shame on you that there is no sequel:)
few complaints:
- no portraits!
- difficult at the beginning
- could use some more diversity(not that plot is dull, because it isn't, but the critters, all custom, go for few levels. Killing 100 skeletons and wraiths is too much.
- chitalah cocoons(spawning ones) should be unusable
- henchie fight bare handed or with spear so no choice regarding his career. Also in later parts he is totally useless and dies rather quickly.
- healing pixie - is neutral towards me and sometimes she casts a spell on me(AoE) or my henchie thus getting him aggressive against her.
- you can destroy/ release keepsake as many times you want and get XP
- once I saw skyrim attacked by ellonoran in the entrance to the keep, faction issue!
- forge: I heard u made a list of items but ur website is gone. Forge could remember charges and not use crystal for doing nothing as there are not so many of them laying around. Also I sold all "Simple" things before I got to the forge. It could be mentioned or they should be tagged as plot. Couple of recipes I managed to find: crystal ring(forge's plant) + 3+sparkling gems(goblin hideout) make u a wizard ring; ethothic runes are simple and they go with many things; 6 golden boots from seal guardians make you boots; finally spikes and simple gloves make you a barrier gloves. _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)

I've played dozens of different mods and this is still my favourite. The atmosphere and story really drew me in and I thought the combat balance was pretty good.

Some of the most well-designed maps I've ever seen - I'm not usually one to look at textures, but I couldn't help but feel at peace and drawn in by the way the world was designed. Very very good dialogue in a rich setting with a quite interesting travelling system and hench"ghost".
I considered this my personal favorite up until Tales of Arterra came along. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Average HNS mod with vg dialogue and main plot. Found it very easy as you could just beam out at any time. Even put scale upto very difficult, thinkung it might be more of a challenge

This mod is a basic HnS mod with a good storyline. Because of the soul planesa and recall stone combats were pretty easy throughout (except the corrupted elementals that merged and could only be damaged by acid or magi missile, my character 4/4/3 ftr/rgr/rg str heavy had a good UMD). The seal guardians also and so henchman came in handy (you have to talk to him to make him use weapon but forget the bow). Due to UMD my str was 23 without potions etc and imp knockdown again proved to be vital (the storm giant eg, must have had 1500 hits but IK took him out)
Meeting the Tynish rep in crypt was VG but nothing came of it and I guess the halfling is for Part 2
Average mod though overall, although dialogue and main plot VG.

After the incredibly repetitive combat in the first parts of this mod I was almost ready to quit playing it, but then things started getting interesting when I reached Delver's Home, so I kept going and finished it. Looking back, this could have been a really nice module, but it it spoiled by some fairly major issues. Some of them are design problems, while others are bugs, many of which have probably been introduced in NWN patches as someone noted in an earlier comment. For the record, I played as a Dwarf Barbarian.
*** MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS ***
* Way too much repetitive combat. This is certainly a matter of taste to some extent, and I hate huge numbers of identical combats. But seriously, "go and kill 100 skeletons"?? It wasn't even the kind of hack and slash where you can mow through the enemies like wheat, (which can be kind of fun), these enemies could do real damage to you, so you had go through the "kill a few enemies, rest, repeat" cycle over and over and over before the story advanced at all.
* Some of the fights were unbelievably hard. I normally play on Hardcore difficulty, but for some of these combats, I had to drop down to Easy, buff up as much as possible, and then pray that I would get good rolls. It wasn't just a matter of being prepared and using tactics; even then it was pure luck as to whether I could survive -- these were fights against single enemies (the guardians of the seal were notably bad in this regard.) I had to reload saved games way too many times.
* The Host of Spirit henchman is almost completely useless. His auto-healing capabilities were very welcome, but I got the impression that he was supposed to do a bit more than that. He often doesn't join in the fighting, even when he's being attacked. He fights unarmed, which ends up doing nothing against harder enemies. He doesn't respond to commands at all (e.g. follow, stand your ground, etc.), so he can just go running off on his own into a room full of enemies and die. These may well be bugs introduced by BioWare, and it may have worked fine when the mod was first created, but that doesn't help when you're trying to play it *now*.
* Are you seriously supposed to put random combinations of things in the forge to try and find out what you can make?
* You get alignment shifted towards evil for killing people who attack you first. What the...?!
* The module really needs to be proofread. There are spelling and grammar mistakes everywhere.
Apart from these issues, this module has an interesting plot and a different setting than most, and it is unfortunate that it turned out more tiresome than engaging for much of the play time.

