Description
The Forests of Advanced Training is an advanced character training and customization module in a tranquil forest setting. Highland Forest: Training and Merchant area. Jaguars and Falcons host 30 stores selling all the standard items and many more custom items. The panther hosts two additional stores. A gold dragon trains levels/abilities/alignment. The resident ranger sells legal versions his personal custom items and gives away free gold. All merchants can query your total inventory gp value. Monster Arena - Level balanced monster spawn arena with adjustable difficulty Spawns 100 types of monsters CR 1-27. Fantastica: An area with many waterfalls, trees, and animals, and treasure chests with L20-30 plot and >L60 godly items. Rogue Training House: A rich house with many treasures, but it is all locked down and trapped! Rob it if you can! PvP Playground: An area dedicated to PvP and socializing. Players can sit in thrones that surround the large chessboard arena.

It would be an honour for both of us, but I figured it would be nice to ask. Oh, and are you going to update this to CEP 1.51 sometime?

Changes in version 1.9:
*Many, Many, Many more custom items
*Re-organized the stores/merchants. Same setup as Halls of
Advanced Training Deluxe, except that the jaguars/falcons
host five stores each and Tacht hosts the remaining two.
Huaman Leung Chung keeps his own stores but only 'his'
items and the free gold are sold in it. Custom Items are
now in the 32 main stores by category.
*Added cleanup script for monster arena as part of spawn
process. Eliminates need for no-treasure versions of
monsters, compensating for the increased file size from the
influx of custom items a little bit.
*Added upper/lower limits to monster power and count
adjustments in the monster arena

Yeah if you are running the 'box' version 1.10, it won't
work much at all. Some things were added that only work in
the newest version (1.24) - main the chest refillers and
game stability with the godly items.

Your mod would be perfect for leveling, equipping and
testing characters
but it crashes all the time (without error message, music
keeps playing) when I try to buy sth or pull the lever
for the monster spawn !?

My next project is probably to merge this level with the
Halls of advanced training as I notice that some of you say
that module has an easier to use layout. I will most
likely leave the merchants alone (get this mod to get the
custom items), replace the training dragons'
conversation/scripts with this modules' and replace the
training halls with this modules PvP playground and monster
arena. It'll probably be my last major doing before moving
on to MOO 3 / Civ3 Expansion / Roller coaster tycoon 2 in
October.
Changes in version 1.8:
*Added 50 additional monster types to the Monster Arena,
totalling 100 total types - 9 Construct, 10 Outsider, 15
Dragon, 16 Elemental, 36 Undead, 14 Giant.
*Added refill scripts to the godly/plot items scripts and
the central chests in the rogue training house
*Changed the respawn code methodolgy in the generic chests
in teh rogue training house

Changes in version 1.7:
*Undead Arena changed into Monster Arena. Same Terrain.
More monsters, from 24 to 50 - 26 undead, 6 constructs, 3
outsiders, 15 dragons). Added level balancing, plus levers
to alter relative monstr power and monster count.
*Made doors auto-close and locked doors re-lock
*Treasure chests in rougue training house respawn and re-
lock. I don't see a way to make traps respawn though
(other than making them multi-shot but that don't help
trapps that have been disabled).
*Training dragon resumes conversation after doing stuff (no
more fakespells but kept visuals).

I'm currently making a balancer for the undead arena. I
will probably also expand it to include outsiders and
constructs.
Changes in version 1.6:
*Grabbed custom items from 8 modules (Crystal Tower,
Crystal Tower 2, Lake Lineria, Death Mountain, Bramblewood
keep, Bramblewood Reinforcements, Tragedy in Tragidor,
Spires of Ravenloft) and put them into Human Leung Chung's
Store
*Fantastica: Moved all plot items that were in the left
chest into right chest in. Added godly versions of plot
items into to the left chest. The Rapiers are valued at
over 250,000,000 gp. Many people emailed me asking for
godly items so I have provided.

