors, which really does delay the whole progress of testing a character, which is my main aim to download a leveler mod. It might be very nice to have all these doors and large areas, or click on the door to select more of other areas to go to, but its only nice for the first time. I find it take a little too long to test out character, while some other popular levelr mods has more controll on which levels I like to be at, as well as traveling around the whole mod. All of which is my own personal view.
