This is the semi Persistant World run on the NWN Role Play channel for the past 4+ Months. This version DOES NOT require a hak pack. Download and enjoy! Quite a few areas and beasts. Plus some items and creatures that never made it to the dungeon room floor are contained within. PLEASE NOTE: This requires RAR 3.0 or above to decompress.

This 2Va version is the original base for the semi persistant world like leatherwolf's and howards. Its better in my oppinion than the sad version 8 expanded that somebody made by ripping off the NWN single player. I realy wouldn`t recomend playing this as a single player mod at all. The enemies are very tough unless you find the right charictor setup with items found on the world. To do this you will more than likely need help from others already there. It works very well as a multiplayer persistant world. Although there are not enough quest on it by a long shot. Hope that clears things up a bit.

Is this the same mod that i see online alot like leatherwolf's and howards and some other places that are basically the same thing?

Steve is right. This is an online PW mod. It's meant for parties to work on so it's easier for everyone. There are a bunch of online versions that are played and they're quite popular since everybody can do everything, it just takes a few friends and maybe a decent build. So to Wangmaster : Bite your tongue.

Um I think some people must be a bit confused here. This is meant to be played a semi-persistant world not a single player mod.

Thanks for a very good middleearth adaptation. It's too tough though. No matter if my half-orc barbarian for Saruman or my half-elf druid for the free people. Starting at level one is tough, boring due lack of options and nearly undoable. From the misty mountains back to Bree just to buy a fragged wooden club? Cute.
The D&D system is not as well-crafted as reality, not even half as good as the fighting scenes in the recent LOTR movies. You should craft newbie stuff that allows at least to survive a goblin duel.
I played more than 200 NWVault modules and always made it without cheating, your module sucks.
Thanks to my dire wolf familar I could fight the ogres when the missions for Rivendell start. No chance anyway, even if I go goblin cave/mine to level.
Your pubs are empty and what so big for? Ever thought about a henchman for starters? And a little hint where on middleearth one could find him or her?
I checked the toolset, you really crafted a very big module and loads of middleearth stuff, unique items and so. So good intentions but so unskilled gamemaster-minded?
Check the Conan-Temple of Spidergod.hak it holds heads which look more suiting for Gandalf (bearded with hat, hair colour optional) and Saruman (bearded, hair colour opt.).
Btw...if Frodo can wear mithril chainshirt really every yokel can do it, so we all would be level 20 characters at start in the D&D realms...
If Bree is the only startpoint one can survive and find suiting missions, so why not make Tricksy tell so?

holy +blocked+ warmaster guy, you have ni idea what u are talking about i have played this mod for a good amount of time, i had 3 lvl 20s on it... and i have seen the witch king killed... as i hae sen the white hand destroyer... what makes this mod good is that u need to be in a party to kil them, its an online mod... and saying tolkien trolls would look like d&d trolls or whatever is wrong, the tolkien world was around b4 d&d, so what happened was d&d "nerfed" the trolls

In response to Wangmaster and his 20th level Barbarian wielding two +5 Bastard Swords.

Ok news to you Wangmaster... look before you speak... the movies arent all that... and if you read the books closely yes your correct in that.. but if you knew half of what the skills in DnD are capabable of doing you wouldnt complain... Hell a freakin druid has a 1k DMG spell so it would be a breeze for them if you lessened everythign.... I played on another Version Server and even with all the deathes and more.. I love it.. I mean yeah I got my behind served to me on a silver platter if I attacked an elf or some other huge problem.. but hey I learned I had to go back get my stuff of my corpse and also learned I have to focus on Doing my best at playing... oh well myabe people just have to complain due to not using tactics over pure power like most hacked people do. Oh well.

Why the hell did you make a mod which is impossible to beat? What a bitter disappointment it was for me when I wasted a few hours making my way to Edoras to face the White Hand Destroyer and his Uruk-Hai, to find that they were extremely difficult to defeat. This came as a great suprise to me, as in NWN Chapter 3 I was able to defeat the red dragon Klauth (possibly the most powerful mortal creature in Faerun) without losing even a quarter of my health. My character has also faced in-game versions of Elminster and various other powerful NPCs from various modules and had little difficulty in eradicating each and every one of them. Needless to say, it took my breath away to find that Saruman the White was impossible to defeat - what a waste of time that was. And the Witch King? CR 150? What an absolute joke. Why in God's name would you make a creature with a CR of 150, knowing that no party could defeat him?
Anyway, that's almost enough griping, so - how to improve this module? Give monsters fewer (and less powerful) magic items, especially damage reduction/resistance, spell resistance, regeneration and magic immunity items and the like. For spellcasters, the game was impossible, as every second Uruk-Hai had high spell resistance or magic immunity of some sort. It's frustrating to have a 20th level Wizard who can't even effect an Uruk-Hai with a spell.
Also, every monster has TOO MUCH HP! Every monster I encountered from the books (Uruk-Hai, Olog-Hai, etc.) had WAY too much HP. Hell, the major NPCs like Saruman had HP of over 800+! This is ridiculous. You should model your monsters (such as orcs and trolls) on the monsters used in NWN and the D&D ruleset, and your Epic NPCs on D&D epic NPCs like Elminster. After all, logically, one of Tolkien's orcs should be about the same, if not just a little stronger than those used in D&D. A Tolkien troll shouldn't be much more powerful than a D&D troll (I personally think the Tolkien trolls would look like D&D Ogres rather than the D&D troll) - after all, one of the Hobbits managed to slay an Olog-Hai at the Battle of the Black Gates. And bloody hell - a single shield-maiden and a hobbit managed to slay the Witch-King of Angmar, so why can't a 20th level Barbarian wielding two +5 Bastard Swords?!!! Think about this carefully, and tone down the power of your monsters.
Apart from that, improve your dialogues, fill in many of the 'empty' areas (the long roads are a bore) with a few sparse encounters, and polish things off, and this would've been a decent module. Sorry to moan on and on, but I enjoyed this module until the impossibly hard encounters with creatures that should've been low-mid level encounters frustrated me so much that I felt compelled to write in. As a guideline, no monster in your campaign should have a challenge rating of over 40, and most monsters should have a CR of around 5-15.
Hoping this module is improved (I enjoyed what I could!)
Wishing you luck,
Wangmaster.