*New Area - DM Playground - small area for a player logged
in as a DM (usually the server admin) to play and do things
in privacy.
*Added a new merchant - Tacht, Huaman Leung Chung's Ranger
Panther companion. He sells plot, npc, and creature
items. NPC items were moved here from the jaguar shops.
Plot/creature items are newly added.
*Upgraded documentation. ModuleShortDescription.txt is

Tiny update- fixed some suspended trees. I'll fix the
balance of the undead arena someday (i'm traveling labor
day weekend).
You're right with the undead arena. Right now A level 12-
16 character is needed to survive the full random range of
undead (most powerful is Mummy Lord). It is too easy for
level 20s and impossible for under level 8. Its using a
downloaded full respawn system which I want to strip down
and customize for this module, which will take a while as
I'm still not advanced in the game's object model, before
doing any level balancing. Otherwise the module will only
bloat in size and cpu overhead because a bunch of useless
code running.
Thanks for your comment though. Bring in more! Hope you
like the new PvP playground.

Had a problem with how your Undead spawn scales. I took a
L1 Fighter into the Undead area, spawned undead, and got: 1
Shadow Fiend (impossable), 2 Skeletons (normal), and a
Tyrantfog Zombie (impossable). Needless to say, my Newby
fighter was respawning pretty quickley.
It might be nice to have several diffrent sundial spawn
devices; one for each range of player - 1-5, 6-10, 11-15,
16-20. That way you'd have a better idea of what to expect.

Changes in version 1.4
*New area - PvP Playground. Underground atrium with an
City Exterior tileset with lots of nature. 16 throne for
everybody to sit in, which surround a large center
chessboard arena. No monster sqawns - dedicated for PvP
and player socializing. Acessible via an extensive cave
network touching the undead arena and fantastica.
*Added inventory gp value query to all merchant / trainer
conversations (convienient for customizing characters for
PvP mods that limit inventory, like Contest of Champions)
*Tied merchants/trainers to POST waypoints and have them
regularly return to them (not just after combat) for when
they engage in combat, or just get bumped aside by a
wandering animal critter. They don't want to point south
for some reason though (point waypoints south and they face
in mirror-image angle to the north)

leung chung wan't conected to his conversation anymore
(updated instances from bleuprint, forgot to update
conversation file link), preventing access to the custom
items store.

Just a bugfix update:
Changes in version 1.31:
*Fixed Leopards - they are no longer hostile
*Tweaked Level 30 plot item rings and amulet (Huaman Leung
Chung's personal gear). 10% weight reduction on rings is
silly :) Replace GP value of weight reduction with dodge
bonus / more damage resistance.
*Huaman Leung Chung's Battle and Healing Rods (plot
version) have descriptions now.

Changes in version 1.3:
*Changed Huaman Leung Chung's Armor +1 - +5 to leather
armor (AC +2). Higher level armor remains as padded armor
(AC +1). The personal armor remains as normal clothing to
allow unlimited dexterity bonus.
*Tweaked level 8 version and added a level 10 version of

*Added many placed sounds to all areas

This module seems to be doing well for popularity :)
Probably not the best but definitly above average! This
module was orignally posted only 6 days ago (8/10/2002) and
it has 650 downloads.

I'm just being blind. Didn't see the forgot password
form. Looks like the DB does not have a unique constraint
on the email address (it sent me 2 emails with 2
passwords). I updated the submission in this account and
then logged into the dupe account and deleted the
submission in there, so this entry should get the update now

I just uploaded a new version. I don't know where to get a
password so I submitted as new. I saw 1 login/registration
link but it costs money and it looks like an invitation to
spam. Also it uses a username and not an email address as
the login name so its probably a different system. If the
module actually gets updated and not duped (bad DB design)
or rejected, these are the changes:
Changes in version 1.1:
*Added waypoints to merchants with map lables so they can
be found more easily in the forest.
*Made sundial spawn 4 random undead instead of 12-20 per
click. You can rapid-click on it to spawn more at a time.
Gives easier time for those wanting to use undead arena for
lower level characters.
*Added a little over a dozen generic custom level 20 items
to Huaman Leung Chung's custom items store.
*Added the Battle Rod and Healing Rod to Huaman Leung
Chung's personal gear and their scaled down versions
(levels 1,4,8,12,16,20) to Huaman Leung Chung's store.
*Reduced skill bonuses from +10 to +8 on Level 13 version
of Human Leung Chung's boots of Speed and Stealth to bring
them down to level 12
*Made custom versions of skeletons and bodak that don't
litter the undead arena with containers (knuckle bone /
bodak tooth).
