Caminia's history is one of preparation for war. Far to the south, the Lightning Wall separates Caminia's people from the horrors of the unknown land of Calignox. Originally, The Vigilant Council was created to maintain the defences along the Wall's perimeter and to hunt down and exile any Sorcerers that were discovered. Only Adamantite is fully effective against these creatures and its rarity has always been legendary. In recent years, less and less of the precious rock has been found, and the discovery and successful excavation of Adamantite became one of the Council's greatest priorities. The failure of the Council to deal with practical matters led to the creation of the Shadow Guild by a group of retired adventurers. Dedicated to helping the land survive by taking more pragmatic steps irrespective of the law, the Guild has been publicly censured many times. A new initiate of the Guild, your first posting is to the dwarven mining town of Greten's Well...

Neil, I do indeed have a decent sword and a set of bracers from that quest. yep the tower one is tuff because the stirges ...I now relize that you indeed spent time here to polish this mod and i will return to npcs to check them out, although my reload button is still getting some use...Rarely do mod makers utilizize npcs in such fashion and so I got a bad habit devolped of never returning. Cant say enuff times...what fun I am having !

Hi Ragnor. Glad you're finding it a bit easier, the temple quest should give you a few more bits of loot. I really tried to get the balance right. Having heavily equipped adventurers just doesn't seem to feel right for the campaign world. Magic and Adamantite is supposed to be rare, which is why some of the things happen the way they do (spoiler free! :) ). Generally, I think what I need to work on is balancing the treasure for someone who doesn't find everything, rather than assuming someone will eventually find all the secrets / drops / areas. I'll have a look. Hafus isn't exactly a robot, he's a special construct (you can heal him, for example). I was always a real fan of the Modron in Planescape:Torment, and while he's not exactly the same, he's a good homage :) You don't find out much more about him in this module, but I was going to flesh him out later on down the road. The trolls are hard. I always found them challenging (esp the one in the tower). But neither guard areas that are part of the main storyline (though one leads to quite a large side-quest). Last, you should be able to ask the town crier or the innkeep about work that has come up and quests that are available. Good luck with it! Neil

Quick personal background so you know who you are talking to...I am a 46 year old.."original gamer" ...I play NWN as an explorer/roleplayer,with the music turned off...(I noticed your mod has no background music...lol...I dont have music playing in my head for atmosphere in rl and I am not a fan of mood music as I roleplay) I expect the visuals and background noises to set the mood...and my role in the world has to fit so to speak..I hate mods with unexplained loot all over the place or no reason for my pc to be there. That said your mod meets thease elements and I am having a blast...but...its been hard at times...I also play at hard core rules settings if that helps you understand my role in your audience.

Neil ..problem with the dwarf that will sell me the items I need...well im broke..I have made only like 400 gold completeing first quest and a third I guess of the second...and with a shield and a potion or 2 thats all gone...my thoughts are it would be easy now that I am fighting a few humans and dwarf mercenarys, maybe they could drop a plus 1 sword or such, but hey this is your creation and I will find a way...the trolls...thats the buggaboo...they regen too fast for the damage I can deal at lev 2...and the rewards need not be a present but between the slow exp climb, the lack of gold...(the corpses and skellies of previous adventurers show that all adventurers in this realm were poorly outfitted and carried little gold, no wonder they are dead...lol ) and such my poor newly rolled 2 lev ranger just is really having to be extra careful and the reload saved game is getting a workout. Anyhow I will try to find a side quest or 2 I can manage. And as for the henchman...spoiler maybe.... I dont get him...I cant seem to reslove how a mech is in a world that I must fight with swords and bows...and so I just cant seem to use him in battle because my role is not allowing it to fit in ...maybe I am missing something that is important to let him fit in...but its currently not in my rp imagination...I am not a fan of the cyborg or mech or whatever anyhow so its hard for me to rp it I guess.

Also, are you soloing it or did you get the henchman? Neil

Hi. I tried to make the loot a little tight at first to give players with high CHA / good persuade skill a little compensation (as they get stuff cheaper). Maybe I overdid it though, I'll have a look. There should be a couple of class specific magic items in the Northern passes, plus there's a quest for Lecia when you find a particular tablet that gets you a nice item. Which critters are a problem? And what stage of the game are you at? If you've solved the Caravan quest, there is a an 'optional' quest from Shilk (the priestess) that can give lots of loot and a magic item or two. I changed the default loot scripts to not give magic weapons until a bit later (after 5th level) because you get the chance to buy Masterwork items from Was after you solve the caravan quest. The default weapon scripts also give weapons based on the skills you've picked (so you'll get a weapon you have prof / focus in), and I didn't change that. Prices are based on a factor of CHA, persuade, your guild rank and your individual rank with that person. Hope this helps, I'll have a look at putting a bit more stuff in. Neil

Neil...at first I rolled a new paliden...but I felt like 2 hrs in I would prefer a ranger so I rolled up a Ranger and restarted...but I have hit a wall of sorts...Ive played for 5 or 6 hrs and I have no presents!!!... lol..I love the mod but I feel like I have worked so hard, and have received very little in return. Ive dead ended sorta cause I have very little other than my starting gear at lev 3...so I have dead ends to 3 different areas sorta because a few certain mobs are to tuff for my puny weapons...but I am trying to find a way..but a plus one weapon or a few gold to buy a belt or such would be a big help! Now I do like the spartan loot way..esp all them barrles peeps fill with crap, but I really feel a little short changed here.
