Free New Phlan! The New Phlan City Council is leading the fight to free their captive city. Heroes are retaking the city block by block from the evil hordes. This is the first of a series of adventures loosely based on the late '80s computer game Pool of Radiance and the PnP module Ruins of Adventures. This conversion purposefully deviates from the original game to add new depth to an classic story.

Tried this again with one of my dwarf who had trouble with undead early. Made another one (barbarian) who was around lvl 4 when I started. Completed the module with an unresponsive girl. Never found the General pledge but we killed everything around and found the four other items. The module is unclear though. The city is only there for flavor (no related quest) so were the passwords (AFAIK). To end the module one only had to handle the waves of enemies and simply go back. I hope that the entire campaign was better than this. Somebody interested may like to try the conversion by Chris Fowler.
3-4: It is clear the author tried to make something interesting, but still fell short. With more work it might be worth the download.

Interesting adventure with great scripting. I did not like the end however because a module that cannot be completed (without the clues in the readme) is not IMHO a good module. You guys (I mean the authors) left me with little choices. I may retry it with an elf or a dwarf to see how it goes.
* Some Spoilers *
Stuck behind a gate. OK. A bunch of orcs coming. OK. This does not mean we should not be able to return to the city. One could become invisible and simply bypass the monsters. Any character using polymorph (or shifter) could simply fly away. I also noticed that it is not possible to ask the NPCs in town to translate the stuff on the paper and that if you go back to the NPC you get a bunch or gold and no XP regardless of the outcome at the keep.

This is a great scenario. Very well done, and the new twist at Sokol keep was quite engaging!
Although I managed to finish it on Solo, the last part of the adventure I believe would be even MORE fun with multi player!
No negative comments that I can think of ... a good fun filled retelling of an old classic :)