Hi,
I face two problems very very strange indeed!
I play a monk character and every time a unequip my boots of pius devotion, the ones given at the start of the game, my AC gows down by 2 . By equiping and unequiping I dropped my AC to -42 , I stop there because I got bored!
My second problem has to do with the first quest. Although I am 4 level, having killed hundrends of undead and reached the lowest level of the crypt, when I return to the shaman he doesn't sense that. He gives me the set of the original dialogue but nothing concerning the completion of the first trial.
I have stopped there waiting for your help in order to continue this very promising module.
"Lost in Mist"... I've been running around all the known locations, searched every SE coner (as Steve_Saviki suggested)... Can anyone help me out with it?
Am I really supposed to kill everyone in Skyrim Keep? It seems like a weird way to win over the council's favor, by killing them. I tried running through invisible, looking for Vindil Orasoothe (who is supposed to be friendly to our cause) but everyone spotted me anyways.
I would rather not slaughter all the defenders, can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do?

Excellent role-playing, battles make you think before heading straight in and this module took longer for me to complete than Tolitz' Diablo campaign despite its smaller file size.
Mike, I hope you come back and complete part 2. You have fans that are waiting. :) _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

I still can't figure where this "Lost in Mist" area is. I'm standing next to Trellis, the guy who says that I must be properly equiped to go through his barricade. Can somebody give me directions from there?
(Do I need to go through the West Earth Passage? The one with the gate in the middle of the hallway?)

To break the barrier, you need to find the hidden area called "Lost in Mist". It is accessed by heading in the SE corner of the same guy that gives you the key to the barrier.
Head east 2 areas and you will stumble upon an open square area that tells you you've discovered a hidden trapdoor. Enter it and go from there. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Please help i am stuck it seems i cannot get the key from guy to unlock the door to kill the Chitilah he says something like you are not ready. To my knowledge I have done everything there is to do up to this point. I have been to the bottom of the crypt and killed everything down there except the big skelly. I have been the goblin house and killed everything there. Did the miny quest with the vendor that lost his men. Gave the crystal the head shaman guy. What am I missing?

Hi,
I'm stuck in the middle of my 2nd trial. I've done the goblin house, but am not sure what to do in the crypt "fully".
The 2nd level has a locked door to the north and I've recovered all the gems on the 3rd level, but am not sure what to do.
Any help is appreciated & thanks,

When I read the announcement the author was going to finally release the fixed part 1 and the next part I was excited. Now around 6 months have passed and no word. I guess we can forget about the sequel.

I played this mod a couple of years ago and have just started replaying it. It's still one of the best mods I've seen. The story line is original and absorbing, the fights are challenging amd there are lots of nice little extras. I'm really pleased to hear that TOS Chapter 2 might be coming out soon.
To add a bit of interest, I added PrC 2.2c to the module, using the PrC Module Updater and I haven't experienced any problems with it.

The final battle is ridiculous difficult!I am only lv11 Druid must face two or three storm giants and the giants
have both special electric attack and spell immuity. And
the battle zone is too small no way can try any tactic.

How do I get the key to the chitalah?
Someone posted earlier "Andrew, you need to visit the Lost in the Mist area before you can get the key and go into the tunnels. This is an area accessed by noticing a secret passage, when you go through the tunnels to deliver something to the guy with his dog."
Anyone know what tunnel and guy with dog this refers to? I have cleared out both the goblin area and tombs, and reported everything I could to the head shaman as well as getting the quest about the murdered ritualist so far.

I can't seem to find the hermit anywhere! Could someone please tell me where to find him? It seems important if I want to advance in this mod.
it is in the place, where you keep hurting yourself, if you don't have a special helmet on. It's in a weapon stand, if i remember correctly. It's in a very odd place, but easily found, once you know what you are looking for.
Alternatively, you can use the special boots- that transport you over small distances- to get to the second floor in the keep and you proceed from there.
