SECRET DOORS FIXED!! Super Sorry to all. It worked and played at home but didn't work after I downloaded it. It now works!! This is a modification on RavenBuilders The Spires of Ravenloft. Modifications are Searchable secret doors, Beefed up final and close to final fights to accout for NWN, Spawn portal penalty. Other minor changes. This is still the original RavenBuilder version. I feel this is the best mod made yet. Great job RavenBuilder

I never liked the storyline to this one.
Just a castle romp.
Others will like it, just not me. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
Not sure if this an improved version. Raven Builder's conversion is pretty close to the original AD&D module AFAIK.
This one seems pretty tough even with a level 9 paladin.

MAJOR SPOILERS & BUG REPORT!!
have been stuck in s.o.r. for a whole day now.. :(
first of all, i started with a 3rd level paladin and am now 9th level.
while visiting the larders of ill omen i fell into a trapdoor that led, pretty soon, to the highest spire and the count..
however, i did not fight him since i was too low a level then. i then explored every nook & cranny of Ravenloft, eventually finding his sarcophagus, wich is, i assume, where i will find him later. unfortunately, now that i'm high enough in level to kill him i just cant find that trapdoor anymore, so i cdant find the count in his study. i DID find the other entrance to the highest spire and when there i see, from the room i'm in, his room where he was earlier..
is this Mod bugged?? am i stuck forever? any help?
ps.. FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT FIND THE WAY TO THE SACOPHAGUS:
in one of the small square rooms with small sacophagi inside there's a portal of yellow light, in the dungeons.. its not the dungeon with the cells, its entered from a series of secret doors located both on the main floor(in strhad's room) or on the count's court.

OK. The blue forcefield area can only be entered by Lawful Good.
I have played the PnP game, but not this one yet. We got in through the window from above with our not lawful good characters.
But in that crypt is the Sun Sword (+10 to vampires)
I will pull out my pnp version and try and go through the game and take a look.
btw - does this use all standard haks or does it come with alot of custom content?

How do we make the count appear? Me and my group played through this, and we got passed the vampire guards... but no count.
Is there some trick to this I don't get? And yes... we have searched through everything and been in EVERY room... including behind the blue force field.

All in all, a fair hack'n'slash. I never played the original PnP, so I can't compare as to whether this lived up as an accurate representation.
As for NWN gaming, the adventure felt short and I was a little frustrated that I couldn't see a couple quests through to completion AFTER killing Strahd, e.g., the eulogy.
Also, [SPOIL] I was a little frustrated with the final segment, because I couldn't find the "means" to reach Strahd. I knew what I needed to look for, but it took me forever to find it. I'm willing to place that frustration on myself, though, and not blame the game.
End the end, had it been longer, and a little more flushed out as an RPG, I would have enjoyed it more. Also, the ending was weird. I.e., no ending. I finished, got congrats by the townsfolk, saw two Ileenas! (One w/ me and the other as a NPC), and then ran around in circles until I figured that the adventure had ended. _________________________ OGRE-SLAYING KNIFE (+9 Adamantine Ogre-bane Dagger): Against all creatures other than ogres, it functions as a +1 adamantine weapon. As a +1 adamantine weapon, it has a +1 enhancement bonus on attack and damage rolls and the attributes of an adamantine weapon. Against ogres, it offers a +9 enhancement to attacks and damage rolls (along with an additional +2d6 damage) and the attributes of an adamantine weapon. No one knows the history of this simple seeming-ly non-descript dark steel-colored blade, but it is likely safe to assume that the knifes creator had a thing against ogres. When activated, i.e., automatically against ogres, the blade is sheathed in a harmless flicker of reddish light (20 ft. radius) and runes burn red down the daggers length - one side of the blade mirroring the other. (Infernal - it reads - Bathe in Blood - Slake the Thirst.) Hardness 20. Hit points 3. Strong evocation; CL 27th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, summon monster I; Price 104,002; Cost 52,001 gp + 2080 XP.

I have no idea whether I'm the only one on this page anymore. If not, I should clarify my prior post:
I'm stuck.
I've cleared out nearly the entire crypt area (with the exception of (1) the tombs behind the force wall and (2) Strahd's crypt.) I'm unclean to enter the tomb and I keep stepping on unseen teleportation traps the send me to the far end of that crypt level. I'm aware that there is a portal that secrets me to Strahd's crypt, so as to avoid the teleportation trap, but like I said, I opened every door and cleaned out nearly all of the level, and I never found any portal to carry me into the secured crypt.
1. I am assuming that once I complete killing Strahd, then I'll be able to enter the tombs.
2. If it's vice versa, I have no idea as to how to "cleanse" myself.
3. Where is that dadburned portal that will carry me into Strahd's crypt?!
Side Comment: I imagine this was a glitch. On one run to the crypt door, I ran across a teleportation trap right with one of Strahd's undead appeared. As such, I was able to make it across the trap without being teleported. There, I sheathed my axes and drew my bow. Following a long series of pot shots, I brought Strahd down (but was never able to open the gate). When I stepped away, I was teleported away AGAIN!) _________________________ OGRE-SLAYING KNIFE (+9 Adamantine Ogre-bane Dagger): Against all creatures other than ogres, it functions as a +1 adamantine weapon.
