Description
Deep within ancient dwarven caves an old evil stirs. A pair of wizards, awake to the danger, hatch a desperate plan to save the failing town of Lost Hope. A plan that requires the services of a mature adventurer, one with an intrepid spirit willing to dig into the towns strange past and flush out it's deepest secrets, then embark on an audacious mission of hope.

Poorly designed vintage module can be avoided.
The author used his own world/setting for this module. Yet I found a few negative points serious enough to make me quit.
* Minor Spoilers *
1. A farmer with Epic level should be a very rare thing and may need a background story to explain how/why he got stuck in that village.
2. A NPC with CR/EL=27 is out of place in a lvl 12 module. You easily get a TPK (Total Party Kill) with a CR 18 creature (CR >5).
3. A villager/farmer can be a former high level (and even epic) adventurer (e.g. fighter) with a nice set of equipment (armor, weapons and protective gear). I don't see why however the author decided to grant him a +20 natural AC bonus (Even a fighter lvl 20 will need a 20 to hit AC 45).
Note: My previous post was about that same epic NPC (read last hope not lost hope)
4. In one area I found groups of goblin/bugbear chieftains packed together. This makes little sense. I also found trolls standing next to a lava pool.
5. The XP scale is too generous. In one of the small cave you may face bugs granting 1000 XP per kill by the time you exit you will gain a level.
Got a token from a cave = came out, animals attack me,, the villagers attack me,, sooo,, any ideas ? _________________________ Dalethfc

This module was my lost hope as I have been trying to find something playable by an average lvl 15+ character (not a min-max character with the best equipment in the game). This one started OK with the little quest in one of the nearby cave. The module looked well polished and enjoyable except for some OOC conversations and NPC names (the module is Labelled "Dungeon Adventure" not "Parody").
I got the key to the "crypt" but it seems to be impossible to defeat the first "guardian" (with a basic melee character).

Hiya Steve,
I had a lot of fun playing this chapter. I especially
liked the different creatures and not the same thing over
and over again.
I played it as Rogue/Fighter as just rogue was way
to hard even on normal.
I hope that you will make more Mods in the future for
NWN1 and hope that you still read these comments.
I also noticed that you have some GREAT Feedback
but, most did not vote? Just seemed wierd to me.
Because if you like it that much you can also Vote
as it helps the Author get more recognition
for thier work.
I am about to play part 2 (Death Lies Within). I am
sure it will be just as GREAT or even better:)
Thank you for taking your OWN PERSONAL time to make this
series for us! As without you Mod Builders what are
us NWN Fans to do?
Have a Great Night...
Shadow...

First of all, I really enjoy playing this model, there are some very interesting monsters in them and I've been taken by surprise a couple of times. But now I'm stuck :(

I've been to the Token Crypt, Cave of Flesh and the Cave of Wings, I have the token to the Cave of Metal but I can't find the cave itself!
Secondly, -I checked out Ham's Barn after the gate guard gave me the key. He said I'd probably find a token in there but all I found was some gold and nick-nack and a door I can't open/break down. I've talked to all the villagers (as well as the dwarf) at least twice, done some quests (supplies to the dwarf, sword to the girl, necklace to the guard, killed Bram or whatever his name was) What am I missing??

Wanted you to know that I enjoyed Lost Hope very much. There are a few things I would suggest, but overall it was well constructed and quite beautifully done, I thought. The character development was pretty good and I liked not getting bogged down with lots of heavy conversation or heavily accented speech.
Some of the new monsters were great! My favorite are the trembling giants and the miner's death beatles. My character is a 19th level Wizard and I had to work hard to get through some of the fights. I might be easier for a fighter. I did manage to get the Ring of Gahx.
What I really liked was I never got bogged down fighting the same old stuff over and over. There was always a new
scene right around the corner with new challenges. Also, your attention to detail was refreshing.
Some suggestions:
1. I'd like to see the character Gashwing developed a little more. He starts the game, and that's the last we see of him until the end, offering more yucky herbs.
2. Put something besides fish in the wells.
3. Think about creating another module, because I'd like to play it.
Thanks for sharing your efforts, Iby

To Steve C.
Just finished your module, Lost Hope.
Overall I enjoyed the module. I liked the pace of the game and the interesting characters. This module does not build up to a 'huge' fight at the end, which is very refreshing. And everything seemed to work well, with no glitches.
The Miner's Death Beatles were a suprise, tough little bugs, and I particularly liked the Screaming Ickys.
Keep up the good work. I will Look to see more from you in the near future and I will recommend this module to others.
Thanks, Luzzy

I just finished your module.
MAJOR SPOILERS
Some notes from playing:
1 your battles throughout the first half or so of the module are much too easy for a "at least 19th level". Even though the kobolds and goblins were on big time steroids, they had very weak attacks. So it just took 3-4 times as many swings to kill them.
2 I did think that once you got deep into the caves the battles did get much better. The trembling giants were great DC-25 death was very tough. Glad I saved before I got there.
3 The first part of the module is very story driven. The town was nicely done and some of the characters were very interesting. I also thought you did a real good job with each character having an opinion on all other npcs. However, once the town part of the mod is done, the story pretty much ends. It would be nice if there was a more in depth story that is included throughout the cave systems.
4 Your quality control was very good, I didn't find any bugs, it is also nice not to have to find a key for every door.
5. Ending is a little disappointing, I think it should have been alot harder for the final battle.
Overall I did enjoy this module and would recommend it to other players. It is a fun hack n' Slash adventure for a few hours. I would recommend you to lower the advised player level sp to 15 or so. Thank you for sharing your work. I look forward to any future contributions.
Cheers.
