This mod has run for a year or two and has had hundreds of players over that time, it has constantly been updated by myself and others so you may see some of your work in there we have tried to keep to the tolkien theme as much as possible, I hope you enjoy it as much as every one else has, Sorin

I have played modifactions of this land for a long time and I just now came to the vault to look for it bacuse I wanted to find the original. I am appalled that there were only votes for this module. It is the best and most used LotR module out there. I wish the designers were given some reconition for such a well executed module.

When I try to load the module in a dedicated server, it crashes every time. What do I need to make this work? I have all expansion packs including CEP 1.50 so why is it crashing? (Why is it always me!?)

i played this online last night on a pw server, the one taht has been up for ages. and it is quite good for action and lotr fans. aslo you say hundreds of players have logged in which is an understatement. if you look at the downloads which is nearly 40,000, at least 40k people have played this mod which is quite impressive. i say at least beacause most people have played this with other players and all the pepeple from the PW. so although i havent played through the whole mod, it is quite an acheivment to have 40,000 downloads

First of all the hak pak required is simply the cep pack you need to install it to play, secondly to the unnamed person who wrote it was based on the V8 it wasnt whenthis started it was based on V2 and we have built it from there so before trying to weakly promote your own server try getting your facts right.
Any one need anymore help please feel free to ask and Ill do my best to solve your problems this server has run for a few years and is still running so it does work

I also downloaded the mod, and get the hak pak message. What hak paks are needed? I loaded up the mod in the DM Client and it looks great, help me get it working on the Dedicated Server. Thank you!

When I try to open module I get "No hakpack installed, check log for hakpac." There are no listed haks for this module though???

The game appears to freeze but it doesn't, it just takes a lot of time to load (maybe 4 or 5 min) when the progress bar reaches the end (in the loading screen) or in the character selection screen. ;)

I've seen quiet a few low caliber modules out there. Many of the LOTR Modules created are very bad. In terms of accuracy...many things need to be changed. I myself have created many modules in my day. I have actually been working on a LOTR module. If anyone wishes to see my work, please visit my server. 66.183.138.234:5121. I don't think I can say its the most accurate server, I havnt seen all of them, but if you had a LOTR map, you could use it to get around this server. The directions and placements of all areas are dirived from the LOTR map. Based on the 3rd Age. This module is a from the base V8 module...therefore it has many areas, thats probably the reason why you folks keep getting bugged.

To answer some questions one yes the server still runs but I have seen numerous smaller ones running so you should be able to get a multiplayer game some where, second I am sorry to hear your game freezes it may be dependant on your PC spec and not knowing it I cant help finaly the mod is updated all the time so every now and then I will update it for you, have fun

Great module. My clan is running it right now and are having a blast with it. The one change we'd like to make is to turn off the Item Drop on Death ... how do we do that? Thanks in advance and thanks again for making this available to the public.

It does not even get as far as the character selection on my machine. It starts unpacking the mod and then the progress slider goes right to the end and then it just freezes. shame really (:-(

I'm also getting the hang on the character selection screen, but when trying to run as single player. I'll try following Sorin's multiplayer advice and wait a few minutes to see if that helps.
Im hosting this And a mod called Age of Mortals II in Action. But the sweet thing is I took out the 10k xp gimmi and both server run off the same legit server vault.

Yes its the CNR and CEP it tends to stall play when the host goes in if you leave it a few mins you can choose your character and play, it does not affect any one joining your game they should be able to jump straight in

Hmmmm...can't get the game to load in multiplayer..it freezes up a character selection screen. It will load as single player.
Any idea's what is wrong. Tried it on both of my gaming machines, same result on each.
