It seemed like such a good idea at the time. After saving the world countless times, you'd take this nice, easy job as head of security for the North Pole. But now you spend your days settling disputes over gingerbread houses and investigating tinsel theft; and you dream of the days when the fate of the world rested on your shoulders. Be of good cheer! Your dreams are about to come true...

Worked as advertised. Fun, original with adequate combat challenge for a post AL3 character. Indeed I had to drink a lot more potions than normal and run away a few times but that was fair game. I finished within two hours (no rest) w/o reloading with my Druid/Bard/RDD. Gained 2000 XP at the end (not 25K) enough to level up.
Sadly, I never got the custom music (properly installed) to work. Even VLC does not play these stuff. Was able to sample a track after renaming a file to mp3. Yet no luck in game.
As an appreciation token (not a detailled review) I give it a high score.
Hiya folks. Thanks for all the comments and constructive ideas for improvement. I hope anyone who has played this module recently will vote for it! Votes help give a module more recognition and introduce more people to fan content.
Also, cross your fingers and hope I get "Phonos Heroikos" finished. This will be an epic-level sequel to HotU for the contest. And, yes, Deekin is in...

Module was fun. Enjoyed running around in "The North Pole"
A couple of issues, noted below:
1. One of the doors in the Reindeer stables is bugged. It's locked. If you bash it, you cannot go through it.
2. You may want to have Santa disappear after talking to him. If you follow him to the MSG, you can keep talking to him over and over, giving yourself 10k gp and 25k exp each time.
All in all, a fun little module. Santa's laugh was great.

Well, it didn't really appeal to me, but I think a lot of people will find it funny. It was just way too linear for my liking, even if it was just "for fun".
I haven't identified stuff I found yet, so maybe I'm mistaken, but some sort of santa weapons would be cool (I'd love to whip the bad guy's butt with a Santa Gift Bag lol). And the fact that I got 25,000 XP for it just means that I'm not going to save my character. I thoroughly dislike not feeling I've earned the XP I gain. If I want some easy XP, I'll just cheat.
But good job, all in all, and I didn't really notice any bugs. The optional music added some nice atmosphere!
Use the heavy rope item, and target the ground on your side of the blocked path. A rope item will be created. "Use" the rope to swing across; the heavy rope will then be returned to your inventory.
Help! I am trying to use the Rope in the Mines, but nothing. It will not let me swing across. Am I missing something?

Just finished it and had a nice, though quick time! The dialog very good, well thought out! I too had a minor problem getting the heavy rope, there was some sort of long delay after she came back to me before it appeared in my inventory. So much so that I asked for it again, THEN it appeared in my inventory eventhough she was off to get another rope (and eventually did follow me around trying to give me more rope). It might be simpler just to have her sell it for a few gold?
SPOILERS...........
My only "complaint" was the shortness of it, mainly because I found the secret quick way through most of the CPA office (you did mention there is a way to barely, or not, fight at all). I didn't fight anyone other that roboclaus herself (I was playing a nice guy), though she certainly did not fall easily (which was good). Maybe I do it again and go through the "hard" way this time. My only other minor complaint was actually the time limit. Although its a good story point, I like to explore areas more thoroughly, but I felt I had to rush through to solve the problem before Xmas eve! And the time limit does make it a lot tougher for magic users (I played a Ranger/19 lvl Druid) if they don't have good combat (since rest is limited by the time limit). And also folks better have a +4 or +5 weapon on hand, or lots of dispell magic scrolls/wands to take down Roboclaus!
Other than a minor problem with getting the rope, I found no other bugs. My "complaints" are basically non-issues, this was a well constructed, well thought out, and fun and humorous module, Great job! I'd give it a 9.6!

Thanks, Dolf. Glad you had a good time. Maybe I'll give the accountants a different spell than Time Stop; although, time always seems to stop for me when I'm around accountants. :P
PS: Maybe you could register a vote? Kinda get the ball rolling... :)

A group of us just finished playing the module, what a hoot! Great hunor!
The only problem we had was one of the accountants used Time Stop and kind of froze up the game. The DM killed the Time Stop caster and everthing went back to normal.
Once again, we had a blast

Davey,
Do you get the option to ask her for heavy rope? If not,
does your journal mention you need to go to her for the
rope? If you do get that option, what happens? Does she
just stand there? Does she walk over to the corner and
then walk back but nothing happens? Are you sure you
haven't actually acquired the rope (it uses the same model
as the Stone of Recall from the OC and you might have
overlooked it)? If this is a bug in the module, I'd like
to squash it ASAP, so if you could give me more details
that would be great.

I'm stuck re;atively early. Lady in the tack and harness
