The Yuan-ti are calling for a dark champion. An event is approaching that is critical to the sustenance of their race, the Night of Venom. They need your help to prepare and complete this dark ritual. Answer the call and commit acts of unspeakable evil in the name of the Yuan-ti. The Yuan-ti mythology explored in this module is adapted from the AD&D First Edition article 'The Ecology of the Yuan-ti' by David Wellman. It appeared in Dragon Magazine in Nov 1989.

It would be nice to be able to recruit orc tribe to yuan-ti cause(as participants of the ritual or slaves/warriors). Also I couldn't find dragon's lair, that was mentioned in the journal. It wasn't the enchanted cave, was it?
+0.75 to balance the unfair vote of Steve. _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)

Voting a 3.5 because you don't like playing evil? I'll outbalance that with a 10 cause i absolutely loved it, despite the last battle being reaaaaly tough (ended up running from the fight ^^). Short and maybe not perfect, but great fun.

Excellent dialogue and options. Unfortunately there was no good path so this wasn't fun for me.
Also, ending the module was unclear.
Nice mod for those that like to play evil, but this was too evil for my blood.
Congrats for getting Hall of Fame though. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Glad to see that Night of Venom made the HOF! It still stands the test of time, a truly shiny gem in the NwN Community Catalog!

Nice to see that this module made the Hall of Fame. I always thought it deserved it.

short but sweet, its rare to find a well made module for evil that isn't pure hack and slash and so i was really glad to play this one.
Have to agree with some earlier comments that the end boss is a little bit over the top, but then again its something you can work round so its not really worth taking points off for :)
all in all a well made module for a character that likes to be on the other side of the field.
Nice little adventure. The module can be played with a Neutral character and alignment shift will occur accordingly.

Bonus points for originality, a full series or campaign in this style would be interesting.

I liked having an evil mod but the combat was way too easy for my Arcane Archer (7th Ftr, 1st Wiz, 4th AA) I did take the henchman who didn't help me kil a lot anyway. Good story though.

Pretty good module for evil characters. A nice story dealing with an overlooked race... there really should be more Yuan-ti mods. I would have to agree that it would be even better if it was just a little longer and with some more quests but I wouldnt judge it based upon what I think it should have. Well done Haildodge.

Interesting adventure, although I would like to echo ptc075's comments that it would be even better with some dialog options for neutral characters. I appreciated the background on the yuan-ti and wished there were other modules to interact with that race. I think I saw some in Midsummer Knights' Festival too.

I loved this game. At one point I was thinking of doing a real double-cross and was gleefully surpised that I had that option in conversation. The only consequense was I had to fight..it did not hurt any other plots or anything. Now that really made playing a evil chaotic character fun.
I would recomend this game for anyone who wants to truely play thier evil character. I do agree it was too short, but that did not destroy the fun.

Despite my length-issue reservations, this module deserves its share of praise and recognition!

Haildodge,
I really, really enjoyed the module. I don't normally play evil-type characters, but it was fun to perform quests from the other side of the field, a sort-of "step out of your skin and see what fun lies in the other alignment fields" experience.
My singular point of criticism is an echo of everyone else's - the module was too short. Perhaps that's why it works so well, but I'd be willing to invest time in a longer evil-aligned quality module.
In closing, I highly recommend Night of Venom to anyone and everyone alike. Shake things up a bit.

Liked it. It really is short, but the download page says just as much. Would have been nice if there had been more options for a neutral character. Really, don't play this unless you have an evil one.

This was a good mod, though short.
I didn't see any bugs and I enjoyed the plot. I thought that the last battle was a little too tough though.
