Description
A man-made wall of ice 700 ft. tall stretches from one end of the continent to the other. Built thousands of years ago, it's true purpose now long forgotten, though it is believed to protect the realm from the wilding raiders that live in the frozen lands beyond... An ancient order, The Night's Watch, names the wall their home and fortress. To protect the realm is the vow they take, a realm that seemingly has forgotten them, or worse, views them with disdain. It's been eight years of summer but the night's are growing colder. Something long asleep is stirring again in the far reaches of the north. Only The Night's Watch and the wall stand between the Kingdom... and it's doom. Based on the series, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. This is an original story based on the world of his creation. I hope you enjoy.
I thought this mod captured the ASoIaF atmosphere pretty well. Shame it was so short, just when I was getting caught up in it! I 'specially liked the wraiths.
Same prob as below. Searched area where Luthor was and nothing there is a tree that is marked, so what nothing there? Anyway picked up sword go all the way back to castle have not completed quest. So stuck
No idea where library was at beginning and when I did find it took a while to find book.
Rogue hench for some bizarre reason would not use ranged weapon (wanted him to stand back and shoot) or any weapon ended up fighting unarmed combat, so attacks of opp. Left him behind because of this, ie easier to kill. Also found that some of the Wildling would fight unarmed combat.
Combats were generally difficult especially in hardcore but doable.
Took down a rgr (stuck now and prob no response from author!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but it might be a good idea to have chain or banded armour for some classes?
Music etc was very well done but if I was to vote a 9 would be the most as idea was not the authors (then again who has an original idea nowadays)
I finally got to the broken sword. I am pretty sure it is glitchy. Luther? I am not sure of the name. He was laying dead outside the cave but as I approached he got up "nearly dead" and started to fight me. Well. I killed him and his sword was laying on the ground. The body that was laying there previous to him jumping up to fight me was still there as well. It still shows the attack sword when I hover it but not attackable. It still says he is "dead"
Onto the sword. I have it in my pack. It is not showing up in my journal. I trekked back all way to the castle and my worries were right. The quest is not complete.
Any ideas? I'd go back to a previous save. I just don't want to spend all that time going through all that just to have the same thing happen again.
Thanks

Enjoyed this very much! There's a great Westeros feel to the whole module - for the most part, it's very gritty and realistic, and it was brilliant to see a large number of familiar NPCs from ASoIaF. Some encounters were much too hard for a low-level character plus rogue henchman; although I realise this contributes to the realism, it made for a lot of reloading.

Notable Pros:
- Interesting use of music - a nice change from the too-well-known NWN music.
- The implementation of the character's clothing was quite nice as well: from the symbolism of wearing it to the symbol of the torn cloak, it felt like there was something to the way the character dresses.
Notable Cons:
- Consists mostly of run-around-quests.
Somewhere you stated that the early fetch quests are there to get the character to level 3. If that is your goal, than it would be better to just set the player there upon entry. As it is at the moment (meaning that it ends early), your approach means that the player is running around on basic fetch quests with absolutaly no thinking involved - you know where the item is and there's nothing from stopping you from just picking it up. This makes up half the module.
- Doesn't check for dialogue choices.
Most characters simply repeat what they said before, which means getting quests, information, alignment shifts or persuade checks as often as you want - even if you just want to check whether someone has anything new to say.
- The wildling groups were too strong - as group of five "challenging" enemies, some armed with greataxes (!) is not suitable for a lvl. 2 character and his lvl. 2 henchman. Two hits out of five can kill an uninjured character. Had to reload more than ten times on some occasions.
- Evil cliffhanger.
Just when the module seemed to get going, it ended.
Conclusion:
Drew me in on some occasions, made me almost quit of boredom at the beginning. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Great mod, makes me wish he'd hurry up with the writing.
No major issues, still had some problems with people not realizing their quests were complete.
Good difficulty, ended up a 2F/2Ro I think. The only emptyish area that was a bit annoying was the large size of the basement of castle black.. that took a while to go through to essentially find nothing. I kept hoping all those locked doors would eventually open with further quests... not so much. Did I miss anything down there? Conversation and 2 items for the Maester?
What were the snow packed crabs for? Just a reference?
The hidden room was great, except exploitable - I had broken my vows but was still able to enter by just continually pressing in one direction - and I was glad I did.
Great mod, great novels (my all time favs)

I enjoyed this mod a lot. Really kept the tone of the books. I think the only problem I ran acroos was finding the transition trigger that leads to The Gift. Other than that I really liked it. Thanks.

Just amazing, I just finished a storm of swords and then I get this game and find a mod about my favorite part of the book: The Wall. Too bad Jon Snow and Pyp wasn't added in as NPCs
Adrewl A'Shanti theres no spoilers really The Wall is quite distanced from the rest of the gings on, and if I remember right this module has no spoilers except for maybe one or two about AGOT. But its for SnowWolf to say I can't recall any though. :) _________________________ "What is life if not a bunch of decisions?"

I must admit this module really catches the atmosphere of the books - it's just like I imagined castle black, the haunted forest and the wall. A sideremark: people who didn't read the novels might have some difficulties in understanding the end.

The plot is a little simplistic and linear, and the ending is unfortunately kludged with bugs, but this is nonetheless an excelelnt module.
What SnowWolf has done with just the basic tilesets and a little smidgeon of custom content is simply amazing. He's created a unique atmosphere for this game, so that it really doesn't feel like the Forgotten Realms anymore, and comes across very much as a different setting.
I enjoyed the relative darkness of the setting, and the sense of being in an inhospitable wilderness, and I particularly liked the low-magic setting, such as the use of healing herbs rather than potions, and the near complete absence of magical items, which makes the few you do find seem realy special.
Wonderful.

Just got around to playing this mod. I enjoyed it thoroughly!
The visuals, music and areas are all well done. The story fits the setting perfectly IMHO. Great job Snowwolf.

Hey Ceranko,
Just because the game won't load on your machine don't have a hissy fit and score it to match your IQ. Lots of other people seem to be playing it and enjoying it.
Don't be a quitting whiner - figure out what's wrong with your PC and fix it. Don't lay the blame on a single module.
I know I am interested. I'm a fan of the Song of Ice and Fire books. :) _________________________ Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.

Ok, I've officially given up on this module! I can't get it to load on the NWN module list on the main screen to play it. Thanks for making an incredible waste of time. Great for frustrating you if you really want to paly it and cant -10 points.

The .mod is a separate download from the .hak file. It's under FILES and is a .rar extension (requiring winrar to extract-free trial versions at tucows among others, just google winrar). Hope this helps!

You know Snowwolf Im glad you did this I was Building up a Team to create a ASOIAF PW World. But due to the vast amount of stuff we needed to do and lack of our number stopped us from doing it. We thought to put it off till NWN2 but If enough people get in touch with me at [email protected] I will restart the project as long as I knew I had the support of the Community. Maybe you want to get involved with this Project get in touch with me. And Snowwolf keep up your great work.
P.S. Im also working with a friend to renavate his Mod so Im aa busy person but I would gladly do both if I knew I had a good team :) _________________________ Signed

I also am having significant issues getting this mod loaded correctly. When I bring NWN up it's not in my list. It seems to me like I'm missing the actual .MOD file. I have the hak pak, music, etc. but how do I get the mod?
