Don't know why this amazing Diablo recreation is so underrated.. Maybe it's becouse the players want more - Hellfire addon perhaps? Anyway I gave it 10 cuz it deserves it! Great Job!

This is a nice Diablo module that stays true to the spirit of the original game. I just have two problems:

1) In the Catacombs level 5 or 6 I think, there is a chest up on a raised platform that has a description indicating that it is locked up and obviously hides something of value. Yet, I cannot get to it no matter what I do. All I can do is smash it open, but even then I still cannot grab the remains because it is up on an elevated surface.

2) Chamber of Bone: There is a tome in the chamber that asks which of the three inscriptions I want to read. Initially I hit ESC to save the game so that I don't do something irreversibly stupid. Then I went back to the tome - only this time it does not give me the option to read it at all. As a result, I cannot finish the chamber of bone quests - both treasure chests remain locked up.

I would like to continue playing this but am hoping someone can provide a fix for the above problems. It's a good mod but... obessive-compulsive guy that I am, I just can't stomach leaving a quest unfinished. :-)

Interesting.

Only real complaint I have is that I started in Hell with my level 24 paladin, and can't seem to land hits on the big D himself, minus natural 20 rolls.

I opened him up in the toolset and saw he has an AC of 96????!!!!!

awesome, thank for making this mod, it brings back the old days :). i am stuck though, can someone plz help me
1. i read the tome and i have one blood stone. the doors on side of the cavve wont open. i know i need 3 blood stone to put them in the 3 thingys. please help.

2. the bone room - i read the tomb and it game me a key and blew up. i unlocked the 2 chest in the rooms. i check the file and there is another room thats hidden, how do i get there?

My Bro and I DL'd all full versions(1.1,1.2,1.3.) We Have the EXACT same computer (we built them ourselves, so they are truely IDENTICAL), with the EXACT same OS(Winxphome+sp2)we both have the same problem. when i run fullversion, my screen goes black and stays that way!THEN I get the dreaded "Windows Blue screen of doom" and a msg that says "Windows has been shut down for your computer's protection, because device "whatever" is stuck in an Infinite loop!!!! But when my brother dl'd the "lite" version on his machine, it ran fine!!! WHAT GIVES? we are currently playing "lite," But we would Like the FULL version, as we are both MASSIVE Diablo fans(1+2) and like all the annoying sounds and +blocked+. some sysinfo==p4 celeron 2.6ghz 256mb pc7200 RAM 128MB Gforce 7200 GPU. Latest updates for hardware, software, firmware, ECT....

@MattV: Worry not about the money I had well more than 10 000 000 gold peices in some games without any problem...

@Mecha-Ice, if you still read this messages. I have a little advice. In 1.2 you set all areas non restable, now you set all unrestricted. It seems you dislike people resting at every corner, what about setting only the town as restable? Or adding a dialogue entry to the inn keeper that allow resting?

I too noticed that selling things to Griswold tends to get tedious after a while. I just started selling things to the others and don't worry too much about what I get for them. I've alreadt bought/found enough good stuff that I'm practically invincible, and I'm carrying about 800,000 gold with another 200,000+ stashed (I wasn't sure how the game would react if your gold went over 1,000,000).

I'm usually pretty obsessive about keeping my dungeon neat, and tidying up after myself, but lately I'm just leaving all kinds of junk just laying around.

Excellent mod. Hope you do the expansion levels (the ones by sierra) as well. Would be nice to include some "sample characters" so ppl would know how to imitate the original ones.

I've been playing this module for a while and so far I have only one thing to nag about:
The Griswold's Basic store gets growded after some levels beneath Tristram ;)

Currently I am at 7th. level and Griswold Basic Store weapon tab has 20 pages and selling not-in-the-basic-list weapons is painfully slow. Is there a fix or I'll have to resort making changes myself (tho I am not very good at toolset thingy;)

When i run the mod, it always ask for the hak file. I dl the file put the hak in the directory nothing happens.
WHat gives, i wanna play the mod badly can anyone help me?

Hi there, i downloaded "DIABLO - THE REMAKE VERSION 1.3 .:FULL EDITION:."

and got an error message upon starting the game it says "could not open file because it was created using a newer version of the toolset and/or game resource"
so i updated to the latest patch (v1.62) but i get same error, do u know why?

Anyway, I until I can get around to playing it, I've spawned a question. Have you ever thought about adding the Hellfire Diablo expansion to this mod? Hellfire was incredibly awesome, partially because of the added monk, and partially because of the adventure.

If you take a look at the foes in Hellfire, a lot of them are early renders of Diablo II enemies. Primarily Act 5 foes.

You cant blame the crashes on the original game. I played through the main game AND the 2 expansions and I crashed maybe twice during the entire time. Now I crash every time I try to load and/or quit which isnt really a problem unless you have to load really often, BUT it also crashes every time when you deal the final blow on Diablo and THAT is extremely annoying since it means you cant finish the mod.

Please look into it since it must be connected to the script that starts when Diablo dies. Great mod otherwise =D

In the original diablo it was also fing hard to play a spell caster in the beging just so you know :)

I don't see how a sorc/wiz can survive past level 2. I had to buy a Summon Monster V scroll just to defeat The Butcher. And as far as I can tell it was the only Summon Monster V scroll any of the merchants had. But, I was expecting him to be a challenge anyway. So, I dispose of him and take my new dire bear down to level 3. As soon as I enter at least four creatures attack us and wipe him out in a matter of seconds. There was nothing I could do about it. Also, there were a couple of creatures I was attacking with bolts +3 and I got the message that my weapon was ineffective. The burning skeletons come to mind. Why are low level creatures immune to bolts +3? And on a side note, the mod freezes up my system when I try to quit it.

Great, awesome, sweet, I loved it! the music and voices are precisely how i remember them being! Again, Great work!

I also had the crashing upon exit, my system is only a year old. I dont see how it can happen to old or slow systems. NWN has never rashed for me when exiting another mod or the game period for that matter.

My game not only crashed on exit, but also when I killed Diablo. Just froze after several big hits Near Death. I figure it was the fatal one. Sort of appropriate. The Devil cheats.
