Description
Quest for Glory I: So you want to be a Hero. This is a remake of the classic CRPG from Sierra On-Line. The original game is now over 10 years old and does not run well on modern systems. It is my goal to recapture the fun of the original games in a series of Neverwinter Nights modules. I have been very true to the original game and I have taken time to create custom models, port music, and create NPC portraits to keep the feel of the original series alive in this remake. If you have never played a Quest for Glory game before, or if you are an old fan, you will still find this module fun. You can expect to get as much experience from completing plot points and journal entries as killing monsters. This module focuses on plot and puzzles, not swordplay. Be sure to read the module description for more details.
Feel free to use whatever assets you need from this module in your own works (just give credit where credit is due). If you need some of the customer models, like the Antwerp or Baba Yaga's hut. Let me know. I'm sure I can find them somewhere.

Of course, I am a huge fan of qfg, all five of them. In fact, i might convert your mod into one of my cities and make it presistant for the players. You did a fine job here, I was even impressed by the creatures, i miss them. Great job, hope to see more in the future. Oh, if you need shaperia, for qfg 2, i have the exterior city mostly done.

Was there a response to the problem where people's legs don't show up, cause I'm having that problem now.

A great NWN remake of a true classic! Fans of the Quest for Glory series owe it to give this one a whirl!

Realy have to give props for this module. It imitates the original Quest for Glory game beautifully into Neverwinter Nights, in various ways that are just beautifully done(Baba Yaga's hut comes to mind). I've used this module as a starting module for a campaign I've been hosting for a year now, and his well-crafted areas just keeps on bringing the party back to the valley of Spielburg.

Guys, I am lost. I totally don't see how you "win" this module.
I can't get to the minotaur, inside the baron's castle, and cannot answer the walking house's riddle.
I'm not a wizard so I cannot expect to complete the maze, but still I may have voted a little too early.
Apparently this 6 MB mod is not just 1 afternoon's worth of time. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

The Healer is inside the hut. You can find the Fairy Dust South of the town only at night. Inside the inn there is a sundial that will let you advance time to night time.

How do I find the healer? She's not outside her hut. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Doesn't load, what a drag. _________________________ "You're a dreamer, a schemer, a schemer who's schemes don't work. A man who is not a man..."

Haha! No way!! I just got to thinking about areas from Quest for Glory that I'd like to mimic and include in a PW.. the heads in the guild hall make it a LOT easier!

I'm downloading this now, hope it doesn't suck as I am a true blue fan of the series.
I used to want to make a PW combining Glorianna (the Quest for Glory world) and the places shown in the King's Quest series (Daventry,Serenia,Land of the Green Isles,Tamir, etc.) But I never got around to it. _________________________ "You're a dreamer, a schemer, a schemer who's schemes don't work. Well what can I say that others haven't already. I'm another huge QFG fan and you got the first one down perfectly. It was an absolute thrill playing through it with NWN.

Amazing, loved the original, and now this one too.

*********** SPOILER WARNING ********
Bruno does not give you the password. A thief in town will tell you the password. You will only find him at night, inside the town walls.
P.S. Please vote for the module one way or another. 21 votes and 3500+ downloads is rather sad.
Another update, in the 12 months since I wrote QFG 1 Redux, I finished college, got a job, and got married. Not a lot of time for games, sorry.

Help. Am stuck with this. How do you get the thieves password.
Bruno gives info on graveyard been there no thieves.
Missing green fur and fairy dust. Yep parts of peoples anatomy are missing. Tried to attack brigand lair, killed all brigands on tower (they respawn) but those on cliff do not die (got two down to near death do 20 or more points and they are still on near death). Normally one hit will kill a brigand archer.
Apples for giant must have bought about 40 but still not enough? Moved to trap door and crusher attacked me, can not do damage against him so ran. He is now in the western fields, where he stoppped attacking me.
Do not know anything about original QFG so the music "enough already"

This is an excellent rework of QFG. The story plots, scripts, models, portraits and even musics all successfully reproduce the classic RPG. I can't believe this can be possible. Some missing features in this game is the horse stable job, training with weapon master. Annoying feature is the floating spirits that chase you everywhere you go after you got the mandrake root. However, thanks to Erana's protection, the ghost will disappear when they reach the town. But all these adjustments didn't affect the fun of this game. I am seriously looking forward for NWN:QFG2, as I already beat the NWN:QFG1 with three classes already... hehe.

I've never ran a mod before this, so I might be missing something, but how do I get it to run. I installed it with the .exe file, but now whenever I attempt to run the game it kicks me out at the part where I click create new character. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Hi. I´ve downloaded all the files, and started to play, but I have the same problem and I can´t see my PC waist nor Otto´s one. Saving and restarting won´t work, beacause indeed, by opening the mod with the Aurora, I can´t see capes, nor the waist and leg clothes of many armors (they are at cloth 000, and I can only see the NwN default models).
I used the main download in Lisa´s linked pages. Must I use one of the others? I get a bit lost reading the version considerations. I have both SOU and HOTU currently actualised to date.
I would thank any help, because Hero Quest was the first PC fantasy game I loved, and I would like to replay it in NwN (as it was intended, because I wouldn´t want to fix anything if it´s only a file or version problem which can be solved).
Congratulations for making this mod -I nearly jumped as I saw the Sherifd´s old pic :)

Fantastic Mod! Huge fan of the original Hero's Quest/Quest for Glory Series. You captured the essence of QFG perfectly. The armor designs were an added bonus. Keep up the great work, and I hope that you do continue on with the series.

It is a real pity that you won't be continuing the QFG series. I am anticipating "Afterlife". I am a huge fan of the old QFG series. Great Job!

Hi, I downloaded your module off the vault. The self-installer doesn't seem to work for me. I get to the Do you want to install yada-yada and I hit yes. Then I get an 'Error unable to copy file' and it closes down. Could it be because I don't have either of the expansions for NWN?
Posted by Erondor at 2004-05-30 02:51:22 Voted 10.00 on 05/30/04
i like it very much, reminds me of the "good old times".
;)
You should place all .hak files in the /hak directory, and all modules in the /modules directory. There should be no sub directories in either of these folders.
Sometimes NWN gets confused over custom content and does not display custom clothing. Only advice I can give is to restart the game and try again.
Quest For Glory 2 has been put on hold for a while. For the last 6 months I have been doing a balancing act of work/school that did not leave time for NWN. That has changed recently. I have decided to work only my own module with my own storyline this time around. It's a bit more fun for me. Shameless plug: It's called "Afterlife", and is in the spirit of all the old-school RPG/adventures like QFG. If you are interested in working on the project (or beta testing) shoot me an email.
