Conversion of TSR's UK2 & UK3 The village of Kusnir has a problem, strange attacks by night blood smeared on the walls. The locals have locked themselves away. The elders are desperate... desparate enough to welcome adventurers
Anyone interested in the UK series should try the excellent UK2 by heresiologist.
Pros:
+ The only appeal this one still have is that it includes UK3 as well.
Cons:
- Not light H&S, this is heavy H&S with respawning monsters
- Combats are not balanced for the level given (my decent lvl 2 adventurer got killed multiple times by rats and bugs)
- No henchmen (a simple fighter lvl 2 could have fixed that)

Didn't like all the side doors to castle; could've been joined in one area
Skulk's dialogue kept resetting
Module ended abruptly; what is the Sentinel? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Enjoyable module. Worth the time to download and play. Off I go to see if there are more modules on the Vault with your name on them. Great rendition of these classics.

I just want to thank you Raldnor for taking the time to make this great rendition of these two PnP modules. I thought your vision of how each area would look and sound added to the overall experience and I very much enjoyed the whole thing. It wasn't overly difficult, but in reality you stayed true to the character level rating you had posted so that was another 'thumbs up!'. Perfect for a intriguing adventure that doesn't take 3 weeks to get through. Thanks again. Highly recommended.

I very much enjoyed palying this module. I thought the loot was a bit heavy but that's a strange thing to complain about!!
The only thing that bothered me was that it felt a bit lonely once I left town. Very few NPCs to interact with. Not necessarily a bad thing. It was just noticeable.
Just so you know, I soloed the nod with a 1st level Ranger and finished about 500xp short of Level 7. I am currently running a muliplayer game with one other person using your mod and all is going well.
Thakns for taking the time to create this mod and share it woith the community.

The first mod I ever downloaded, based on several PnP experiences as a DM in the AD&D years. Excellent job!

I tried e-mailing you but it came back, undelivered.
As I said I overwrote the saved game from just before the Skulk so I can't replicate anything. I finished the module and everything seemed to work with the exception mentioned. At the end I still had two quests in my journal as unfinished (Blue Goblins and Writing on the Walls) Not sure why they weren't finished.
Anyway it was a pretty interesting adventure. I liked the keep layout, pretty realistic. I was a little let down with the action in the prison. It was a hard fight but I expected there would be more of a puzzle to get access.

SPOILER
A strange thing.. After reading your post I decided to run thru the sequence with the Skulk one more time and this time it worked. I had tried this 4-5 times starting from the same saved game last night. In all of these I think I had summoned an animal companion which unsummoned when the Skulk apparead (I thought this a little strange). The Skulk only gave the "please don't harm this.." dialog and then he too unsummoned. There was no glove, no journal update or anything. Since in the sucessful case I had not summoned a companion, I think it has to do with that, but I lost the save game so I can't repeat the case. I think I can complete the game though. There may be a bug there somewhere.

SPOILER ..............
Thurold, at the end of the conversation with the skulk, you should find a new set of gloves in your inventory called the sentinal and then you should be able to go elsewhere in the module. Without the sentinal there are doors later on you won't get through. Please email me with the details

I like PnP conversions and decided to try this one although I'm unfamiliar with the PnP module. I enjoyed playing it. I though the combats were about right in difficulty. I did have some problems completing the mod tho. I opened the mod in the toolset and it appears that you have a lot of journal entries that I never got although it seemed that I should have. It might help if there were more intermediate journal entries or if some of the NPCs had some additional dialog. I may have completed something out of sequence.
SPOILER
Where it broke for me was the confrontation with the Skulk in the cave. I think he was suppose to drop something or give me something and I played through that several times and nothing happened. Got no journal entries. Went back and tried to talk to people but no soap.

Thanks for converting these 2 modules into NWN format for our enjoyment. I really like PnP conversions, especially when they are stay faithful to the original's content and flavor. I noticed that the original UK2 "The Sentinel" was designed for char levels 2-5 and UK3 "The Gauntlet" was designed for char levels 3-6, but your conversion was for levels 1-2. Why the drastic departure? Is your work a conversion or an "interpretation" based loosely on the Alderweg series? Hope it's the former and you'd stay faithful to the original.
